U should have made a Shi-Zhu quote
Sun tzu*
"A castle wall and a moat will slow down the enemy... A precise arrow and a sharp sword will kill it"
- Sun Tzu, The art of war
why does this sound like a real sun tzu quote?
It’s is the only quote I could hear actually being said by Sun Tzu
Intelligence.
You can increase the number of items available at the docks by increasing the default number of 50, that way you can sell more charcoal each visit
"Plz Baron give us more kingdoms and castles"
- sun tzu, The art of joy
Also Baron if you click the dock, the locks on the side of it's menu are to not let your people take the resources from there.
"catles"
- Sun Tzu, the art of grammar.
@@umuhtheeruh missed it XD
Tip, minimize the spots for attack by putting walls there, make them attack your strongest spot by making a sort of barrier for the.
For example, say there are three points. Point A, B and C
You want them to attack point A bc it is the strongest and most defensive. Block them from landing on point B and C
@@summitknight1719 can’t you put it all in one comment?
@@deadgamer7354 it feels to long to read
One question: Since when did they change it so stone isn't unlimited?
a recent alpha change?
I’d say for crowd control so you don’t have a huge Viking apocalypse like that again you make some infantry so you can slow down the troll and all the vikings
Or, or, and please, bare with me on this one, maybe to manage crowd control, he could put Archer towers on his walls, and in the kingdom, you know, what they were made for. 😱 Crazy idea, I'm sure, it must be, cause Baron seems to not even have a single thought about it.
You can put a moat directly against all your outer walls to keep Vikings from landing there.
Make it so that they only have one place to attack from, and fortify it like crazy.
"In order to defeat an army, you need a bigger army"
-sun tzu, the art of big armies
Remember how you set to put no stone in the docks? Why not try and set to for example for charcoal to 100 or more?
In order to protect yourself from the Vikings, you must use their power against them by using the principle "Quantity is it's own type of Quality". One can achieve this by setting up more towers for example it is like bringing 5 people with bows to a sword fight with a moat in the middle.
this is true
But that isn't rlly using their own power against them
@@Egerit100 yes it is because they bring many troops, catapults, weapons and trolls so we bring more towers and in the towers there are many troops with bow and arrows
@@AceixOffical ok but that's just using more troops than them not rlly using their troops against them
I mean it kinda is because they bring troops to the battle and what do we do, we also bring troops to the battle. The thing that we are using against them is troops because they bring troops to Invade us and wexc build more Towers/firepower/troops, which is using their power against themselves
“Put archers and catapults on transport ships to make a battleship” -Sun Tzu
I clicked on this video and your “WELCOME BACK” was so powerful that it woke up my three-month old who was sleeping in my arms. She started crying but I told her to suck it up, Baron just uploaded a new Kingdoms and Castles video. I think she understood, but she kept crying anyway.

If you get the big library and the big church this is important because the big library allows you to buy tech which is just slightly op and it basically will work as 5 small libraries (not accurate that is my assumption)
Edit:Also it will prob boost your happiness to 90 or 100

Baron, you can use the repair button (the one with the yellow tools icon at the bottom right corner of the screen) to select an area and repair anything that had been destroyed within it. It can save you a lot of time instead of just manually cliking each and every destroyed structures. Selecting a large area can also help you to not miss anything, as those rubbles can sometimes be hard to spot. :>
To have more charcoal in the ports:
1. Have a charcoal stockpile and production line nearby
2. Use the carts to transport charcoal between ports and stockpiles
3. Have max dock workers
4. Good road access
... and set the "desired" amount higher. It's at 50 at the moment.

YESSSSSSS BARON YOU GAVE ME MY DAILY DOSE OF KINGDOMS AND CASTLES THANK YOUUUUUUU
*literally anything happens*
Baron: I wanna build a fortress (or) ya I know but I feel like a fortress on that spot is gonna help a lot
He then proceeds to make it either incredibly useful, or totally pointless, but no matter which one it is, he defends it with one, MAYBE two, Archer towers, leaving it....somewhat defended, but nowhere near what it could and should be. Then he ignores the fact that a wall is only so strong, and it is only useful while it stands, in order to protect the walls he needs Archer towers, and more ballistas. Instead of defending the walls his solution is to surround the walls with more walls, and a moat. Plus he barely makes Archer squads. I love how he complains about lack of defense, despite having his massive wall, because he barely makes Archer towers anywhere
I'm yelling at Baron for 1. Not fixing his GOD DAMN FARMS! And 2. Not making enough archer towers for his massive walls! And then his solution to poorly defended walls, is to make MORE, and make a MOAT!? MAKE. MORE. TOWERS. BARON!

Baron build your people and food up and you could expand the walls to the edges of the island and grow your army more soldiers and knights to hold the hordes
You should try the transport carts, they work like your own merchant ships but transport resources within your own kingdom wherever you need them
Loved the video @BaronVonGames! Can't wait for the next video of Kingdoms and Castles man! Your new canal that you've done with the Seagate should have walls on both sides therefore if a Viking ship goes down it you can fire arrows from both sides
Love your videos Baron you never disappoint

You don't get more merchant ships if your Neighbors hate you
Hei Baron you can spread some wood walls around the cost to tank the catapult scorso from the viking sheeps
Okay. I shouldn't comment before watching the entire video ... but I just have to :) - I'm at minute 5 by the way.
1) You didn't rebuild some of the destroyed wheat farms
2) Zero people idle is always bad - try to keep 5 to 10% people idle
3) Set the "desired" amount of charcoal to something like 500 or so
4) You have lots of space for charcoal makers near the docks. And even some usable trees (okay, outside the wall, but that's okay for building foresters near the docks.
5) It's cheaper to buy iron and let your blacksmith "transform" it into armory and tools
And I think you should look at your aqueducts. There are a few great places for building a reservoir extending the irrigated areas by quite a lot ...
Not to mention, (which I do mention this quite a bit), his SEVERE lack of Archer towers and ballistas, PLUS he doesn't really make many Archer squads. Or any other units. Then, despite being ransacked, and complaining about it, he doesn't actually improve his defenses, he just blocks off more area and wastes space, then, as he doesn't make more Archer towers, many Vikings simply waltz past his important defenses into his kingdom. And, he keeps getting lit on fire by dragons. Small issue, easily solved with ballistas. Doesn't use ballistas. Lets dragons burn kingdom. Great job Baron, you played yourself bud.
The vikings be like in the early game;" my mother told me some day i would buy galey with good ores sail to distant shores"
If you have watchtowers with archers randomly place in your land you may soften up the invaders that landed before they reach the main infrastructure

To win a war, defense is priority- Sun Tzu, Art of Defense
When it comes to dragons and Vikings you should build 2x1 stone towers with archer towers and Ballistas. There is no cap to how high you can make those 2x1 towers so make sure to build them high so you can have a huge range of fire

I feel like you could have vastly increased your food supply by using fish and baking and piggies
You do need good iron and charcoal supplies in order to keep up the tools needed
And I'd put four ballistas mid city to handle all dragons
And seriously crank out weapons to build your army
You can send a transport ship with stone or other items to the other kingdoms . I think . 🤔

Try upgrading your walls to stone, I'd also recommend having small archer units on each side of the wall. Then place a large until near the castle and when Vikings attack you can move them to attack area. Also upgrade your paths to stone for faster movement.
One could try and trap the merchant in the new dock.

The secret of Constantinople's famous walls, as I understand it, is that it utilized three layers of gradated walls. In other words, the inner wall was the tallest, and the outer wall the shortest. That part you could definitely replicate in this game. However, there was one other component of that which can't be replicated here. The spaces between walls were actually filled in. The outer wall might be 20 feet high from the outside, but a heavy horseman could ride right up to the parapets from the back. Then there was a bare killing zone before the next, even higher wall, with plenty of room to maneuver cavalry and no cover from the archers on the next wall. And in the case of siege bombardment, the backing dirt provided extra stability to the wall, making it completely impervious to anything short of the Turkish field cannons that finally brought it down.
What might be possible instead is a system of walls and moats made in imitation of those walls. You could build two or three layers of walls with two or three tile wide moats between to slow down enemies who break through, and bridges/drawbridges providing access to the land beyond. You could connect those walls to each other at various points using wall bridges that keep the troops out of the moats and allow quick evacuations from threatened wall sections. It would be a huge, expensive project, and look awesome once finished ... but the game doesn't really support this kind of defense. Walls gain HP as they get taller, but are unaffected by thickness, and archers can shoot right over regardless of height, so you actually want tall walls soaking the attacks. Ballistae gain ridiculous range from the towering heights that stone walls can achieve in this game, allowing them to pick off priority targets long before they become threats. And, on top of all that, archers seem to randomly bounce off walls, so giving them multiple layers of walls but only giving access from within is not reliable.
So it's a fun idea, but the most mechanically reliable strategy is definitely to abuse stone wall height for ballista towers, order mobile archers into all of them as needed, and occasionally plop down a stationary archer tower in the frequent flyer locations.
"That's why you need allies, they can help you a lot, so stop making enemies baron! You son of a Toast"

My mom says do not put all your eggs in one basket. I think she got that from an ancient Chinese philosopher LOL
After your last episode I bought the game. I played one difficulty below the one your on I think, but that shouldn’t make a difference. To optimize your economy set everything but charcoal to zero so that only charcoal will be put in the trading post. Then set the amount of charcoal you want to 630 (or more) since that is how much a trading post can hold (so time there might be more charcoal in there then the limit the the port can hold. Then in a different area make a lot of charcoal farms like 30-100 and then place a large storage area next to them. Then make multiple carts to bring the charcoal directly to the ports from that storage and another few to bring wood to the storage next to the charcoal making area so they have easy access to wood. This method can get you somewhere between 1900- 2300 gold every time (though on average closer to 2100) the merchant comes bye, it just depends if the port is overflowing with charcoal. From the short time I’ve played the game this is the best way to get gold for when kingdoms don’t have over 1.5k people. After that the tax can take over. Another things, if you are on good relations with another kingdom late game there’s a chance that they will give you their nation. Then you can start to import all their resources like stone. Is is supppppeeerrrr useful (for me it happened around year 200 and again around year 350. (don’t know if there is a designated time for this to happen or if it can happen on the difficulty your on)). Another thing that can help is the great library( haven’t watched your other play through yet so don’t know if you know this) it can give upgrades and the best one is that it makes everything cheaper, though not by much it will add up.
tip: you should build moats on the little bits of land where the vikings land.

Wait a minute I thought I came here to see Baron not the spiffing Brit ,The Brit has to be sweating someone is taking his exploitation job
cmon, docks can hold 600 charcoal, you have to change numbers, change everything to 0, put charcocal for 1000 and select "desired" then Your people wont take charcocal from this dock, and then when metchant will appear You can sell all of this charcocal and You collect a lot money and You are rich and You are the best. Also cool idea is to put Your archers to "purse". They will automaticly run into vikings ans shot them from distance and they will not get any damage. also if You want sell only charcoal to other NPC put all wages to 1 and then you can sell charcocal at price 9 for one. personally i recomennd build a lot of masons and turn them only when vikings appear because they cost money. They will repair your walls quickly. and be ready because in future years vikings attacks starts to be really hard (like when they send 10 trolls). keep going with these series, i love them! Also small tip, you can build high tower with balista which can shoot to enemy island and kill enemies. another cool idea to build small stockpile next to barracks only for armaments to recruit archers/cavalary much faster. good luck!
A (real) quote fitting here is: War made the state and the state made war. - Charles Tilly
Meaning that War allowed the state to raise taxes, which would be used to make even more war.
Don't know if that still works - 8:49 - if a stockpile (or granary) is destroyed, all ressources are gone. When you see a stockpile is attacked you can prevent ressources from being lost by destroying it.
