This is one of the great Norman revival mock castles of the early 19th century complete with a great keep. It is estimated that it may have cost around £150,000 to build, which in todayÌs money is close to 50 million pounds. It was built for the Pennant family, who had made a fortune from nearby Bethesda slate mining and Jamaican sugar.

It is quite beautiful on the outside, and very very disappointing on the inside. I only wish they spent the time and money on the inside. It is absolutely frigid. However, the outside is truly magnificent. I hope it’s real and not just a skin tight facade. At least we can be comforted that the evil Leftie’s (the sinister antifa’s) will never make it to this castle. They are way to lazy. This castle may just end up being a fortified castle again of old the rate things are going.

Are you serious? It is absolutely beautiful inside it may not be as OTT as other houses of the period but it’s Gothic interior is really quite beautiful.
