This afternoon run-through in the southern heat of mid-July (I think air temps reached 102+ on July 18th in Broken Arrow, plus whatever sort of convection oven heat radiates off the turf) is a great example of how insanely hot temperatures cause the pitch to skyrocket in brass instruments (and cold too for late fall marching band!), and also how the front ensemble pitch not being as affected by the heat culminates in an ensemble pitch nightmare. Kudos to the group for battling through the insane weather elements!!!! Those are INCREDIBLY difficult weather conditions on the field!
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa16534Oh, they were there. Funnily- driving back to OKC i saw them get pulled over on the highway… i’m not sure why they didnt just leave the show when they knew they weren’t performing? they left at the exact same time as everyone else, and mustve been in a big hurry to get where they were going… laughed my ass off at them when i saw them pulled over.
Such a cool show. Has the “classic drum corps feel” a lot of shows are missing now a days but with elements of a new era. Really made me miss marching in a way a lot of shows don’t. Kudos to everyone involved. Awesome 👏🏻
Please tell me HOW this show has the "classic drumcorps feel" because I certainly don't see/hear it. Last year, yes. This year, no definitely not. Last year they had my favorite show. This year, they sold out and they're now a hot dog corps for me. I keep checking out these videos, hoping they will win me over but it just ain't happening. Here's hoping Cadets beat them at finals. Cadets actually have good music and drill in their show.
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa16534to me this show is in a similar vein as shows like Tilt, Kinetic noise, and other shows that are similar. It feels like a concept show, cause I’ll admit I have no idea what the show theme really is. But I didn’t really care while watching it. It felt very cohesive musically throughout, and visually I’m not sure because I havnt seen them with the Unis, but they’re DEFINITELY moving fast and clean. Overall it was just a fun a show to watch for me and gave me a lot of nostalgia for the times when I started getting into drum corps in the early 2010’s. But that’s just my opinion🤷🏻♂️
I was in Zephyrus and we were going to leave all of our stuff right off field to watch it cause they were right after. Sad that they didn’t get to perform
my understanding from asking about it last year is that the members have to earn both the Chevron and the kickouts/stand-kicks. So they will always come a bit later in the season when the team is scoring well enough across the board.

Hope their marching members who had to be on that hot ass bus are doing ok now!

@@duston1649it was too hot for them to consider it safe
The AC on one of the buses failed and many of the members became ill.
@@maxitrouble What I was told was that it was the guards bus and by the time they got there half the guard was extremely sick.
