    I like the idea of someone else asking questions during the video. It makes sure nothing is forgotten and renders the presentation more natural. Mohammed is asking really good questions. However, his habit of repeatedly affirming with „yeah“ and „aha“ etc. is quite distracting. But maybe that‘s just me. Love the scale by the way.

    The scale should only turn off automatically after two minutes of *the weight being zero*, not two minutes of the weight not changing. This way you don't lose any data to the scale turning off randomly.
    That's the most infuriating behavior I know of scales. I put in some ingredient, tare, put in the second ingredient, don't have enough of it and need to prep more to get to the amount, or get distracted by something for a couple minutes, and when I come back the scale has turned off.
    I also like zeroing my scale with a container on it, taking the container off, mixing things, and then putting it back on to see the new weight.
    Of course you can always work backwards to get the data back somehow, at least if you have a good memory, but it sucks.
    If there's a non-zero weight on it, it should be more of a 10-30 minute timeout in my opinion.

    • @sAmiZZle82
      @sAmiZZle82 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, I've had this happen in the middle of things. Although I'd say it should turn off if inactive whilst on a 0 or negative value for x mins. If you left it without using it for a period after taring it, it would be 0. Otherwise, if it was tared and use to weigh something which has now been removed and nothing else has been weighed on it, then it would be a negative value.

    • @tommihommi1
      @tommihommi1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sAmiZZle82 the negative is useful because you can put a container onto the scale, tare it, then do stuff and put the container back on the scale to measure what's now in the container.
      If the scale shuts off in the middle of this, you need to either empty it out again, have the weight of the container written down, or have a second container of the same weight.

    I love how Decent creates everything with better precision and user experience in mind...
    I am very excited at the scale too, but......I am a little skeptical about positioning the LEDs on the side. I just don't think I will always stand far enough to see the reading clearly at that angle. This might be worse if you are a tall person...

    • @decentespresso
      @decentespresso  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, I know this is an unusual, and risky design decision. However... when I back or cook with a scale, I often find the display on normal scales (top display) gets hidden. I wanted to solve that problem.
      Also, many people will use this scale with a bluetooth app, and the weight will get echoed there.

    These scales are optimised to be used with the decent. "It's wide so you can do two cups at once", no, it's wide so that it supports the drip tray. The display being on the side is another tell tell sign.
    If you make another scale optimised for normal use, display on top, normal scale size and shape, then I would happily buy one but as it stands, it lives up to its name of the decent scale.

    Very disappointed of this scale paired with the DE1. When using batteries and paired, it doesn’t turn off and wash the batteries power in one night. When connected to usb power, doesn’t turn off forever. What’s the lifetime of this product? Won’t last long when powered 24/24!!! Also, needs a dedicated power outlet for a missing sub adaptor. Why haven’t you provided an additional usb plug on the DE1 to connect the scale in it, turn off this outlet when sleeping to extend the scale life?
    You should have spent one more year in research and developement to get rid of power cord when using the scale, or provide rechargeable capabilities, as competitors provide. This scale is not innovative at all. It’s a Hitech 1980’s product, not in 2021.
