    Great explanation in simple terms with an analogy anyone can understand.

    I'm technically literate, but this was not a simple explanation for newbies. It would help if you had a whiteboard that shows the components all connected together and you pointed out what each part does. Then you throw around the term "Watts" and people don't understand that, or how it correlates to the inverter or your solar system.
    Showing a refrigerator plate, and the watts rating, or peak starting watts rating, and explaining how to backwards calculate capacity so that people don't buy a bunch of stuff and it doesn't work. Your dam and river and land capacity (for solar coverage) works, but there are series and parallel considerations to consider, and helping people understand these relationships graphically will be more helpful.
    I'd also be a little careful with the throwaway terms that can denote danger - "blow away" (I believe - I was interrupted while writing this). It's worth explaining the sequence to connect things together so they don't get shocked.
    I think this is a worthy effort - to make this simple.

    Looking forward to seeing this on the overland setup. I have a teardrop trailer with A/C plus solar input port, inverter, and battery. Planning on installing panels, controller. I want to rework the setup to allow for more solar, a roof panel (and portable if needed) and bigger or serial batteries.

    The Inverter can be thought of as a hydro electric dam. Turns the water in your reservoir into usable electricity as it flows into it.

      Man I like that. I’ll steal that! Smart!

      @@TJackSurvival I am currently setting up my Cargo Trailer conversion with solar. This was a great way to explain not only the components but how everything works together as a flow.

      @@christopherpike8269very cool! That’s exactly where this system’s going to end up. In an overlanding tear drop trailer.

      @@TJackSurvival A good simple system with basic hook up of Starlink and a laptop. Goal for next year is to get out and off the grid more. Going to be working "remote". Boss never said I had to stay at home to work. ;)

    How many solar panels and charge controllers do I need to power up my F150 sized Lockheed Martin black budget drone? Asking for a friend. 😂

      D. All of the above

    What does a setup like that cost

      Not sure. Head on over to Lion Energy and look up the 280 amp hour 3500 battery, inverter, 400w charge controller and you have your price. It’s all extremely easy to put together. I’ll have this on my trailer later.

    You say battery has computer components. Does that mean an emp of any kind would effect the battery?

    • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival 11 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      EMP’s depending on how far away they are only really affect about 30% of things and that’s depending on how much wire is connected and how long that wire is and how close it is to the EMP. Think of it like an explosion. The closer you are the more you’re affected. So I can’t tell you yes or no and be correct. Can they be affected? Yes, but so can any battery with enough wiring connected to it. It’s the wiring that gathers electrons and zaps things during an EMP that’s the problem. If you want EMP protection you need replacement parts inside of a grounded faraday cage. Otherwise it’s just a crap shoot on what will work and what won’t. Also most knowledge out there is just hypothesis since no one has published data out there after starfish prime. So maybe. Maybe not.
