Patuxent Small Craft Guild CMM Crafting a tiller for a vintage catboat

Calvert Marine Museum's volunteer craftsman, Ed Kobrinski is skillfully crafting a tiller for a vintage catboat. In this case the tiller is a solid piece of wood with some add ons. The design is drawn on the wood and then Ed carefully builds in the appropriate curvatures. This activity as well as other nautical wood work can be seen in the Patuxent Small Craft Building at the Calvert Marine Museum normally on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 9:00 and 3:00. Ed is a member of the the Patuxent Small Craft Guild which is sponsored by the Calvert Marine Museum located in Solomons, MD. George Surgent is the museum's Boatwright who heads up the Guild's activities.
