Return trip from Knapps Narrows Marina where the Cheapeake Bay Nonsuch Association (CBNA) Spring Rendezvous was held. At the helm is good friend Tom Jones. We were enjoying an 18 - 21 knot head wind. My Nonsuch 30, Whiskers II behaved beautifully.

Origami Boat Launch at CMM

This video shows some of the origami boats being launched in the basin of the Calvert Marine Museum. Under the leadership of Al Suydam, Ed Bahniuk and Ned Clarke (Volunteers at the museum and the Patuxent Small Craft Guild {PSCG) 9 youngster converted signs into origami boats. This concluded Boat Camp #1. Boat Camp #2 will take place in August.

Over the years, the Patuxent Small Craft Guild (PSCG) volunteers of the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, MD have rebuilt a number of vintage canoes. Spearheaded by Tony Pettit, this 17 ft Old Town, 1927 canoe was being re-canvassed. The video shows the process used by the PSCG group. Of course, a tremendous amount of work was put into the restoration of the canoe in preparation for this event.

Great woodworking Mr. Garren, love the Heron. Very interested in this boat. I like the ultra layout, but both models appear comfortable below. There is a classic in my area on lake superior. Sngl handing is of interest. Thanks for the video!
I think I lost my original reply. Thanks for your comments. Please call me Butch. Since this video I built a new cabin sole, completely different than the original. Added cockpit carpeting. Added more woodwork pieces with more to come. Both versions (Classic/Ultra) are great. If all was right I would have bought either in a heartbeat. If all was equal I would pick a classic. They are great boats. Also look at the Nonsuch 30U. Same boat except that the interior is laid out differently.

No, but that sounds good. We live on Kentucky lake very large lake and from here we could motor/sail anywhere, thanks Butch. We used to live in the Chicago area and had a 27 foot Catalina and sailed a lot on Lake Michigan and looking forward to doing it again.

Butch Garren Good morning Butch I’m in Kentucky Kentucky Lake just a few miles from Kentucky Dam Marina very much interested in Nonesuch. II owned a28 foot Catalina downtown Chicago and seen my first Nonsuch.I feel that the boats ideal for single-handed sailing. If you ever decide to go south again try Kentucky Lake Tombigbee canal.

Beautiful Boat, enjoyed the tour,, love those nonsuch, seems much easier to sail than my 33 with a standard rig. I may consider one of these someday myself, great layout too.
Thanks for your comments Rick. These boats love wind. I don't know if I mentioned it in the video, but once leaving slip or mooring there is no need to leave cockpit. I can reef the boat in about 25 seconds while sailing. Cheers! Butch

This would be cool with a figure and crab pots for scale. I would purchase plans, or possibly a finished boat. This would be good for those of us whose wives won't let them have any more fullsize boats.
