  • Ephemera (paper pieces used in scrapbooking) is one of my very favorite craft supplies. Therefore, I have a TON of it! I thought I would bring you into my craft room and discuss the three most common ways to organize and categorize your ephemera. My most common supplies are linked below!

    I like your storage method. I'm a visual organizer. If I see it, it exists.
    I like the different ways you store your ephemera. I can easily see and access them.

      THanks! And I agree, I need it to be visual as well.

    Hello from Texas. I love ephemera and I currently have mine in one of those plastic cases that hold the smaller cases inside (10 or so, they are sold at Michaels) however while they are organized they are not readily accessible. Thanks for sharing. You always give me great ideas or at least make me think 😂.

      I agree, those cases are efficient, but access is not easy! Thanks for watching :)

      I organized mine exactly as you did & have the same problem - it's all organized but I never, ever pull out the little cases, sooooo I need to find a better way to have them accessible.

      @@silvanam9229 I'm an organizing nerd and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I think I am going to put the current ephemera (Valentine's Day from Doodlebug) in a drawer organizer so it's close at hand. Maybe I like to buy craft supplies more than I like to craft 😂

You're always organizing"😂 and it seems like I have every little type of baskets & bins and cases...it's neverending!😂

    I LOOOOOOOVE videos like this! My brain works in a very similar way to yours. THank you so much for sharing this. Do you feel like your storage and organization goes hand-in-hand with your crafting/creating? That’s how I am; my husband and daughter are always like- “Didn’t you just organize this?”

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I think the two spur each other on. When things are organized, it can certainly increase my creativity, and as my crafting/creating evolves, my organization really has to do so as well. That's why I revisit some of my systems on a regular basis.

    Impressive. Thank you for sharing the ideas. Partially, I organize them in section trays like yours. Some others, I organize them in section containers based on theme for teaching. Again, thank you for the wonderful video and blessings to you 🙏💐🎉

    You look especially nice in this video and love your organizational tips! I love ephemera and have lots of it also ... I keep most of it in acrylic stacking trays. I need to start using it faster than I buy it or I might as well be considered a collector ... bordering on being a hoarder. After many years of crafting, I have narrowed down what I enjoy doing and have donated lots of craft supplies that I don't use or need, but not my ephemera!! Take care!

    I am a quilter of many years. I like the Alex drawer system with small containers and containers from the dollar store also. It has kept me organized. I don't have many ephemera yet since I am new journaling, etc. But, I like your system. It has given me a place to start. Thank you.

    You are always so inspiring and creative with organizational suggestions. Thank you for sharing with us. As for me, I have paper pieces e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. Meaning, I use the Iris photo cases sorted by theme for the bulk of them. Then, I organize a project into a tray or case, go thru and pull out what I think I'll use, putting them in smaller containers for the trays, CD envelopes for the case or tool box, so they are easily accessible. When the project finishes, I either put them back in the Iris cases or toss them in a basket to file later. For the printables, I print them out when I think I will use them, fussy cut, and put them on the tray for that project. The papers printed and not cut out too much, go in a file drawer. I'm rethinking as I proceed with the room swaps and making notes so I can try a couple of things that may work better. LOL It's always a work in progress with me.

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely always a work in progress! A lot of people love the iris cases, but I just find them a bit cumbersome to get into and look through. But, we all have different ways that work for us!

    I have that exact same thin rolling cart that you showed! I needed it for between the wall & the sink in my tiny upstairs bathroom off of my craft room area. Your open container/drawer storage is nice but I don’t have large spaces like that. I like to organize by theme (words/sentiments, floral, insects, trees, seasonal, etc). Right now I use these stackable vaccine trays (they are durable clear plastic approx 3”x7”) and they hold quite a bit. I have an endless supply from work so they are free! I try to use storage and solutions in a thrifty way. TYFS ❤️🦋💜

    • @ScrappyWife

      Love the stackable trays...kinda like a compromise between open and closed storage. Still super easy to grab what you need. What a fabulous solution!

    New subscriber here! I don’t have near as much ephemera as you, but I have different types of elements such as metals, wood, plastic/resin, etc. that I would like to move to a different space, beside my modular drawers. I will look through your channel to see other videos. I also have quite a huge collection of 12 x 12 paper pads and loose paper, among other things. I may sign up for your course. I do like that IKEA organizer.

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like mine, but I don't move it very own. With where it is between my bookcase and desk, it is pretty stable. I can see that with how skinny it is, it might tip over when moved a lot. It is a great size for ribbons though.

    Thanks for sharing. I keep my ephemera in the Tiffany filing system. It’s big and bulky but once you have space it’s like a large 3 ring binder made out of metal, and I store my ephemera in 12x12 plastic pages with pockets. I love it because I can flip through the binder and find what I want.
