THIS WORKED!!!! Thank you so much for sharing, I had the Maytag repair guy diagnosis $100, and then estimate another $600-$700 for parts and labor. I was ready to buy a new washer, literally had the LG in the BestBuy cart. Obviously Wife was pissed and found your video! 20-30 minutes later, Boom saved me damn near $1000 on a new washer, warranty, install, and haul away. Thank you again for sharing!

Once the top back panel was off (5 screws), I was able to squeeze my hand in with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the four small sensors on the back left side--no need to undo the metal clips and slide the panel forward. This worked; thank you so much!!

Our Maytag Bravos Xl mvwb835dw1 would not power on, so we called a repair company to come fix it. The technician said the control board and the main board was bad and needed to be replaced.
The coast was going to be $560.00 for the repair. I came across this video and less than 5 minuets the washer was back on and working just fine. THANK YOU for the great tip!

Add another $300+ to the total you have saved us. Same dang thing here. 2 of the tiny leads that are supposed to be copper colored were actually green (was her stays in garage) so I ended up scraping the gunk off (carefully) then scrubbed the area real well. Plugged it in and it fired right up. Thank you brother!

Genius!!!!!!! Thank you. I saw a few other videos about diagnosis of the board but couldn't get the panel off. Found your video which showed the clips and the copper contacts and it made sense but seemed like a Longshot. My board and 5v socket checked out and sure enough there was some shmutz on touching copper pad 3 and 4. Qtip and alcohol, plugged it in and the wife's jaw dropped when it chirped and lit up. Thank you!

This fixed my washer as well!
The panel was non responsive following a little power surge, so I was convinced that the main control board had a short, even though I had the blinking light. I purchased a replacement and installed it, only to still have the same issue.
Feeling defeated, I was about to try purchasing a replacement panel when I came across this video. Sure enough, there was some corrosion in the exact spot mentioned in the video. A qtip and rubbing alcohol cleaned it right up, and all seems to be in working order again!
I put the original control board back in to confirm that it wasn't the issue, and indeed it was the dirty contact points.
I only wish that this video would have been published and I had seen it before I purchased the replacement control board. Now, here's to hoping I can return the replacement board I purchased.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I don’t make videos and I have done this fix before because I had stumbled across the electrical contacts being green and corroded . So this being the fourth time in 3 years I’ve had to fix my washer I couldn’t get it to work so I watched your video and it was everything I’d done in the past repairs but I still couldn’t get it to work. Then I took the control panel piece off and cleaned every contact I could see with corrosion. It worked . Thanks for the video it was a good refresher. I just subscribed to your channel.

Thanks, this fix did the trick. Just a few notes on my particular machine.
I don’t see any name on our machine (e.g., “Bravos”), and I had watched 5 or 6 TH-cams. Finally, decided I would see if I could recognize the same control panel designation on a video -”Maytag --Commercial Technology.”
I followed the instructions here, but found that we have more screws on the back around the “hinge” area. Also to release the circular spring clips, I used channel lock pliers because regular pliers had insufficient mouth to grab and squeeze the clip.
Also, when I pushed and then pulled the top loose, I couldn’t access the inside of the control panel. There was a metal panel running the length of the control panel (not shown in the control panel for this video), and I removed the screws holding it on. Then had access to the plastic back of the control panel, which had the access hole with the contact points shown in this video. I removed the little wire with needlenose pliers to squeeze the plastic clip.
(YOU HAVE UNPLUGGED THE MACHINE IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING ME -CORRECT?)
I used Q-tips and alcohol to scrub the contacts, but the blackish corrosion was hard, particularly between the 4 copper strips. I CAREFULLY used a small chisel to GENTLY scrape the area between the strips, making sure not to gouge the plastic -only scrape the corrosion off the surface.
Then, I scrubbed some more with the Q-Tips/alcohol. Instead of reassembling everything, I connected the small wire to the contacts access area and gently turned the control panel over. I stepped away from touching the machine, plugged in the machine, and pushed the on button. SUCCESS!
HOWEVER, ANYONE WITH ELECTRICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE, PLEASE ADD WHATEVER CAUTIONS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THESE AMENDMENTS TO THE VIDEO.

Dude, you saved me 300 bucks! I don't see why cleaning those points makes the washer work but I thought what the hell since I've got the machine open to this point already I'll give it go. Now it's working like new. Awesome.
