If you think about it, Jasper isn't an evil gem. She's a quartz. According to Peridot from "Too Far", a quartz is a huge, [loyal] soldier.
Rose Quartz (before Steven was born) is loyal; she'd never gave up being a Crystal Gem. If she did, the Crystal gems would've never praised her.
Amethyst (despite her personality) is loyal. Despite the fact of being a Kindergarten by-product, she'd never gave up being a Crystal Gem.
Now Jasper, she is loyal, but in a different way. She's loyal to Yellow Diamond (as proven by yellow diamond on her "Homeworld uniform." Imagine being in her boots(?) and {Spoiler Alert!} remember on how scary Yellow Diamond got when Peridot called her a clod. Imagine on what type of punishment Yellow Diamond would perform on Jasper (or any members of her court) without any sign of hesitation, if Jasper hesitated or had an opinion that's different from her. My guess is that she'll probably poof Jasper and grind Jasper's gem in a fine powder in front of everyone with the heel of her colossal boot.
I know that it sounded a little dark for this show, but I think that it might pass the censors (or radar).
Please have Jasper join the Crystal Gems!
Jasper's story could be like Zuko (Avatar: The Last Air Bender). She starts off confused because she starts seeing the beauty of the Earth, and begins to understand why Rose Quartz chose turned her back on Home World. But then she goes back to join Yellow Diamond, only to end up more confused until she finds out that the Diamonds care nothing for her, and she finally understands the true meaning of life and what the Crystal Gems stand for. And ultimately decides to join them to protect the Earth, but at first the Gems don't trust her, including Steven, but as time passes they see she truly is one of them.

I have a theory. She fell into the Underground and fought a smiling skeleton because of her misdeeds. She seems to miss every one of her attacks and the skeleton even seems to be warping time. She gets dunked on at one point after a series of getting poofed and reforming followed by more getting poofed and reforming. The skeleton even counts the amount of times he poofed her. If you get this reference than good for you.

I feel like Jasper would be the perfect character to have a "fake redemption." This means that she will act like she has turned sides, only to betray the Crystal Gems in the end.
Or what if she joins them planning to do that, but ends up finding out she likes Earth.

I'd like to see Jasper come around too, but if it were to happen right when she comes back, that's way too soon. I know she seems a well-established character to the dedicated fan-base, but she only had a major presence in what, one episode? Jailbreak isn't enough to fully establish her as an antagonist, thus the effect of her switching to the protagonists would be diminished. I think she first needs a solid arc as an antagonist outside Malachite, like Peridot received.
Also for perspective, Peridot just joined the Gems, and Lapis may be soon be joining as well. With Jasper too, that's approaching an overload of sunshine and friendship.
If the team does go the way speculated in this video though, I'm sure it'll end up being more than just fine in their capable hands.

+theEarlofChip That episode will take a while to come up, but it seems that the story ark proposed by this youtuber is probably one of the best I've heard. She is very stubborn and if she is in fact breaking apart, it would be the best time for her to experience the wonders that earth has to offer, or for her to be shown the kindness and generosity that can be shown by Earth's inhabitants. She could even find a hard headed character like herself that she could relate to that lives on earth. I really didn't care at all about Jasper, but that is because of how little we know about her. If she comes around and becomes a friendlier person, having an entire episode dedicated to her experiencing Earth alone, is the best way to do so. I want to see that episode.

Honestly, while I have full faith in whichever direction the Crewniverse chooses to take Jasper's arc, I personally don't really want to see Jasper become a straight-out protagonist. I think I'd rather just see her as a complex villain. I think it'd just feel awkward to have almost every single gem we've met so far join the Crystal Gems. Heck, I don't even know if I want to see Lapis unambiguously join the gems. I think the cast might start to feel kinda cluttered if we take on tonnes of new characters, especially so soon after Peridot just joined.
And for all we know, Jasper could be way too far gone- just because she has a sense of morality doesn't mean she's a good person. She's been a warrior for Homeworld for years, and I can't see her changing so easily. And unlike Peridot, this doesn't seem born out of ignorance or brainwashing- she seems to be a decently respected veteran who seems to take active pleasure in what she does, whereas Peridot was basically just doing her job. I dunno, she seems like she's got a little bit more going on than just another character to be redeemed.
But meh, that's just my two cents. Maybe they will redeem Jasper and it'll be the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
No, I feel that they won't become Crystal Gems, but they can't really go home. Seeing as Peridot has just turned her back on home world, they have no reason to believe that Jasper is still loyal. I think she might go out on her own. I think that Lapiz might go out on her too. She has no loyalty to the crystal gems. They might become anti heroes.

I'm kind of hoping for a failed redemption with Jasper. For one thing, I don't think Jasper will be as easily swayed as Peridot. She's a soldier, and one of the first qualities of a good soldier is loyalty to their nation. I realize that Rose was also a soldier, but it's been stated and shown that she had more compassion than most gems. Still, Rose's rebellion is proof that Jasper could come around.
My biggest reason for this is a thematic one. A huge part of this show is that love and kindness can accomplish most anything, but at the end of the day there is a limit to that. I think Jasper will be the one to show that not everyone can change. I predict Steven trying to win her over, but failing.
Even so, the interactions you suggested between Jasper and the Crystal Gems was very interesting, and I'd like to see how that would play out.
I imagine Steven learning that lesson too. But not from Jasper. I feel a different character will fill that role like one of the Diamonds or maybe some other character we haven't seen yet. I feel like it'd be too easy with Jasper to be that one character none of the good guys can reason with.

Jasper might fuse with random fusion shards, she thinks fusion is just fusion for her and it can be used as a weapon. She's gonna fuse with the shards and she just going to look like a monster

Amethyst was processed for like an extra hundred years or so and wasn't formed yet. It would be kind-of rediculous for another gem to get to the same point after being formed just by being stuck there for like a few months at most? IDK, it just seems like a huge stretch.
Jasper fusing with Gem Experiments might be possible however........ The shards are clearly able to at least attempt to assimilate other gems and they seem to at least think that they can absorb other gems to become whole, so it could be possible for Jasper to either willingly or unwillingly be forced to join with one or more fusion experiments and become a super messed up crazy antagonist for the gems. If that does happen it might even lead into Steven learning of some way to potentially fix the shards.

Yeah she seems the type to stay an antagonist for the better part of the show until something happens to her that shakes her core beliefs enough to make her consider going turncoat on her superiors.

She should be more like Vegeta, by which I mean, she wouldn't be redeemed or developed right away, but still join their side. She would eventually change but always like fight and be antagonistic towards Garnet to some degree.

You also forgot to mention one other thing for the reason the writers wrote her off the show, not only to separate her form the Crystal Gems, but in my opinion to give time for Lapis to have her little arc. I won't call it a redemption arc, but a development arc. I don't think you could develop those characters if they are together, they need to be separated. And they choose to give Lapis to get development first, than when that is done, than it will be Jasper's turn.
Alexandrite did agree that Jasper and Lapiz could use some time apart in Super Watermelon Island. I guess this is the show's way of doing just that and Jasper will simply come later.

My crazy theory is that Yellowtail will be out fishing and gets his hook caught on an unconscious Jasper. He brings her home to Beach City as part of his catch and Onion decides to make her his new best friend. Hilarity ensues and Jasper escapes Onion only to run into the Crystal Gems. God only knows what happens after that, but I imagine her redemption arc would start once she's confronted by the Gems (including Peridot and Lapis).

I like the theory of her gem being cracked
personally I dont think jasper will just join the crystal gems. that story has been done with paridot and if everyone joins the crystal gems the story would get redundant fast.
however i do like the idea of the interaction with steven on a different perspective on his mom. so far she seemed to be pretty flawless despite starting a war.

I don't think it would be redundant for Jasper to join the team, because it was already hinted a long while ago that Jasper, Lapis, and Peridot would join the Crystal Gems. There was a storyboard art with Peridot and the Gems on a chess board, with Lapis and Jasper off to the side (and off the board). I think it's just a matter of finally getting the final party together. Basically completing the set of main characters.

Now THIS is a redemption arc I agree upon! Jasper is too much of a soldier (a quite experienced one I might add) even if her worldview of earth changes she wont change her mind about the crystal gems that easely.

I would like to see Jasper again, yes, but I don't want her to be a crystal gem. the simple fact is that her dedication to homeworld and solidity in ideas means that she's unlikely to see their side. At best, Jasper would be a tolerable ally if things g eery rough, an I mean this being the best of circumstances.
I also want to point out that there is no where we saw Jasper's gem or her, but her gem is perfectly fine on Malachite before defusing. There simply isn't a time where her gem could have seriously broken between defusing and falling.
I kinda don't want jasper to join the gems, having any gem the gems encounter to join them is kinda ridiculous, I think jasper would be a good way to show that not all people can change and would be a good minor antagonist with yellow diamond.

I understand your point but I think you are forgetting something.
Let me say something that we all know about homeworld:
Homeworld seems to be a place where the gems have a Hierarchy.
And not just that, homeworld seems to be the kind of place where you are born to be what they say you should.
This is kind of proven by the way Peridot used to think.
You know, Peridots seems to be the ones that gather technological knowledge in the Homeworld society, and when Peridot saw that Pearl could build a Robot, almost as good as the one she built, she was surprised.
That's because in homeworld a Pearl will always be just a Pearl, and how is that? Well, Pearls will never have any access to knowledge they don't need to, so they will only be what they are "made to be", and by what we have saw up till now... Pearls in homeworld looks to be some kind of "slave" that a higher gem can choose to have.
Now how this can be related to Rose and the Crystal Gems? Well, this way of life that homeworld seems to have may be the reason for Rose's rebellion.
I believe what Rose really saw on earth that made her start a rebellion against her homeworld wasn't the beauty of our nature and wasn't all the forms of life here on earth... I think it was the way humans lived their lives, the way we can choose what we are going to do in our future, even having so much less time then a gem in our lives. You know, we can study anything we want and be whatever we want, of course we have laws and we have to follow them in order to keep peace but we still are free to choose how we're going to live our life.
I think this concept of freedom made Rose change her mind and that's why pearl said that Rose made her feel she was everything. That's probably because Rose believed that no matter who you are, you can be whatever you want to.
If you think about it, that's probably why Garnet is a crystal gem as well, homeworld seems to have laws against fusions, against relationships between minor and higher gems, so Ruby and Saphire would never be able to be together, because they couldn't choose what they wanted to do.
Peridot asked what Garnet was doing, and Garnet said she was star gazing.
Peridot replied "You can do it alone", ans Garnet said she didn't wanted to.
Garnet wants to be Garnet, because Ruby and Saphire want to be together, and Rose showed them, that they could be together if they wanted. Rose showed them what is like to be free to do what they wanted.
So it's not just a matter of "oh, every gem that appeared so far became a crystal gem".
It's not like that, it's the ones that somehow managed to have enough time with the gems, and most importantly with Steven, to be able to understand the concept of how is to be living here in earth, the concept of friendship whithout hierarchy and of course the concept of being free to chose what you are going to do.
So if Jasper is lost at sea, just like AJ stated in his video, maybe, just maybe, by not being able to go back to her homeworld, she'll start making decisions for herself, she'll already start to live like a human being lives without even talking with steven or the crystal gems, she'll be free, but probably she'll be going to need help, maybe her gem is broken, maybe she just don't want to be left alone.
And after understanding freedom, and being helped by someone, she can start to see how homeworld ways can be wrong, she'll see why Rose Quarts suddenly were so devoted to earth.
So it's not like they are just joining a new team because of nothing.
This Gems are learning a new way to live their lives, and actually it's a better way.
^ And by all this we can assume that, almost every gem that have a good amount of time spent here on earth and some good interaction with the crystal gems and mostly important Steven can become a crystal gem.
But this also means that, the ones that don't have this time and interaction, will not.
So if a spaceship arrives with a lot of gems to attack earth, they'll not change their minds.
They will just keep the homeworld way and do as they are being told.
Right, as of now, both ideas can and can't work, because we know so little about jasper's true personality other than being a loyal warrior, we will just need to wait and see for what comes.
Whatever does happens, i'll still like the decision the crewniverse takes.
I wonder if there's going to be an episode dedicated to just the time Jasper and Lapis spent inside the fusion like just a flashback of Lapis explaining the whole story like Garnet did. Are we gonna get their equivalent of Island Adventure but inside their minds? Maybe that's what Alone at Sea is...
I would LOVE to see that, and I hope the Steven Universe Crew does so. The show is very relationship oriented, on what is healthy in a relationship and what isn't, and Malachite was stated to be a toxic relationship, so I'd love to see how they showed it. Personally, I'd like to see it from both Jasper and Lapis, as I don't see their characters as black and white. I feel like Jasper must have suffered as much as Lapis did in their fusion, and would like to see more protrial of Lapis being "bad". I'd like to go on and on more about it, but I'm not really good at explaining things.

Bruno Franco I really like the idea of Jasper and Lapis joining the Crystal Gems, but in all honesty I think only one of them will. I like Lapis, but if I remember correctly, she's an aristocratic gem, and not only that, but she was there when Garnet first fused. I think she'll be hostile to Garnet and the others, especially with all of them being lower classes gems, but I feel like she'll have a "I'm better than you so therefore I'm right" kind of attitude. I don't know yet, but the sneak peek of the next episode does seem really cute. I don't know if Lapis will actually act as hostile as I imagine her to act, but oh well, it's just a thought. (Sorry I'm kinda ranting to you.)

I don't see Japser remaining an antagonist forever. The way this show seems to be going, it seems like Steven likes to defeat all of his enemies by making them into his friends. That's what happened with Lapis, that's what happened with Peridot, and that's probably what's going to happen to Jasper. The next time Steven encounters Jasper, I think he's going to try and befriend her and we'll get to see what her full motivations are and from then he'll probably bring her around eventually. I can also see Jasper revealing more about Steven's mother, there definitely seems to be more going on with her.
I really don't care about Jasper getting a redemption or not. But I seriously doubt that the writers would kill her off just like that considering how popular she is.

+Liam Biniares It's not about popularity. Steven Universe isn't about lazy stories like Jasper falling into a crack in the earth and dying. No; that's too lazy, too simple, too boring. Killing off a character like that is cheap. The Crewniverse would never good that. They come up with excellent story arcs so killing of Jasper like that is just lame (for lack of a better term). Also, it's been confirmed that Jasper will have an arc like Lapis and Peridot.

Alone at Sea could be a Jasper-centric episode, and Gem Hunt could be the episode they actually find Jasper (with Steven healing Jasper's gem if it's cracked.) Greg the Baby-sitter, the episode between the 2, could be when the CGs start the search, and Greg stays behind with Peridot (thus being the baby-sitter, so to speak.) // I think I would like if the Greg the Baby-sitter episode is a Greg and Peridot episode. There's a lot to be learned from those 2 hanging out while the CGs look for Jasper.

Would Jasper even be welcome back in homeworld. She failed her mission, fused with a captive, was captured by said captive, and defeated by the crystal gems. She all-around failed her mission and then some. I don't think Yellow Diamond would even want her back
That could be interesting if jasper tries going back to home world and then yellow diamond does not want to even see jasper since she failed her mission so jasper will have a change of point she leaves home world goes back to earth and explains on why she will join the crystal gems

In the latest episode, the Rubys were looking for Jasper. Yellow Diamond probably wants information and Jasper's the only one who would give it to her.
It could certainly go down this way, and I would love to see Jasperdemption, but I don't know, a few things bother me about it...
1. A major theme with Jasper is her progressive infatuation with fusion as a means of gaining ultimate power. She goes from calling it a "cheap trick" to thanking the CGs for "showing her a whole new world of possibilities" as Jasper-dominant Malachite. I just don't see Jasper giving up on this idea any time soon; if anything, it may well develop into an obsession, a monomania...
2. Jasper fell into the Earth. The Cluster is deep in the Earth. As a high-ranking solider of Homeworld and Peridot's escort, she almost certainly knows it is down there (in fact, IIRC, Peridot mentions it in conversation with her in Jail Break). These two Chekov's Guns will NOT remain unresolved, and what better way then to bring back both at once? I won't try to argue with the counterpoints in this video because I agree with them, but I will also just say that I would not underestimate Jasper's tenacity and hard-headedness (literally).
So...if Jasper really is dead set on controlling the ultimate fusion, what better way than to do something reckless like fuse with the Cluster?
Her trying to subjugate millions of fallen soldiers could be really interesting. She would be the only whole gem there. She had trouble just controlling Lapis in Malachite, but now she has experience dealing with an antagonistic fusion. Her drive might just see it through...

Jasper is definitely not dead, I couldn't believe how many people thought that. I'm sure that her gem is cracked, because there just isn't any other reason to hide her face. I think that she might react differently to having her gem cracked than Amethyst and Lapis did, because those are the only instances that we've seen where a gem was cracked and they were very different. I also thought that there might be a chance that a cracked gem could lead to it becoming corrupted, and that may happen to Jasper. If it did it'd be very interesting to see how the gems deal with that and Steven might finally find a way to cure corrupted gems; I know it sounds a bit far-fetched but who knows. Oh and I will be so mad if they let this opportunity pass and Jasper doesn't get a redemption arc, but I'm pretty sure she will, the writers haven't let me down yet.
btw I loved your analysis on the ways Jasper could interact and be of help to the CG, now I'm even *more* excited for the rest of the season :)

I agree. My personal theory of what happens to Jasper is that she becomes weak. Think of it; it would be perfect. She would be totally vulnerable, setting her up for mercy and switching sides.
You do bring up a good thing about Rose, but really Greg and the Crystal Gems they have a very bias opinion of Rose which is only natural I am not mad at them for that, but for Steven to truly learn everything about Rose, he needs a un bias prospective.
Also mention how Jasper thinks what Homeworld is doing it right, well Peridot thought the same thing, or at least really believed in Yellow Diamond, when that believe was shattered by realize YD was not this wise logical ruler she thought she was, Peridot switched side, maybe something similar will happen with Jasper. I mean no one from Homeworld came to rescue her, but if Steven healed a injured Jasper, maybe that will change that. One one side, enemy saves her, the other side her so called allies deserted her.
My thoughts on Jasper, I sort of have an inkling on "How" the SU crew plans on getting Jasper where they need her to be to have even a slight chance at joining up with our little band of Gem misfits. That being said, with her personality the way it is ... there is only one reason I could think of for "why" Jasper would have any incentive to join up with Steven and it has to do with something she said when she first appeared when referring to rose. "I fought against her armies, I respected her tactics..."
With how militant and "soldier-like" Jasper is, I don't see her having a change of heart on the earth like both Lapis and Peridot seem to have the potential to do (though to be fair I'm not sure she had a strong opinion about the Earth itself, either way). Rather, I'm thinking it will be some physical act (not an emotional one) performed by Steven that will change her mind about him. The plethora of unique abilities that Steven has manifested and probably will continue to manifest (inconsistently admittedly) seems to be far beyond the capabilities of any single gem we've seen in this series. I have this feeling that any initial merit Jasper sees in him (at least at first) will stem from that factor.
In short, Jasper needs to "respect Rose's tactic of creating Steven", as strange as that is to say. Any growth that happens with her can occur after that point is reached, but with the way she has been presented as a character that's the only catalyst I can think of that would logically work. She's a soldier who experienced and survived the Gem Rebellion on the Diamond Side, I doubt a little time alone on a planet (one she's already been on I might add) will do the same thing to her that it did to Peridot.

At first, I wasn't so sure of a redemption for Jasper. She just seemed to head strong (no Pun intended) and too hypocritical for it, too me anyways. Although, after this video has changed my mind a bit. Especially how you mentioned that Jaspers Gem could possibly be cracked. Not sure if you noticed, but in SWI; when the WaterMelon Stevens were helping out hey launched some boulders at Malachite. One of the boulders distinctively hits Jaspers gem (With a really apparent sound and all) Could have just been a funny detail, but YOU KNOW how Steven Universe works.
My Theory is that, When Fusions form (most of the time anyways) the Gems become much larger ( Like Jasper's Gem, its litterly like the same size of her when they were Malachite.) What might have been a tiny dent on the Malachite gem might be a serious crack on the much smaller form. I dont think the forms dont work like Super Sayains or regenerative transformations as it is shown that the Gems usually take on what ever state of mind everyone was in before the poof or separation. Alexzandrite, Sugilite and Malchite prove that very well. Alexandrite is difficult to "Keep it Together" as soon as their is really any struggle between any of the three gems, so naturally when Alxendrite fuses normally and unfuses. Everyone is tired and exhausted yet relived. (Its like being trapped in a small room with your closes friends, true they are your friends but everyone wants to GTFO of that room. So they ether plan together to get out or its an all out brawl) Sugilite and Malachite show that ether gems can lose them selfs (I guess Garnet counts as well) they longer they are fused and yata yata yata (You could probably connect the dots in the end here)

I feel Jasper is going to be an anti hero much like everyone's favorite punching bag Lapis Lazuli. She I can see her being the type of character that is on the border line. you know like how peridot was at the beginning. She may see that there might be a better way to do things. However she is also loyal to home world. I would have to say that for her to get some redemption she would have to have the one thing that she loves forsake her. That may happen and she will not be best friends with them but have a better understanding of their cause. She wont be on anyone's side and will play as a key to hone steven to being the crystal Gem he wants to be. He implies to be like his mother when he grows up in the song. Who better then someone that was always butting heads with her. I could be wrong but I think Jasper really liked Rose and sees her as priority cause she felt betrayed by her. she was someone high in the army on home world. She hates his creation. Though she still cares for rose. Like shadow the Hedgehog and Maria Robotnik. So she will to speak to her through her son. make him strong so she can fight Rose quarts and make sense of this.

I think it'll be cool if we find out that before the war she and rose were really close. If it's true, I wonder how she'll react when she finds out that Rose is gone and replaced by Steven :-P
That would actually be fantastic... and would explain why Jasper is so focused on Rose, apart from the fact that she's incredibly strong and turned her back on homeworld. Having a more personal stake in it would make Jasper's actions seem a lot more reasonable and relatable.

When i first saw the character i found her...ugly and kinda like one of those Over powered OC(s) people make...you know what im talking about.
The Fandom tumblr blogs actually got me liking Cheeto Mama. They're alot faster then CN and built Jasper to actually be likable in different ways. one Ex: Jasper joins the crystal gems, She goes off on missions, she watches tv with steven alot, she tries to earn over all the other gems respect, she cleans up the kindergarten of machines and the other gems end up helping her. There's alot more then just that but it's one of my favorites.
The fandom has kinda built Many versions of Jasper. From good guy to antagonist.

Yeah that would be pretty beneath the writers to throw Jasper into status quo land like that. But the crew did mention that Jasper is complicated, so she'll probably be one of the unique examples of a character that goes through a bunch of changes and isn't just an antagonist for the whole series.

Jasper(at least for the time being) will probably continue to apprehend the Crystal Gems, with her being marooned on a planet by their hands. Her goal is to ultimately return to Yellow Diamond with her discoveries on the persisting rebellion, the stark advantages of unique fusions like Garnet, the cluster, and telling her what Lapis feared she would reveal about Steven. If she is trapped underground it could be sometime before she emerges, and if she has a cracked gem, she will (as said) have to cope with the environment of Earth and its resources. I have the feeling she will rendez vous with the watermelon Stevens and perhaps find a more civil and advantageous relationship with them in order to heal(which the watermelons might have as a power from Steven)
another idea is that the Crystal gems seek her out after the fact and try to bubble her gem if she is found, which could lead to an arc where they try to find her.

Just something I remembered from when she was Malachite or how ever you spell it... Jasper was talking in the fusion and she said "you know what your right *there is something more to this fusion thing,* it's not just a cheap tactic..". I'm not saying she's going to join the crystal gems, but I don't think she going to be too happy with home world either, they frown upon cross-fusion, why? Obviously so their isn't an uprising, so the Diamonds are in authority and if they cross-fused then they might even be stronger than a diamond. This way with cross-fusion Jasper could escape her social class if that makes since.

Id love to see the viewpoints of Rose between Pearl and Jasper clash leading for Steven to calmly intervene and say... "guys Rose is gone, and shes not coming back." I feel it would provide a lot of emotional clarity for the cast. Something they all know but not all have fully accepted yet or addressed.

You know, before watching this I thought that a Jasper redemption was impossible. But now I think that it could be very intresting, and a good way for the Crewniverse to open up and branch out to many diffrent story arcs, and maybe start expanding the Crystal Gems' ranks again.

I'm going to call that Jasper might EVENTUALLY be the seventh party member but there's going to be a pretty solid period of time where, much like Peridot, she's acting as a serious antagonist for the group instead and I feel like we'll get another even more dangerous antagonist for the group to deal with before Jasper joins to give the group something to be concerned about and spark conflict in the meantime.

hey did you guys notice that the crystal gems are gaining more and more allies (I think that there might be another war that the. gems are training Steven for) they trained Connie and during that episode she said "I understand your destiny now" maybe Steven will win the war that will put him in charge of "HOMEWORLD"
Given that Jasper and Lapis' color palettes are complimentary, it's possible that they'll fuse again, but on the Crystal Gems' side to fight along side Alexandrite in future episodes, but that seems too obvious of a theory possibility to be original haha.

y'know how rose described meeting the rest of the crystal gems as 'three big stories'? I think that peridot, lapis and jasper are Steven's 3 stories! we've seen peridot's redemption already in the last Steven bomb. I'm certain that we are starting lapis', so the third one may be jasper's!
interesting of note is that pearl was the first of rose's stories and peridot of steven's, and pearl and peridot are the type of gems inclined to technology, and strategy and being the rational ones! lapis and garnet are both very powerful gems with (past for garnet) issues about loyalty to homeworld, and amethyst and jasper both are quartz gems (other than we will have to see from more of jasper's character) I thought these were pretty interesting coincidences!!
I hope she doesn't become good. I love the idea of bad guys becoming good, but by now we've had peridot, and lapis will probably become a crystal gem. I just feel like jasper turning good would make the concept stale.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Jasper sort-of became a weird romantic interest for Lapis? While they did kind-of get drawn into a toxic fusion, she did seem to be enjoying fusion and it would let them understand eachother to some extent. Lapis seemed to be pretty traumatized by the event but it could be interesting if it was like a one-sided romance. I mean, it sounds crazy, but they've done a similar thing before with Ruby and Sapphire (a battle-hardened fighter getting with an elegant aristocrat) and I just like the possibilities that it opens up from a character perspective. Like it could even end up as the sort of thing where Jasper opens up and then just has to accept that it isn't going to happen and is forced to move on, which kind-of at least feels like something the show would do in an attempt to put a twist on a common trope or something.

Actually, we could go a step further. Towards the end of the fight, Malachite gets hit straight in the nose by Satellite's Gauntlet, whip, weapon. The blow sounded pretty damaging to me.

Hmm, you're right. We _did_ see her gem afterwards, but perhaps it was a hairline fracture that progressively got worse, especially after such a forceful diffusion. Because that hit to the face sounded pretty bad.
If the writers go the route of the redemption arc, I think it will start with one of the CGs (most likely Steven) saving her life. While Jasper is definatly ruthless, I don't think it's a streach to assume that she has some form of honor and would likely try to repay anyone she finds herself endebted to. I can just imagine Jasper following Steven around like a bodyguard, reluctantly doing small favors for him all in the attempt to clear her debt so she can later shatter him, only to find that she likes human food. Rebecca Suger you beautiful briliant woman, please this (and my fanfiction) come true.

It would be interesting to have a Jasper's redemption arc. She may have done a lot of destruction and cruel things, but I don't want her to die. To see her suffer the consequences and receive punishment is fairly reasonable, but to erase her from the show is a little morbid. Just let the Crewniverse decide on what's gonna happen. Alone at Sea is probably a hint that Jasper is the central character. It's just a hypothesis and I may be either 50-50 or mostly wrong if it's not the expected outcome.
Well, from "Hit the Diamond" it seems like the gem Empire's retirement plan is similar to the Sith.
So, she might become good out of necessity.
My headcannon is that jasper will bocome like Vegeta and only help either side when she wants to, constantly challenging garnet and after being healed by steven she always protects him and realizes that hes a different gem then rose. (but still being a jackass and hindering everyone )
I'm surprised you didnt mention Malachite telling the Crystal Gems that they were right about Fusions. Im sure that means Jaspers perspective has changed a little.
If Jasper does become apart of the group I get the feeling that it will be like Vegeta situation always promising that she'll have a rematch with Garnet but there will be alot of distractions getting in her way to do so until something forces her and Garnet in a gladitorial type of match

Well Lapis woke up in only one day and she was straining herself for one month keep Jasper under the ocean for about so Jasper doesn't attack the gems. So it's possible that jasper is awake right now. It IS possible she is in pain or she climbed to the surface. If she's in pain she might be trying to find help, if not she might be trying to find her way off the island and possibly noticed the warp pad is broken. One way or another, she's alive up to something.
I'm glad you mentioned the idea that Jasper's gem may have been cracked. My friend immediately thought it was suspicious they didn't show her face and thought it was because it got cracked.
That would be an interesting idea to work off of moving forward with her arc.

You also forgot to mention that malachite said "You know your right, their really is something to this fusion thing. It's NOT just a cheap trick. You've really shown me a whole new world of possibilities. Allow me to thank you.". As if she was seeing the concept of cross fusions in a positive light or it's usefulness, a complete 180 from when she kept referring to Garnet as a "shameful display", and fusion as a "cheap trick". Since Malachite is both Lapis and Jasper you could argue that it was Lapis who was accepting cross fusion, but it was said that Lapis (who was doing her best to NOT fight the Crystal Gems) was losing control. Therefor I believe Lapis lost all control before this line was uttered by Malachite. This moment is when I believe Jasper found a reason to question the Diamond authority's laws, or at least their law against cross fusion. Her first step to understanding what's wrong with her governments concepts. I think she will soon come to appreciate organic life and further have more reasons to abandon her old beliefs.
As unlikely as it is, I would love to see Jasper interacting with Steven and being able to tell him stories about her feats in battle. Personally, Rose is one of the most fascinating characters and (personally) the mystery I really want to explore the most. Allowing Steven to learn another side of her (and therefore possibly himself) could be very eye-opening for both him and us as an audience
Yeah Jasper can give Steven and us an un-romanticized perspective of the war and Rose Quartz's exploits during the rebellion. We can't really rely on the Crystal Gems to do that because they either weren't around to know what happened or they were but they want to spare Steven the hard truths about what exactly went on (probably because they fear that Steven may develop a negative outlook on them). And now the ominous chanting from the In Too Deep promo is creeping up on me again........"Who we Really Are." :/
Yeah, I agree, this theory is also supported by "camp pining hearts" double easter egg, which foreshadows the relationships between characters. There, we can see some character that would be like Jasper interacting with other gems.
Totally Agree. She may be underwater, trying to find a way to get out, lost, cracked or recovering. There might be a posibility she was ok, sent a messege to homeworld resulting on Hit the diamond episode, since the rubies didnt wanted peridot, but Jasper. And why did they sent a lower range warriors as the rubies to search for her, and that many? Either they ally to hunt down the crystal gems, or they want to punish jasper, giving the gems a chance to defend jasper and making her change her heart to join the crystal gems.
Wow, someone actually caused me to like Jasper again. For the longest time, the fandom (mostly tumblr) had ruined Jasper for me. Now I can actually enjoy the thought of her interacting with the Crystal Gems.
I feel like the only one who really doesn't want the inevitable Jasper redemption plot. Malachite... that entire character is a metaphor for abusive relationships, and Lapis is a member of the main cast now. The crewniverse tends to be pretty conscious about that sort of thing- that's why they included it in the first place, after all. Knowing the realities that abuse victims live in, and Lapis' reaction to Peridot, it would be pretty messed to me if they were to kiss and make up at any point in time, regardless of the circumstances.
I noticed something about the redemption stories of the gems so far. Of course it isn't a new theory that steven will lead 3 gems into the crystal gems like rose, but I noticed that there are a lot of similarities, and direct opposites, in the redemption stories so far. Peridot and pearl are quite similar. Pearl joined Rose, betraying homeworld, and followed her morals. Peridot joined Steven, betraying homeworld, and applied the morals of the crystal gems as a motive for joining them. For me, there isn't enough information on Pearl to make more comparisons, but I may have missed some. Lapis and Garnet have many similarities and contrasting differences. Both were sent to earth presumably for missions. Both became trapped on Earth due to events caused by the rebellion, and both had to accept their new lives on Earth in the end. Both stories involve fusions, but in opposite ways. Garnet wanting to stay a fusion, and Lapis not wanting to be fused...
...(not considering her will to trap Jasper, but how it isn't something she enjoyed). There is also the small difference of pearl not being immediately accepting of Garnet and Lapis not accepting Peridot (the characters switch roles in each senario). If we knew more about Amethyst's story, we could possibly make more predictions on Jasper's story, based on how many similarities are present in the current redemption stories.
Lost at sea- solo story about Jasper in the sea and manages to set up a distress signal or something
Gem Hunt (2 episodes later)- Peridot finds out Jasper's signal and tells the Gems, they *hunt* for her
While I would I have every confidence that the crew would do an amazing job on a Jasper redemption arc, I kind of want her to start on a redemption arc and then go back to Homeworld. I think that would be really interesting and complex.

It seems that a lot of people think that if Jasper also got a redemption arc that it would undermine Peridot's, but I disagree. Along with all of AJ's points, I think it would be pretty awesome to see Jasper switch sides - possibly in season 4 - and find out what this apparently complex personality is. There must be more to Jasper than all that aggression. What does she care about other than homeworld's empire? And I mean, it's not that far fetched, stuff like that has happened before. Think about the last season of Avatar and Prince Zuko seeing the error in his ways. That was awesome. And think about the overall message of Steven Universe! I think it would fit really well. I can't wait.
i would also enjoy more Jasper floating around out there, if not as a Crystal Gem or a villain, she would be an amazing character for deep stories and war flashbacks in my opinion so i love what you had to say about this
I went into this ready to rant about how I hoped Jasper didn't become good, but after hearing your ideas about her redemption, now I really look forward to seeing something like this happen!
