I was also able to get the RR 15 for MSRP and love it. Smokeye Hill is from Private Label Distillery just down the street from me here in Colorado Springs. To me it does not beat GTS, but it does beat a couple recent Stagg Jr's.
If you're at all insterested in having your new bottel backlighting do effects/chagne color I can help ya out - can use cheap ESP boards and free firmware to controll them over wifi. Also.. I got lucky and scored 2x RR15's at that VA drop :)
Awesome you scored 2 of the RR15s. I’m looking for a backup myself. Do me a favor and email me your info. I don’t think I need it now, I’m hoping to change all my shelving soon but maybe after there I’ll try and make the lights look cooler. Appreciate the offer!
I can tell you 75% is 15 year old and 25% is 16 year. That was in the press release. Whisky advocates and a few others said the barrels were as low as 17-19 gallons left in the barrels. And rumors said Bruce Russell said there was about 900 barrels used, which would make sense since they are closing Rickhouse C. Doing some quick math that would be on average of 81k standard 750's. But who's to know when they want to keep up the hype!
Not a wild turkey fan so I would never pay that much for the 15, i could get many bottles of juice that I like for that price. I'd pay $80 for the smoke eye but that's all. 😉🥃👍Cheers
I host bourbon shares every other month if you’re interested in attending. I’m from Culpeper but a lot of my guest come from as far as VA Beach, Williamsburg, DE, MD etc. my farthest guest was Hunter the TH-camr of bourbon hunter he came all the way up from SC. I also have several TH-camrs attend as well. If you’re interested I can send you an invite through email. Hope you can make it.

Agree, it’s very good but not quite GTS level.
Thanks for the review.

Good review, Iva had RR 15 it’s amazing! Being wondering about the Smoke Eye. May try and get one.
Great bottle for $85, unfortunately their distribution is not great so you’ll likely have to order online and pay shipping.
Nice reviews, cheers
