I seriously wish I was in your class. I am in this advanced math program at my school, and I am currently taking 2 math courses (yay math!), algebra II and geometry, and it has been hard since my teacher barely teaches. You teach so much better and more energetic than ANY of my teachers. Thank you for posting these. Now I might do well this semester! (: You're students are very lucky.
Basically, my teacher hates me, so she is not willing to help me out at all because she thinks I'm a slacker. I have a HUGE test tomorrow over ellipses, and I thank you so much for posting these. You have saved my life, and I might actually graduate on the recommended plan because of you. Keep it up! Thanks again!
I'm sorry but I just need to take time out of my day to tell you that you seem like an amazing person. You've changed my view on what a teacher can be and i hope you continue to be an amazing teacher and you have an amazing career.
I don't even bother paying attention in class because I won't learn. I purposely zone out and work on other things then come here and learn it 10x faster.
OMG. Im a little upset because all year long i have been struggling with my Algebra 2 honors class and i couldn't seem to find any videos that actually help and now in my last day of School i find this guy. Hes a great teacher and explains everything and the fact that there's student asking questions helps out even more. !!! wish i had found you earlier. Do you make Pre Calc Videos by any chance since im moving on next year?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! CAN YOU PLEASE BE MY TEACHER!!!!!! YOUR STUDENTS DONT KNOW HOW GOOD THEY HAVE IT, I WOULD DIE TO HAVE YOU AS A TEACHER. MY TEACHER TALKS WAY TO FAST AND WHEN HE WORK PROBLEMS IN CLASS FOR US, ITS LIKE HE TRIES TO EXPLAIN IT THE HARDEST WAY POSSIBLE
Sir I just want you to know you're the best mathematics teacher on you tube. Out of all videos I stumbled upon yours is what I found most informative and fun. I wish I am one of your students. Keep smiling and awesome!!!
you are literally like the best teacher ever. please never stop making these videos!! they're SO helpful. I hope you're teaching trig/pre-calc next year!!
OMG thank you! Im taking Algerbra II for summer school, to get ahead, and so its me a teacher and 6 weeks to cram every chapter in. :0 Hard to learn all this without a good teacher.
Thanks a lot man. I am actually in college and studying for my Fundamentals of Engineering exam and I haven't learned conic sections in highschool or college (or maybe I forgot I did) but this helps a lot. Keep doing a great job
You have taught me more in 26 minutes than i have been able to learn the whole school year. Thank you so much now i am confident going into my final exam.
Thank you for the help. You help me under ellipses to the max. If I would of watch this video I would of fail my final tomorrow. Once again thank you. Hope to see more awesome videos on math.
I'm in college now (using your vids for my pre-calc class EXTREMELY HELPFUL!) but if your looking for schools in the Chicago area i suggest looking towards Saint Francis, which was my old school your style of teaching would fit perfectly there also Wheaton Warrenville South i feel is always expanding. However a teacher like you should find employment easily the board just needs to watch your videos and you'll be hired on the spot
Thank you so much you are the best teacher in the world. conic section ellipse was so difficult for me but after I had watched this great video it became really easy.
Wow thanks you taught this well I'm only in geometry but when I take algebra 2 I want to know what I'm doing before I take it so this helped me a lot!!!!
Focal points: an ellipse can be defined as the collection of points sorrounding both focal points in a way that the distance from any point on the ellipse to a focii PLUS the distance to the other focii is always the same ... a body graviting around another (earth-sun) moves in an ellipse with the sun at one of the focii...but there is nothing at all in the other focii ! thanks and congrats for the video
I'm definitely interested! Recently I was in Chicago and visited a few schools during my trip. If the faculty at your school is interested in having me visit, please email me Robert@yaymath.org and I'd be more than happy to make it happen.
I wish my class was like this and my teacher was like you because she sucks as a teacher but you actually involve students which helps them learn all my teacher does is tells us really fast and no one passes her class but I bet a lot pass your class.
Hi, I have this chapter in my book and I looked on it, but it does not talk about a and b, like you are saying in this video. I mean when you say (a ) it is always a big number. the book says ( a ) it is always under (x), so can you explain that please?
An ellipse is not a section of a cone, it is a section of a cylinder. You can get an ellipse if you slice through a cone parallel to the base but in all other cases you get an egg shape.
You're joking right. Slicing with planes parallel to base will give cross-sectional circles. Slicing a cone at an angle between 90 degrees and the semi-vertical angle of the cone will give an ellipse. An ellipse can be in an egg shape.
I have a problem with semi ellipse. Please help. "A tent in the form of semi ellipse with width of the base 16 metres, its height 20/3 metres. What is the width of the tent at the height of 10/3 metres from the base?'
If you take any point on the ellipse and measure its distance from each of the 2 foci, then add these 2 distances, it will always equal the length of the major axis.
I wish my math teacher was that energetic
It took me so long to find an example of a off-centre vertical ellipse. THANK YOU
You're totally right; it's asked all the time on tests so it's important to have a comprehensive video on it.

Better math teacher than most of the math teachers I've had
David Coupel funnier too

best math teacher I ever seen.
bishal biswas studying for finals?
this class is way more energetic than any of the math classes I've ever had in my life lol
My teacher made me watch this in class... i guess because youre a better teacher lol
Sir I just want you to know you're the best mathematics teacher on you tube. Out of all videos I stumbled upon yours is what I found most informative and fun. I wish I am one of your students. Keep smiling and awesome!!!
nice ovaling skillz 15:49 (also great teaching skills, and that cleared up and grounded down quite a few concepts for me, so thanks a lot!)
never seen math as interesting ! Great job explaining .
bless this man! college entrance exams on the way here. your videos are always a huge help!

YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!! i actually feel prepared for my math test tomorrow! thanks!!!!
Finely got it!!!!! Thank you very much, Yaymath. I liked the way you simplify it.
Hi ur teaching was very energetic that no child could feel bored in ur class I wish my lecturer should be like u
Im glad i found this channel. This has helped me so much in my high school years. Thank you.
Great video! Wish my math teachers would be this supportive and helpful!
you helped me understand this in one day when i couldnt understand it in my class for the majority of the chapter in my class
Thank you for the help. You help me under ellipses to the max. If I would of watch this video I would of fail my final tomorrow. Once again thank you. Hope to see more awesome videos on math.
OmG!! May God bless the professor!! He's so good!!! I wish I was his class!!!
Thank You, Teacher Robert for sharing your videos.
You're always a big help and an inspiration to love Math :-)

Best tutor so far.. dayum
Thank you so much you are the best teacher in the world. conic section ellipse was so difficult for me but after I had watched this great video it became really easy.
Need more teachers like you!!!!
omg this math teacher makes me feel energetic and learn that math is fun
Thanks so so so much!
I was having a lot of trouble with this chapter but it's helped a lot and cleared a lot of my questions!
YOU THE BOMB.
I have to give a presentation on ellipses and this the is most helpful thing ever omg BLESS YOU
Wow thanks you taught this well I'm only in geometry but when I take algebra 2 I want to know what I'm doing before I take it so this helped me a lot!!!!
dude, you're awesome! im brazilian and couldnt understand anything in videos in portuguese! even in english, you kill it!
The fact that its 2024 and this is still helping me
Henry... you got it. That's one of the reasons math is so beautiful. It's evergreen. What about 2034, or 2064? Same impact? Your thoughts...?

Your videos are awesome! Thanks so much!
I agree this has helped me a ton since my teacher cannot teach for his life, but he is pretty smart so I guess thats how he got his job.
this teacher is lit lmfao
Terrific teacher who makes learning so simple and enjoyable.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this great video. Keep up the great work 😃
Nice video I admire your dedication to teaching! Also Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all of your help. Keep up the excellent work.
A very very good math teacher
Please come be my math teacher! I'd love to have you as a teacher.
how do you find the vertices?
I wish my class was like this and my teacher was like you because she sucks as a teacher but you actually involve students which helps them learn all my teacher does is tells us really fast and no one passes her class but I bet a lot pass your class.
such an awesome class
I am now able to understand Algebra,
Thanks a ton!
I'm having this topic now on my board exams review. Wish me luck for my Liscensure exam..
Good luck! Get after it.
Thank you.. You're such an inspiration to us engineering students especially to your viewers in state/university colleges in the Philippines 🇵🇭
@@eddxiersjeyjabagat6624 you inspire me with your dedication.
Thank you so much you gave me hope for my test tomorrow 😭

This is truly a great help. keep on the hard work
best part was 19:59
thanks man i wanna go to your school now
could you please tell me how can I obtain the vertices and end points.
Life saver for finals tomm morning lol
well that was scary :) @ 20:00 I wish my math teacher was that energetic....
Yay! Thank you!
God bless you man!!!! You're saving my math grade :D
I WANNA BE IN YOUR CLASS :)
It's actually better than you think :D
-Student in his class (legit)
Rochster Myeh why isn't he dressed nice like regular teachers? :P
Dude, thanks!
How did you get (5,0) and picture(-1,0) as b?
love this dude!!!
6:09 A planet doesn't orbit over the two focii. It orbits over just one of them.
Nice way of teaching, thanks for helping!
thank you you are very good teacher
Thanks Yaymath @ 2:16AM :D
@musicpercussion56 all my teacher says is "ok alright now guys" and "get your ducks in a row" and "im gona be a straight shooter with you guys"
How do you know what the major & minor axis values are? How do you find them?
major=2a,minor=2b
Poe Dameron took a break from shooting down tie fighters to become a math teacher

Thanks u helped me in my final exams
nice lesson
thank you so much!! :) yay math!
thanks a bunch. youre a great teacher
Thank you so much!!! Shheeeeesh this was good. Absolute slapper.
If the parabola equation is given like this X^2+4x+6y-8=0. How do you find the vertex and the focus??
How do you find the latus rectum length? I love your videos by the way!!
This is really great kind of teaching
GREAT VIDEOS! learning so much frmo your videos! Thanks!
thank you very much.
How do you get the full length yaymath video
AHH absolutely LOVED this video. T'was super helpful and funny! :-)
Can you solve it with a negative a² or negative b²?
thank u very much dear
WOW! your totally way better than my math professor... looks like I will be taking MATH 12 again. You explain it much better than him.
great video! it helped a lot
could A^2 and b^2 be the same number and could the focii be the same point as the endpoints of the ellipses?
sir how about the two latus rectum of the ellipse??
I have a problem with semi ellipse. Please help. "A tent in the form of semi ellipse with width of the base 16 metres, its height 20/3 metres. What is the width of the tent at the height of 10/3 metres from the base?'
focal width? =( fw= 2(semiMinor^2 )/semimajor
Thank you SO MUCH!

He is so good!!!
too nice for a teacher especially math lol
God how I wish you were my math teacher.
