Hey, here's a quick note on a good video. The 'Suix Scout' should be pronounced like Sue-Scout (like short for Suzane or lawsuit). The Suix are a cultural-linguistic group of Native Americans on the plains. (This is the group in Dances with Wolves.) The name follows American military naming conventions, being named after native tribes and tools, such as the Iroquois, Apache, and Tomahawk. The Suix, more accurately, like Dakota or Lakota, are different groups within a large Native American onion. Suix is a a pejorative term based on an enemy group that means 'Snake in the Grass'. (My group is the Ojibwe, who gave them their name. They are similar but not quite the guys in Last of the Mohicans.) However, some bands call themselves Suix. It's complicated... colonialism does that.
To Clarify some of these terms like band and tribe, this will explain. These are all present, but to different degrees, and have unique aspects based on each Native group. Remember, Native Americans were subject to heavy colonization within some people's living memories. So, the distinction between Band and Tribe and whatnot can get tricky. Not least of all, there are comparatively few of us, and that's after 500 years of significant population decline. Plus, all kinds of bureaucratic quackery. Anyways These are listed in order of most to least importance and personal alignment. All are important, though. The band is like your hamlet/village of people. Lots of families are in a band, and so on and so forth for the following entries. Tribe - is like a mix between State and Country. Larger organization - some Confederation or other means of larger loose organization. Ethno-Lingustic is your shared ethnic, religious, and cultural practices. Regional Type - basically where you live... Just because you live in the desert doesn't mean everyone there's Pueblo or they like Pueblo. (Pueblo is a group of Natives known for dense desert city dwellings.)
Man thabk you so much for the explanation! It makes alot more sense now! I didn't knew about natives that much. But this helped me alot! 💙💙 Thank you! o7
@@Bob_Dickinson NP. Native American history is fascinating, but it is one of those uniquely sad stories. South America had gigantic agrarian jungle cities that we can only discover NOW with LIDAR.) Remember that these two points are far apart in the timeline from the present back to contact. They had boarding schools that children were forced into that were more akin to a re-education camp. With all the horrible connotations it deserves, the government-funded this. They were around, though milder, until the 1990s. (It's not too dissimilar to the story in 'Rabbit Proof Fence,' but that's in Australia. Same Shit, different continent, am I right?) and The whole reason the Trans-Atlantic slave trade started was that the Caribbean burned through thousands of native enslaved people in a few decades, and in the North, Europeans didn't want to do tough jobs for little pay. In both cases, African peoples were used. (Wiki the history of James Town and The Tiano, respectively. Just know it's VERY not a beach reader.) Old World Disease resistant while being cheap thanks to the numerous slaving empires that arose across much of Western Africa. Not so fun fact: Back in 2018 the Brazilian Navy wanted to buy a helicopter carrier from the UK, together with it the navy wanted to buy second hand AH-1Ws from the US but because of budget constraints the helicopter deal never happened... But the Helicopter carrier deal went through. So now we have a helicopter carrier with no helicopters to carry. Sure, to be completely honest the Navy does operate transport and anti-submarine warfare helicopters from it but for a power projection tool such as a halicopter carrier it's a joke that there's no power to project and it's a waste of tax payers money..
this is 1000% soviet industrial copium but having a helicarrier dedicated to anti-sub warfare is not a bad idea. Unlike surface ships, you cannot simply torpedo an aircraft.
@@TheRocketdrive While what you say is true in the context of aircraft carriers anti-submarine assets are defensive assets, risking massive ships to send them submarine hunting is an atrocious misuse of resources. man how is it still in service because first war that it fought (1960s during the Vietnam war) then in the middle of it’s service, gulf war happens (1990s) and it’s still alive to this day.
The biggest reason? Because it's 60% Huey, having your medium utility/transport helicopter and your attack helicopter share a rotor, transmission, engine, tail assembly, tail rotor, and avionics means a large chunk of the logistics and maintenance pipeline is simplified and training requirements lowered. This drastically lowers operating costs. This is also why basically every nation that operates the Cobra also still operates Huey's. The second reason? It's skinny compared to every other attack helicopter program, from front on it's basically impossible to hit with Mk 1 Eyeball guided AAA and even radar guided AAA has trouble hitting it, making it very survivable. The third reason? Maritime and extreme environment capability, it is by far the most seaworthy attack helicopter and one of the better performers in extreme environments, especially hot and high environments where most other helicopters struggle. For example, during Pakistan and India's conflicts along their mountainous border there were more than a few engagements where the Pakistani Cobras were able to operate and provide support to their side at extreme altitudes, but the Indian Hinds couldn't do the same for theirs. The fourth reason? While the Apache was tested with Sidewinders and Sidearms, the Army went with the Stinger for it's air to air option, meanwhile the Cobra has had Sidewinder and Sidearm capability since the Whiskey Cobra, making it an effective helicopter and radar hunter if one were to so equip it.
Fun fact: those Jordanian Cobras donated to both Philippines and Kenya were the donated Israeli Cobra. They're wired to fire Spike ER making them the Tzefa variant. Also, the Philippines retired that 2 donated Cobra and their remaining OV-10 Bronco while being replaced by T129 Atak and A-29 Super Tucano, respectively.
Some of Jordan's cobras have also undergone a modernization program which uses the same avionics package as the UH 1Y and AH 1Z I believe, new MFD and camera and the new avionics allow it to use hellfires and APKWS guided rockets. And a new MAWS and CM dispenser

Pretty comprehensive Great presentation Mostly Good work A little misframing here and there but You put way more Contextual detail in and obviously know more than most Thanks My Man There’s also how the AH-1 designations during Vietnam would get pretty confusing with the rapid model additions to the Huey line This is why the UH-1C, which while yes, a direct update of the short body Hueys, was also purposely designed to be the standard Attack Huey during Vietnam by design, immediately fulfilling that role until the end of the gunship and short body Huey and Greater involvement in Vietnam Only partially replaced by the UH-1E, which if My memory is correct; later became the new standard for short body (now reserved as dedicated attack) Hueys Even though yes, it is literally an AH-1C and when used as such is objectively an AH-1C It’s Proper Formally denoted as UH-1C in documents and speech as UH in order to avoid confusion with the Cobra This all makes the name Huey Cobra make alot more sense but it’s still really Stupid so I definitely don’t miss that Very interesting lessons in the complexities of model designating Sad that it ever happened though This is why more modern practices would’ve named the Cobra the AH-2, even if they’re both the first Family of their Doctrinal lines, so that no confusion could possibly be made between the two different vehicle Families And they could’ve easily done so back then but chose to make things hard on themselves but they hadn’t thought through this much *(And some bureaucrat probably would’ve got uppity about it)* Very Good lessons to gain from this but again, really weird that this was ever a problem
The naming systems between the army and air force arent that different. M1A2 Abrams Sep V3 vs F-16C Block 52. Youve got designation and type M1 being the first MBT, F16 being 16 Fighter. A2 and C being variants of the vehicle that make major changes or specializations for different branches (Very explainable with the F-35 A/B/C), Sep V3 and Block 52 being smaller changes within those same variants.
Silly fact about the AH-1s from the Philippines: The moment they arrived the Armed Forces of the Philippines decided that they would buy the T129 and when they arrived immediately retired the Cobras of this year.
@1:53 Are we taking original Mi 24 hind or later variants? Because if we are taking original Mi 24 then it wasn't good at either it's roles as a transport nor attack helicopter and couldn't do both roles simultaneously as it was envisioned. And if it's later variant then we can thank Russian for blocking the South African upgrade kit ( Super hind ) that modernised the helicopter to NATO standard aswell as lightening it, gave it better engines and allowing it to use not only Russian missiles and guns but South African and NATO missiles and guns aswell.
Cobra: “I am the Alphabet!” Gotta thank the USSR for one thing My best Boy Sikorsky The Man’s legacy set the bar for General Medium Helicopter Doctrine, specifically Lesser and Medium Heavies, back in the 50s and 60s The only thing that really competes with that is how Bell set the specific bars for both the Medium Utility and Medium Attack Helicopter Everything since is then either an imitation or far from a basic helicopter 3:23 Eh, why are You upset? Welcome aboard! Glad you enjoyed it! :D❤
9:07 SO TRUE. Gaijin reeeeeally needs to nerf that thinks photo-contrast lock man… like buff the G-load as compensation if you must since that’s underpreforming, but at least let us be able to counter it to some extent. I wouldn’t hate it so much if someone just click in a single button didn’t sentence me to death every time.
2:25
i would fr react did same if i saw that to
God the music choices in these videos dude. 🙏🔥🔥
Thanks mate! Glad you like them ❤❤
This is what Kamov KA-50 looks like if transformed into Autobots/Decepticon. And I love it (also nice editing. Really enjoy. Subscribed.)
That's a wild thought! Thanks for the kind words. and welcome aboard! hope u enjoy the future content o7
Just two hours ago, I was thinking to myself: Man I'd love to see one of your Videos after getting recommended the Mi28 Video again.
Thx for making it, lol.
@@SoullessHunter5 ayy np mah man! Sry if it took a long time to make... I was busy with studies💙💙
@@Bob_Dickinson No Worries, it made me laugh quite a few times with the Jokes fitting right into my sense of Humor on it's less dark days...
@SoullessHunter5 im glad that i was able to make u laugh 😄😂
AH-1Z MENTIONED!!1!!!1!! Actually super informative video, still waiting for the AH-1Z video though. Still waiting.
Probably my 3rd favorite attack heli
I wonder if there will be future variants of the cobra. The AH-1Z proves that this platform is still viable.
9:05 talk about that "aerial artillery system" next please
Sure, ill get it on my list!
Cobras are cool but I love the UH-1C through and through. Awesome video though btw! Can’t wait to hear your rant about the Comanche if you haven’t already made a vid
Thanks, I appreciate it! And yeah the Comanche is definetly on the list, gotta do a vid on that some day.
God this is peak content. I'm glad your channel got recommended, can't wait for the Soviet stuff vids.
Glad you enjoyed my friend! Welcome aboard! I will be working on more projects soon! The Mil helicopters is one of them
Rip cheyane. Gone but not forgotten.
Well done Bob, I thought you scrapped the Cobra video, but when can we expect the Rooivalk video?
Thanks mate! This wasn't scrapped however there was a tier list for starter helicopters... I will rework that video again.
As for the rooivalk, maybe later when i get deeper in super 17, ill have a look at the rooivalk aswell
The stories of Mil and Kamov are really inspiring, and some of their designs are truly amazing. I have 2 helicopter models, the mi26 and mi24. Hope you make a video on Soviet helicopters
@@itsericzhou oh absolutely I will! The Russian helicopter industry especially on the mil side is absolutely incredible. He is one of my favourite designers out of all of the Russian engineers. I definitely will make a video on it DW.
Lmao Philippines just retired their Cobra's a couple weeks ago.
Bruh...
Did the T-129 completely replace the Cobra?
@@sneakysnek8416 hmmm.... Maybe? But im not sure. But the T-929 might do it though!
RIP the invictus. I would have loved to see it flourish.
23:45 Good Question
Short answer: Saudi Arabia
God i wish... :(
Bob its hopeless idk if you remember me, i still watch your vids to this day wish you all the best
@@GoneFishing-8373 hey what's up man I do remember you!
God I wish they'd just let me fly these out in air SIM games.
That would be interesting...
Pretty comprehensive
Great presentation
Mostly Good work
A little misframing here and there but You put way more Contextual detail in and obviously know more than most
Thanks My Man
There’s also how the AH-1 designations during Vietnam would get pretty confusing with the rapid model additions to the Huey line
This is why the UH-1C, which while yes, a direct update of the short body Hueys, was also purposely designed to be the standard Attack Huey during Vietnam by design, immediately fulfilling that role until the end of the gunship and short body Huey and Greater involvement in Vietnam
Only partially replaced by the UH-1E, which if My memory is correct; later became the new standard for short body (now reserved as dedicated attack) Hueys
Even though yes, it is literally an AH-1C and when used as such is objectively an AH-1C
It’s Proper Formally denoted as UH-1C in documents and speech as UH in order to avoid confusion with the Cobra
This all makes the name Huey Cobra make alot more sense but it’s still really Stupid so I definitely don’t miss that
Very interesting lessons in the complexities of model designating
Sad that it ever happened though
This is why more modern practices would’ve named the Cobra the AH-2, even if they’re both the first Family of their Doctrinal lines, so that no confusion could possibly be made between the two different vehicle Families
And they could’ve easily done so back then but chose to make things hard on themselves but they hadn’t thought through this much *(And some bureaucrat probably would’ve got uppity about it)*
Very Good lessons to gain from this but again, really weird that this was ever a problem
Iam a little bit mad since in Europe some countries started to buy up cobras and vipers to modernize I am referring to Czech air force mainly
Turkish Whiskeys were recently transferred to the navy to be used on the LHD.
Oh yea... UPDATE! The germans are now looking for a better helicopter than the UHT. Right now they are the potential customer of the AH-1Z
Silly fact about the AH-1s from the Philippines: The moment they arrived the Armed Forces of the Philippines decided that they would buy the T129 and when they arrived immediately retired the Cobras of this year.
Bruh... I guess they just wanted to have some for museum pieces???
@@Bob_Dickinson God I wish and hope they'll put it in the museum
@andsoiderparound9909 don't worry it wouldn't take them long...right?
Bob the Bad Biggies music in the background was the cherry on top for me. Fucking great
Lmao yea. GG!
Beautiful helecopter
Great video! You should talk about the flying ship, the Mi-24
tnx! i have to see if i can make a video on mil helicopters in general that would be amazing1 o7

Crazy how this thing is is soo nimble with just one engine

Why can’t u mention the forbidden nation?
i live in a country where i have to call israel "zionist regime" to not be mislabeled as an israeli spy by the gov.... u can guess which
@ oh
I remember seeing an image of a iranian cobra carriyng an agm65 maverick
Yea that was during the iran iraq war.
13:17 Lithuania mentioned
As a fellow War Thunder player, I also dislike Strelas.
Where are my Anti-Radar missles, Gaijin?
@1:53 Are we taking original Mi 24 hind or later variants? Because if we are taking original Mi 24 then it wasn't good at either it's roles as a transport nor attack helicopter and couldn't do both roles simultaneously as it was envisioned. And if it's later variant then we can thank Russian for blocking the South African upgrade kit ( Super hind ) that modernised the helicopter to NATO standard aswell as lightening it, gave it better engines and allowing it to use not only Russian missiles and guns but South African and NATO missiles and guns aswell.
Came for the Cobra, stayed for the jokes!
Thanks mah man!
Haha venom snake.Genius!
Nice work Bob
Thanks! I hope you enjoyed it!

Gotta thank the USSR for one thing

The Man’s legacy set the bar for General Medium Helicopter Doctrine, specifically Lesser and Medium Heavies, back in the 50s and 60s
The only thing that really competes with that is how Bell set the specific bars for both the Medium Utility and Medium Attack Helicopter
Everything since is then either an imitation or far from a basic helicopter
