If you still think his actions are justified as ‘protecting the village’ then it does beg the question, where the fuck was he during the assault of orochimaru, obito and even pain ? I am pretty sure danzo was on house arrest from the time of the Uchiha massacre all the way to Lady Tsunades appointment as hokage that's why he wasn't there for the orochimaru invasion and pain invasion he was hiding so he could become Hokage

This song represents Danzo perfectly. It's not as openly ominous like the Akatsuki's themes but it's quiet, mysterious, and creepy nonetheless. A silent and calm foreboding....

Danzo. He could be a scorpio. Thats mean from the outside. But is nice from the inside. I believe he was the person who was following orders without questioning about it. Even if the commander changed his mind. He's life was a choose wisely situation.
He is interesting, because he is a portrayal of a real position in politics and in intelligence operations. He will do whatever it takes to protect the village. This absolute position makes him impossible to deal with for others especially more moderate persons. He is a classic nationalist 'strike first' fanatic. Brilliant character. Really well written.

What a character Danzo was. I love the character development of Danzo for sure. He hides behind the leaves by protecting the Konaha and then he betrays the people by doing things like you know what that I can't say here. Loved every moment of how things turn out in Shippuden. I always knew something was messed up entirely way too much from what we already knew. But when Toby and others mentioned everything what he did and the thing with Shisui, JUST WOW! That's all I have to say.

Without him = no itachi betrayal, no sasuke betrayal, no wars, no Pain, no akatsuki and probably tobi would never be evil and without him orochimaru is nothing, so no madara. Danzo was the product of two great Shinobi Wars he didn’t sugar coat anything or pretend to be blind to the reality of his world. In my opinion he’s the purest ninja whether u liked him or not. People of his mindset were necessary for Survival. RIP The Foundation
Danzo killed his own people, wiped out entire clans under his care, tried to kill his leader and friends and tried to destroy his home multiple times all to obtain the title of Hokage. His actions created the Akatsuki and drove the Uchiha to extinction. He cared for nothing and no-one other than himself. Danzo did nothing right and made the world a worse place with every action he took.

I have zero idea why Danzo didn't like Shisui's alternative of Kotoamatsukami. It was like he found the perfect opportunity to annihilate them once and for all without considering the OPness of Kotoamatsukami which could've completely manipulated the clan members into removing all the ill feelings they had for the village

Danzo did what he did for the leaf. It was brutal, and fucked up, but he won the war before the battle even started manipulation or not. Dude was dangerous. I think Sasuke's victory over him was one of the most underrated W's of the entire series.

Mel he helped the village in many ways, he is the one who patrols the village more, he makes the meetings with kage privately, and he is the one who makes all the dirty decisions while the hokage do light paper work.

Despite Danzo's hungriness for power, he would be a good character. He is the type of person to protect the village even if it means slaughtering an entire clan. If there was more back story to him, we would be able to know more about him. He is basically the Guardian of Konoha. By far one of my favorite characters besides Orochimaru. They both really have 1 thing in common. They are both very ominous characters. One despises Konoha and the other one is there to protect Konoha. I find Danzo a good character.

Danzo and Orochimaru being comrades sounds quite interesting because, Orochimaru wanted Konoha to be destroyed, while Danzo made the most cruel decisions to protect the village, so technically their views are opposing. They only agreed on Hiruzen needs to leave office cuz he sucks badly as hokage

(I also have to add how bad Kishi developed Sai, who looked more like a ninja than almost the entire cast of Konoha, even so he ends up becoming a secondary and comic relief, because somehow he ended up liking Naruto and his speeches nonsense about never giving up on the pursuit of a toxic friendship. He then reveals us as the orchestrator of the Uchiha massacre, a blatant attempt by the mangaka to whitewash the Uchiha, YES, SAINT ITACHI THE DUTIFUL by transforming Shimura into the most hated character in the series. people are spewing hatred against Danzo. he did all these actions for the future and integrity of Konoha he is one of the most intelligent and cunning statesmen in the series. Although people hate him for emotional reasons, there was no political mistake in what he did, he did his duty as expected from a statesman, so even though people hate him, I like him because I think he is realistic and dutiful.
People will say they hate Danzo, "he do bad stuff, he bad man". People will also say they think a character like Deidara (literally a terrorist) is cool. Obito (moron being angry at the world over one girl) is cool. Kakuzu (only cares about money) is cool. Hidan (sacrifices people involuntarily for his religion) is cool. At least Danzo has a belief system that he truly thinks is right, and makes harsh decisions for the sake of his home. He's not perfect, he has his flaws and selfish impulses. But that's true for anyone, even our historical heroes. Danzo, a realistic character existing in a show where adolescent fantasies and beliefs prevail, rather than something believable and more accurate that reflects the world we live in. You don't have to like Danzo, but you don't have to hate him. Only normies and children hate Danzo. For these people have no grasp on how the world actually works.
I second this. Danzo is similar to a character from shakespeares hamlet. its difficult to explain. a power hungry character whos faithful to his nation is portrayed as an antagonist and goes againt another antagonist which is the main character of the story.

But, let us keep in mind that many leaders give many promises and some fall short of those promises.
Bro, he literally tried to use wartime and genjutsu to make himself commander of the alliance, he helped a dictator kill the leader of a peace keeping organization to secure his position, he had a hand in creating the greatest enemy to the nations, he conspired with a rogue ninja to gain more power, he stopped the sos from getting to naruto which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians so he could have a reason to oust tsunade, he put Itachi through hell, stole shisui's eye which resulted in shisui commiting suicide, desecrated the dead uchiha by stealing their eyes, tried to steal kakashi's eye, leaked the information about naruto being the jinchuriki, sold out multiple anbu to orochimaru in order to get to sasuke, and even had a hand to play in the destruction of the uzumaki clan. Danzo is a perfect example of what a real shinobi is. Always in the shadows, for the good of the village. Everyone has their views on what is and isn't evil, Danzo himself is a prime example of that, he has done his actions because he believed that it was good. I think that's why he's maybe the best written character in Naruto. His views on what's good and bad are different from anyone else. I don't defend him nor do I hate him, for me, he's one of the best villains ever.
One of my favorite characters in the show. Though his methods were questionable, he was a patriot. If his plans did succeeded, he would be hated a lot lesser.
I personally loved Danzo, he’s one of my favorite characters. I note his constant concern for the sake of the Leaf village, and his harsh decisions in order to protect it. I think Danzo is just misunderstood, and many of these fanboys don’t see things from his perspective. I truly enjoyed Danzo up to the point where he died, wishing to do what was best for the Leaf village. Also, I believe he would’ve been a greater Hokage than Sarutobi.
Danzo protected the village ?, the only thing he did is fuck her more, he caused the birth of pain (nagato), and that for the future he was going to fuck the village, caused the Uchiha clan to go to hell and Sasuke had a great resentment of his brother and ended up becoming the emo avenger and Itachi joined Akatsuki, caused the death of Itachi's parents and the death of his girlfriend, etc.

He is interesting, because he is a portrayal of a real position in politics and in intelligence operations. He will do whatever it takes to protect the village. This absolute position makes him impossible to deal with for others especially more moderate persons.

What a character Danzo was. I love the character development of Danzo for sure. He hides behind the leaves by protecting the Konaha and then he betrays the people by doing things like you know what that I can't say here. Loved every moment of how things turn out in Shippuden. I always knew something was messed up entirely way too much from what we already knew. But when Toby and others mentioned everything what he did and the thing with Shisui, JUST WOW! That's all I have to say.

There are so many great things people do that go unnoticed, things we are used to that are maintained by people in the darkness. Yet their roots hold us up, the leaves basking in the sunlight from the fruit of their labor. Truck drivers, delivery people, food distributors, clothes makers, bread bakers etc. The real root of society that holds us up never to recieve praise or merit yet they continue to maintain the traditions that keep us going.

I think Sasuke's victory over him was one of the most underrated W's of the entire series.

Despite Danzo's hungriness for power, he would be a good character. He is the type of person to protect the village even if it means slaughtering an entire clan. If there was more back story to him, we would be able to know more about him. He is basically the Guardian of Konoha. By far one of my favorite characters besides Orochimaru. They both really have 1 thing in common. They are both very ominous characters. One despises Konoha and the other one is there to protect Konoha. I find Danzo a good character.

Danzo Shimura was one of Kishimoto's most wasted villains.
He was a member of one of the founding clans of the Leaf, one of the village's first generation shinobi, partner of Sarutobi, veteran of three wars, the head of the CIA equivalent ninja, the personification of the director of intelligence, who He starts out as an extremist dedicated to the security of the nation and ends up as a self-serving corrupt politician.
All this was enough to introduce and develop the character for several dozen chapters of the manga, to influence the plot for a time and leave an important legacy.
And what is it that incompetent Kishimoto does?
He introduces him at the beginning of Shippuden as Sai's boss, who opposes Tsunade out of jealousy over his position and one of the few sane men who wants to kill Sasuke early on.
(I also have to add how bad Kishi developed Sai, who looked more like a ninja than almost the entire cast of Konoha, even so he ends up becoming a secondary and comic relief, because somehow he ended up liking Naruto and his speeches nonsense about never giving up on the pursuit of a toxic friendship.

He then reveals us as the orchestrator of the Uchiha massacre, a blatant attempt by the mangaka to whitewash the Uchiha, YES, SAINT ITACHI THE DUTIFUL by transforming Shimura into the most hated character in the series.
Later somehow he becomes Hokage after the Pain arc and Kishi proceeds to demote him to a stupid Bond villain, who ends up getting caught using his sharingan at an international summit, not to mention his anticlimactic death, be used as a punching bag for Kishidrugs to give the emo even more power ups.
And then everyone forgets about him, no one uncovers his dirty secrets, Sasuke is pardoned from his magnicide as if the whole damn village revolves around Naruto and his teenage whims.
Damn Kishimoto, use your few neurons to think about making some sense of your damn work, this is nauseating.

Although people hate him for emotional reasons, there was no political mistake in what he did, he did his duty as expected from a statesman, so even though people hate him, I like him because I think he is realistic and dutiful.
Then where he was when Obito, Orochimaru and Pain attacked?
People will say they hate Danzo, "he do bad stuff, he bad man". People will also say they think a character like Deidara (literally a terrorist) is cool. Obito (moron being angry at the world over one girl) is cool. Kakuzu (only cares about money) is cool. Hidan (sacrifices people involuntarily for his religion) is cool.
At least Danzo has a belief system that he truly thinks is right, and makes harsh decisions for the sake of his home. He's not perfect, he has his flaws and selfish impulses. But that's true for anyone, even our historical heroes. Danzo, a realistic character existing in a show where adolescent fantasies and beliefs prevail, rather than something believable and more accurate that reflects the world we live in.
You don't have to like Danzo, but you don't have to hate him.

Danzo is simply misunderstood, which is why he is so hated by many. Danzo was willing to sacrifice anyone to protect his village, no matter the cost. This mentality also stemmed within Tobirama, the second Hokage of the hidden leaf village. Danzo's character is dark and mysterious, but with a hint of love, pain, anger and regret from his younger years. If Danzo had become Hokage and stayed Hokage, I believe the hidden leaf village would be much better, as Danzo only wanted to protect his village. But, let us keep in mind that many leaders give many promises and some fall short of those promises.
Bro, he literally tried to use wartime and genjutsu to make himself commander of the alliance, he helped a dictator kill the leader of a peace keeping organization to secure his position, he had a hand in creating the greatest enemy to the nations, he conspired with a rogue ninja to gain more power, he stopped the sos from getting to naruto which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians so he could have a reason to oust tsunade, he put Itachi through hell, stole shisui's eye which resulted in shisui commiting suicide, desecrated the dead uchiha by stealing their eyes, tried to steal kakashi's eye, leaked the information about naruto being the jinchuriki, sold out multiple anbu to orochimaru in order to get to sasuke, and even had a hand to play in the destruction of the uzumaki clan.

This been sumtime since I finished naruto and hearing I just started crying like crazy all the memories just hit me like a gunshot and I realized I had more close a cherished memories with naruto rather than the actual world....

I don’t care what anyone says, Danzo is one hella of a character, at the end of the day, he did everything for the leaf village, hate him or not, he did what he had to do in order to save the village. I wish there was a moment where we were able to see what would have happened if the itachi didnt kill the uchiha clan. I feel like the situation would have be even more difficult then what we’re given

Danzo is a perfect example of what a real shinobi is. Always in the shadows, for the good of the village. One would think he was bad or his methods were cruel but give one thought too his up-bringing and you'd notice he wasn't born in an era of peace. His sensei, the Second Hokage, died for his village. So too did danzo, for protecting the Leaf was the only purpose. R.I.P LORD DANZO

Everyone has their views on what is and isn't evil, Danzo himself is a prime example of that, he has done his actions because he believed that it was good. I think that's why he's maybe the best written character in Naruto. His views on what's good and bad are different from anyone else. I don't defend him nor do I hate him, for me, he's one of the best villains ever.

I personally loved Danzo, he’s one of my favorite characters. I note his constant concern for the sake of the Leaf village, and his harsh decisions in order to protect it. I think Danzo is just misunderstood, and many of these fanboys don’t see things from his perspective. I truly enjoyed Danzo up to the point where he died, wishing to do what was best for the Leaf village. Also, I believe he would’ve been a greater Hokage than Sarutobi.
Danzo protected the village ?, the only thing he did is fuck her more, he caused the birth of pain (nagato), and that for the future he was going to fuck the village, caused the Uchiha clan to go to hell and Sasuke had a great resentment of his brother and ended up becoming the emo avenger and Itachi joined Akatsuki, caused the death of Itachi's parents and the death of his girlfriend, etc.

Useless danzo didn’t try and attack orochimaru cause he wanted to save his eyes for godly threats and he knew hiruzen could have dispatched of him. Pain is too strong for danzo and he knew his limits like anyone else. This might be head canon but I’m not sure if the kotoamatsukami works on people stronger than you as it has only been used on weaker opponents
