Thank you for this video. I think reviewing older caravans from time to time would be a nice addition to the channel as not everybody can afford a new or nearly new caravan. It was also nice to see the classic aspect of caravanning featured in another video and the visiting of an outdoor show. Again this too could add to the diversity of the channel. Keep up the good work!
We are thinking of starting up as caravaners and love this simple video with lots of facts we did not know. Thanks for speaking slowly and clearly too thanks
love your videos but no way would I pay £3500 for an 18 year old 2 berth caravan like that. some people must be mad to go to dealers and pay that sort of money for the same price I bought a Fleetwood Volante 4 berth 2005 caravan with end bedroom if I had spent £3,500 on this I will probably jump in the Thames
My 1991 Coachman Mirage 350/2 is similar to this one and only cost me £700 with everything included. One thing it has over the Iona is that the windows are double glazed. It is a shame that John is no longer with use. He certainly knew his onions.
Ours is a 1999 Model bought in 2000 with extras such as Mosquito sliding door and a Sliding Mosquito 🦟 net on the Skylight. The end Shower room/cassette toilet 🚽 is so roomy and handy like a garage for storage for Awning etc to leave the Caravan free. An Avondale Rialto 2 berth it has ample room to move about and you can make the two end bunks into a large double. Yet we did it pay 💰 anywhere near £4000 for our much younger Caravan !
Also, you may get one for a few hundred quid buying private, and trust it will be ok. For the inexperienced, a dealer may be the best option, A caravan dealer will/should service and check everything is working, brakes etc and demonstrate to you that all the electrical/gas appliances work. They may even give a few months warranty. Buy private, then get it home and you could later find leaks in the body, broken heater , water pump, or any problems with the running gear and it may not seem so cheap after all. In fact if the brakes or wheel bearings are faulty you may never make it home.
Maybe its worth considering fencing off the area where you keep your caravan at home and fitting permanently available utilities outside just like at a purpose designed campsight and rent out your home. That way you would be all set to travel at a moments notice without needing to load or unload your caravan besides the extra income from rent and free camping pitch looooool

First of all, learn english and spelling, second you can find caravans far better than this on eBay for round £700, not very expensive for a mobile home.

What does £4000 buy you in the world of caravans? We look at this 1996 Abbey Iona to find out. Please like, comment, share and enjoy!

"I perjaps don't choose this type of upholstery. It's rather elderly" said the spring chicken.
all you guys complaining about the price, over here in nzl this caravan would fetch 10-14k nzd. easily

You can find far better and newer ones on eBay for around 4K. This is a ripoff
My name is Iona is funny !!!
$3000? I would only give $500 considering it’s date.
Decent value 4 grand for that caravan.
how nuch?
this van is only600 pounds
Grossly overpriced for its year. I find it hard to believe they are asking 4K for this very dated unit.
£4000 ?? WFT ???
only 4 k what planet is he on .. only two thing to say ,, food banks , i thing the caravan makers should come down to our level of living

Nice van. £3.5k though? Nope.
