- Today we give a few updates and show you the A/C upgrade we had done. We removed the factory GE unit because it was just too loud. There was a bit of back and forth with the dealer since the don't carry Rec Pro but they installed it for us. This Houghton Rec Pro unit is super quiet and has a heat pump and dehumidify mode. Hope you enjoy the updates.

We got the 13.5 it’s pretty powerful for such a small space but that is what the dealer recommended

Nice how you made garage door higher! And switch out A/C to a Rec-Pro. thats awesome. Consider cutting away at the A/C cover next to your fan. Create a cover of sorts with industrial velcro on the A/C top. Man you need to be sure you do some winter camping right ? Buy a heated hose; place 12V heat pads on your tanks. Look up winter camping.
We did consider cutting away the housing of the a/c we may still do it. We love the new a/c it’s powerful and quiet. Thanks so much for watching
I wanted to buy the same AC. I’m confused about the dehumidifier that is built in. The Recpro dealer told me that it only dehumidifies when the AC compressor is running. If that’s the case then in order to get rid of all the humidity, then it would get extremely cold at the same time. Can you tell me exactly what the unit does when you use it in dehumidifier mode. Please help and thank you.
I am confused about that as well. To dehumidify the temp on the unit has to be set at least 1 degree cooler than the temp in the camper. I'm not really sure what the difference between dehumidify and A/C is. To me it seems the dehumidify is really just the functional equivalent to the A/C.
I just put one on the roof of my '00 Bounder. It's the same old school technology..start and stop compressor as opposed to a DC (inverter) variable speed system. It is less noisy than the original unit. I don't know that I'd say Super Quiet but certainly better than the original. It employs a molded foam fan enclosure to dampen the sound.

I would love to put one together but I wouldn't recommend anyone do it the way we did. We made bit of a mess of it.
