This show has taught me that some people that have nice cars, many times are broke.

Honestly, one of my biggest takeaway’s from this channel. When I see someone rolling down the road in a late-model, pricey vehicle, my first thought is really just about what amount of car payment the driver must be carrying around, killing other aspects of their life 😢

    • @om617yota8

I have that same thought when picking up materials at Home Depot in my 100% paid cash for $10k used truck, and the people in the $70k vehicles parked on either side of me are looking at me like I don't quite fit in. Guess what, I also paid cash for the building materials I'm loading in my truck, and invest more every month than they put towards their truck payment. They're right, I don't quite fit in, and I really prefer that.

Yep, I'm rarely the one with the nicest car, even when I owned a brand new car. My classic cars are not pristine, either, but I own them more to work on than to show. I also have no debt and plenty of cash in the bank with plans to retire early so I can invest more time in my hobbies.

      A lemon? A hooptie? A bucket? P.O.S?

How could anyone with a 3rd grade concept of math think that being 31K in debt for a car while already being over 10K in other debts while making 15 dollars an hour is not egregiously stupid? Not even factoring in interest or income taxes, just dividing her debt by 15, it is over 2900. Meaning 2900+ working hours which is 49 weeks of working 60 hours per week. Even at the most rudimentary level, this is insane
