    Earliest FA Cup final match I remember watching was the '77 final between United and Liverpool. I was 7. I remember watching the Arsenal v United final two years later as well. That was a sickener. And, yes, Arsenal did do it again in 2005. A game United should have won but couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. One of the few times when Wenger effectively parked the bus the entire game IIRC. I used to religiously watch the FA Cup final every year. The '91 Final between Spurs and Forest was the first one I didn't watch. And I do remember the Villa goal.

      Well tbf he couldn’t win the UCL with Bayern, and he only won 2 UCL’s while at Barca, even though that’s obviously still an incredible achievement, but honestly any above average quality manager would’ve led that 2011 barca squad to glory. Maybe not the sextuple, but still. He’s a genius, but he has always had good funding and squads. It would be good to see him actually start a project up, from scratch, like other managers have done, and see how he can win with that.

    • @tekeella420
      @tekeella420 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      duh. but how much of that was under the same coaches? united and Chelsea spend so much cos each coach comes in with their own style of play for whom they have a new set of players they want to be brought in to fit the style. also don't forget that the entire city setup was built with the intention of hiring guardiola. most of their staff were ex-barcelona employees. the youth teams were given a much greater importance and developed far better based off la masia's structure. so on and so forth. so yes, pep is a great coach, but he himself has admitted on multiple occasions that he couldn't have done what he did without all the money and support he has received from the owners of city. klopp and poch during his tottenham days literally did most of those things themselves and brought up the club to new levels. and more over they didn't have the money nor the status to be able to go out and sign the biggest or best players.

      actually, you know what i just went back and checked how much he spent at his time in barca, and you are just lying through your teeth. He literally spent almost 100 mil in his first year there. that was in 2008/09, more than a decade before neymar's transfer inflated the transfer market.
      here's the complete list - in 08/09 he spent 96 mil, in 09/10 it was 113.5 mil, in 10/11 it was 72.5 mil and finally in 11/12 it was 60 mil. bringing his total expenditure to a whopping 332 million in the 4 years he was there. 332 million between 2008-2012 is a huge amount. it may not be much in today's market, but back then it was a lot.
      so yeah. stop and check your facts before you lie again.

    Was Arsenal one of the most spenders during the wenger era? Yes. Let’s stop acting like Pep spend more money than Chelsea, Real Madrid, Man United, PSG, Arsenal when he was at Barca. When he took over Barca, they were trophy less for two seasons before his arrival. Taking over Barca as his first job with only B team experience, winning 6 trophies in his first season without spending more money than all the big clubs in Europe is something that we have never seen before. Iniesta wasn’t a starter before his arrival and he let deco leave for iniesta, changed Xavi and Messi’s role to get the best out of them. He let half of the experience guys like Zambrotta, Milito, Thuram, Deco, Ronaldinho. He replaced them with La masia and a few signings. The way they played was the best we have seen in a long time so let’s stop this nonsense that Pep’s success was all about money. The money was at city before pep, did they won league titles? Yes but they never dominated the league. Did they won the champions league? No.

      If he had left Arsenal after the stadia debt cleared and went to Madrid when they wanted him, he could have written his final years better. He got too comfortable and lax in his final years. A change of scenery would have done him well and kept him on his toes. Because he was already doing the rotating 10s thing that Pep perfected with Barca's superior resources. But Pep is better, possibly the goat with asterisks though as most of his tenures have scandals bar the Bayern one.

    You all are laughable. Really?? Comparing Pep and Arsene ?? This whole nonsense about money spent on players is a joke. Pep weny out there and bought ready made players, said Stevie, really??? You all laughed at him for not buying Koulibali and buying 3rd or 4tu choice Reuben Dias. Dont even start with Kyle Walker every thought City over paid for him until he became really good. Stones??? Ake?? Those were ready made?? Really? Please you all just stop. Every talks about money spent but what about the quality of player the money was spent on?? Does anyone believe Brighton would have sold Mcalister to City for 40 million like they did to Liverpool?? I remember Johnny Evans was priced at 50 million because city was trying to get him to the Etihad. Anyone believes that price could have been set if anyone else was trying to buy Evans??. Now lets take a look at that Arsenal team in 2000 - 2006 you think that team would cost less than the city team cost in today's market?? You all are just so pitifully sad. I remember Sir Alex saying Pep wouldn't have it easy which meant (will not succeed) today people are playing around saying no he only meant it will be competitive. Peter Schmeichel laugh at him during the first season saying he couldn't succeed, and there's no one who didn't know city was rich pre Pep but still thought he'll struggle. Now he rubbished all the thrash talking and everyone is like ahh but the was money spent and when you say but he didn't spend much at Barcelona then they say but he had Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, always leaving out the fact he took over because Real Madrid had won the league 2 years in a row, Barcelona ended the season 4th in the League, the guy sends away the Ronaldinhos of the world and wins everything in Europe in his first season playing the best football we have seen at least in the 2000s. You all stop with the hypocrisy. Klopp and Ancelloti in your eyes are legends but Pep is comparable to Arsene.
