Pep doesn't even play to Haaland's strengths at all. So crazy that so many people don't understand football enough to recognize this. It's always Haaland who gets blamed for some reason when Foden, the PL Player of the Year, was even worse, and KDB was horrible as well and subbed off early in yet another final. There's a reason Haaland doesn't score the kind of goals that he did at Dortmund while on City, and suddenly people call him a "tap in merchant" now... it's because Pep wants him to play centrally, in the box, and create space for the wingers to work from the sides and outside the box. Being a "tap in merchant" is exactly what Pep wants him to be, so while I think Pep is capable, he's unwilling to move away from his style of play that's been so successful and therefore Haaland's overall game suffers. Haaland just scores despite it because he's a brilliant goal scorer. And yeah, he does need to be better in finals, but it's a silly narrative that oversimplifies something way more complicated than "0 goals in Finals for City"... well let's take a look at Pep's tactics in these finals, the style of play and what kind of game is taking place. Haaland is still a brilliant player, it doesn't matter what the haters say. He's only 23 years old as well. So many players peaked in their late 20s/30s in football so it's crazy the things people say about young players in this sport nowadays. People should have more respect for these players' talents/skills.

Haaland isn't that kind of player though he is pretty much just a good old fashioned goal poacher and a very good one at that. I don't get this modern mentality from pudits that players suddenly have to be great at styles of play to be great now. Messi and Ronaldo in a way ruined everyone's perception of what most players are capable of even the very best.

Many pundits and fans get blinded by techy and flashy players instead of focusing on what really matters in football.
Get the ball into the other team's net and stop the other team from scoring.
The reality is that even Ronaldo was not the amazing all-round player that many think he was.
Yes, Ronaldo scored many goals, but he for sure took extremely many shots as well.
Missing on VERY many of them.
      And he was EXTREMELY selfish.
Messi was a fantastic all-round player and a great team player as well.
Another reality when it comes to both Ronaldo and Messi, is that it was and still is VERY much easier to score goals in La Liga than it is in the Premier League.
If Haaland was to play for Real Madrid, he would score tons of goals.

Erling has been made into a target man. And yes, he can use his physicality to get around defenders, unless of course those defenders start off with a bear-hug. Even if Erling keeps some distance, by the time the ball is traveling through the air towards him, all the defender has to do is grab hold. I've seen this a lot these days and for some reason, a foul almost never gets called when Erling is involved. If it were Kane, he would get the foul every time. It's almost as though the officials decided, Erling's a big strong boy, play on. But City opt not to utilize Erling's speed. I really think he should consider going elsewhere where he can do what he does best.

They need another really quick winger for the right part of the front line who can also beat players with pace and whip crosses into the box for when the inverted winger stuff isn't working. City looked a lot more dangerous when Doku came on.

All coaches at Madrid including Don Carlos recognise this. They just have to man manage their egos and let them have their moments in the match. Lack of tactis and innovation translates to less possesion and created chances but high quality of players means higher goal conversion with less created chances. City on the other hand has a high IQ genius coach who can incorporate even average players into his innovative tactics resulting in more possession and created chances. Both systems are fascinating to watch for neutral fans like me.

You are a clown that do not know or understand football at all.
      Alvarez the main man?
Please tell us all what Alvarez has done this season.
All these clowns like you claiming that City are better without Haaland and better with Alvarez and still Alvarez fails in almost all games and minutes he has played and City have done better with Haaland on the pitch.
You even tell a total lie when you claim that they always try to find him.
Every single pundit, ex player and other football experts have said that the City players try to pass Haaland the ball way to few times.
The main problem regarding Haaland is that his team mates DON*T try to find him because of how Pep wants them to play.
They spend most of the 90 minutes passing the ball sideways and backwards instead of trying to score goals.

Haaland didn't play like this at Molde, Salzburg or Dortmund.
I promise you that Ronaldo would struggle the same if not even more if he was to play for Pep at City.
      Even at his prime.
Ronaldo had extremely poor shot conversion.
MUCH worse than Haaland had this season.
And with so few passes as Haaland gets, Ronaldo would most likely be biting Pep's head off if he was in Haaland's shoes.
If Haaland had played for Real Madrid instead now, he would score tons of goals and most likely more than both Messi and Ronaldo did in their prime in La Liga.
It was and still is so extremely much easier to score in La Liga than it is in the Premier League now.

The fact that several teams experienced severe injury problems refutes the idea that this is down to specific managers. Maybe players play too much football ever considered that. I notice footballers and ex-pros never come out and criticize FIFA/UEFA for fixture congestion - if they do it is very rare. Why? because they are happy taking obscene amounts of money.

Pep Guardiola is just not a good coach. That's why MC only barely won one Champions league. Crossing the ball into the box is statistically one of the most effective and spectacular way to score. David Beckham was a master at deploying that technique, mostly diagonal ones, which led to many goals for England and his clubs. Halland would be the perfect target. Pep's lack of football knowledge is disguised by the fact that he only coaches teams with the best players. Jesus even called him a madman for his weird ineffective techniques.
