I always preview videos before showing them in school. Be warned: The painting used for the Saturnalia explanation shows a woman naked from the waist up. So, I couldn't show this in my elementary class.
I want to show this to my students and wondered if the voice is really Morgan Freeman or someone impersonating him? Is the information factual? Thanks!
There are two very famous paintings that contain very brief nudity as is common in paintings from this period. The paintings are on public display for all to see.
This is not around the world, just in the northern hemisphere. The Christmas and New Year period occurs during the summer holidays in the southern hemisphere. However, Jews in all parts of the world may celebrate Hanukkah and not necessarily in Winter, as with some of the people in the Americas ( Kwanzaa). So, I guess you could at a stretch say 'around the globe'.
Great question. We focused on mid-winter holidays that occur in December/January. It is my understanding that Eid occurs on different dates every year but not on December or January.
