I’m from Ireland and I’m restoring an mf 35 3 cylinder diesel. I had the same problem. My timing cover was cracked in the same spot and my oil pressure was low. I ended up getting the timing cover welded and the crankshaft reground and installed with oversized bearings. I am currently sending the injector pump and injectors for servicing along with replacing the lower lift arm mounting pins that go into the trumpet housing in the meantime. Between the 135 and 35 playlists I have watched a lot of your videos to assist myself when carrying out these repairs, I am very thankful for all of your videos and they are all very helpful and interesting
Great video Lance! This is the best bit in my opinion. Looks like this engine is not too bad, a good buy. Should be a relatively straight forward rebuild. Your explanations are really good too.
To a welder guy like me, these are cool videos Lance. You explain how parts are made to fit together so we can understand, although you make things look too easy. Thanks.
Thanks Darren, On removing the liners I had a few too many amps and marked the block on one liner but just a small trail with no depth to it. Should have checked better but not to worry.
Hello Lance i got an perkins A3-152 in my traktor with the crome liners and it had the classic problem pulling down the liner into the crancase and total stop as a result i wonder if i find a block made for cast iron liners will the rest of the parts just swap over to the new block ? its from 1962 and have the vertical injectors with swirl chamber in he head thanks M

Over 30 years ago I did Perkins parts from a vague memory STD bearings the part number ended on Zero and 1 was .010 oversized and 2 was .020
Never knew that, most now a days have 0.010 etc.
