Often times, after knowing what the diagnosis, often the pharmacist can recommend something (directly to the prescriber) that is cheaper. They can clinically discuss whether that would be appropriate....
Yes that is true. I used to do all the time when I had my own pharmacy for 10 years. Chain pharmacists are stressed to the max to fill for volume and less time for clinical (due to lack of payment associated with that activity).

Good point. Thank you for sharing. The feedback to me from pharmacists is that independent pharmacists tend to do this more frequently.
