Hellcat POV | RMC Wildcat Concept | NoLimits 2

  • This was my shot at making an RMC conversion of Wildcat at Hersheypark. While I'm a little late to the party, I thought it would be fun to give a go at it. This was my first RMC conversion (aside from the 5HOP) and I am very pleased with how it turned out!
    Massive credit to Christian G. for letting me use his Wildcat recreation as an outline for this coaster! (you can find it here: nolimitscentra...)
    DOWNLOAD: nolimitscentra...
    STATISTICS: Old Wildcat:
    -Hight: 37m / 121ft - 32m / 106ft
    -Length: 934m / 3064ft - 970m / 3183ft
    -Top speed: 89 km/h / 55 mph - 80 km/h / 50mph
    -Inversions: 4 - 0
    -Duration (pre-lift + layout): 0:54 - 1:13
    Other notes:
    - Passes clearance!
    - I made this coaster in about two days. I think I was especially excited about the layout so I wanted to finish it as soon as possible. That does mean it's a little rushed, but I'm still happy with it.
    - I think some of the negative forces are a little bit too strong on this one. Seems to be a theme with my recent coasters, but maybe it's not too too extreme for an RMC. However I'd the airtime on many of the airtime hills would be 0.2g less or so.
    - The forces read in the subtitles are generally an average between front/back and left/right seats, but weighted a bit more towards whatever force is most extreme. The forces listed are never more than 0.2g away from the most extreme force felt (for example, if a drop in the front pulls -0.8g but the back pulls -1.2g, the force listed would likely be -1.1g)
    - This coaster is 100% hand built in NL2
    - You might notice that the coaster doesn't completely follow the original layout (it actually goes in reverse for a good portion of it). The structure hopping involved actually takes out a whole 360 degrees less of turning which allows for more of the layout be focused on airtime.
    - I don't really like it when people say these are "predictions" because there are hundreds of ways you could go about a conversion (it's basically trying to predict art). HOWEVER, there is one thing I'd be more surprised if they didn't do: the outer banked drop. I'm not sure what drop could fit more perfectly in that spot and not have a massive valley.

    TURN ON SUBTITLES FOR ELEMENT INFO!
    Note: Positives usually range from 3.0g to 3.5g (max 4.1g)
    (by the way I couldn't think of a name for this coaster so I'm open to suggestions)

    While it’s a nice coaster, the notion of it being perfect bothers me a bit. Yes, the coaster has good pacing and solid elements, but making a coaster like this is beyond easy when you have zero other constraints.

    The exaggerated pre-lift section and first drop are fantastic🤌and the playfulness in the layout is ace. If you want critique, read on, otherwise disregard-the pacing can feel erratic at points. Lots of bumping and swerving. I think the coaster could be longer/slower while maintaining the same sequence of elements. A/O, not every element has to have some kind of surprise or twist. Play off a predictable RMC hybrid experience while pushing the boundaries of the familiar (eg. the prelift and first drop of your Hellcat layout!).

    Loses a bit too much pacing from 0:34-0:50 but other than that this is a great coaster

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yah, trying to keep pacing up during parts with a lot of turns can be pretty tough, but I thought that if pacing couldn't be kept up as well as other sections, I should instead go for setting up good elements (sort of like what Alan does with coasters like Iron Gwazi and Lightning Rod. The first few elements need a lot of valley and turning to be set up, but that is rewarded by killer elements that usually benefit from a height change). Of course one of the many things I wish I had done differently is raising the lift a bit more so certain higher sections could have a bit more speed, but I didn't spend that time on this coaster so a few regrets are to be expected.

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By the way there are some laterals during that section that I use to try to keep pacing up, you can turn on subtitles for more info on that :)

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For whatever reason I thought back to this comment and on second review of the section you mention, I noticed that it actually still has pretty solid pacing. I did a little side by side comparison with Steve's second half and it actually has about equal or greater pacing during the entire section. While it is still nowhere near perfect (if "perfect" ever existed in art), to say that the section loses "too much pacing" isn't really fair, especially with the challenges the structure posed. Maybe this is me being a bit too assuming, but before watching this I'm guessing you might have seen a couple slightly unrealistic NL2 povs or something which made you lose some touch on what actually looks realistic (I have definitely been there), but I tried to make this coaster stay as close realistic roll rates and forces. If interested you can turn on subtitles to see those. Also if you have any specific ideas on how you think you could make section be better paced, please let me know! I'm always up for a discussion like that :)

    • @14GZ
      @14GZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jacksongrace I don't know too much about making coasters and the pacing is really good still it just felt a tiny bit slower than the rest of the layout, but yeah I probably watched a couple unrealistic povs before making the comment, but anyway you did a really good job making that coaster and it's definitely better than anything I could make

    I like how it doesn’t exactly follow the same layout at wildcat, other concepts try to follow it exactly but rmc rarely does that

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Also the way I changed the layout actually allowed it to turn 360 degrees less. This made it so that the layout could be a lot more airtime based, which for a gci layout based almost entirely based on turns and quick pops, is a lot harder to do when following the layout path exactly. :)
