Like everything, there's a learning curve to get to be proficient using this sharpener. But once you get the hang of it, this thing if great! I got mine a few days ago but didn't watching the demo video through enough so I couldn't get good results. The video above is very important to watch.

I don't usually comment, but I bought one of these a couple of years ago, use it regularly, and it keeps my knives sharp as razors. Customer service is excellent as well.

Really nice and thorough explanation! I didn't quite believe how well it would work, but my professional (refurbished) sharpener works miraculously - so easy and I'm thrilled to always have sharp knives to cook with.

Just a suggestion. Add degree tik lines on the top when the sharpener spreads so you have an idea at what angle (degree) you're sharpening your knife. I don't want to put an entirely new angle on my knife by just winging it.

Thanks for watching! Many on the market may look similar, but they are not all good quality. If you are in the UK, look for a Vulkanus knife sharpener. You should be able to find it on Amazon.

BEWARE. Replacing the blades when they become dull is beyond ridiculously difficult. It takes me over and hour, watching their tutorial video through the whole process, and I still can't do it. The next time it gets dull, I'm throwing it in the recycling bin.

Around the 15 minute 20 second mark, it appeared that you used significantly more hand surface area and force to wiggle the "look a like" version. That didn't seem fair.
