  • In today's episode we smoke some spare ribs with a fall off the bone method! Smoked in my Pit Boss 5 Series Vertical Pellet Smoker!
    Pellet of Choice: Pit Boss Classic Blend (Pecan, Hickory, and Mesquite)
    This ribs are super easy! We start by trimming the thin parts of the spare rib. You can trim these down to St. Louis Style if you please.
    Next, season your ribs with your favorite rub and refrigerate covered over night.
    Pre-heat the smoker to 225F and smoke for 4 hours. Spritz whenever the ribs appear dry on the surface. I chose to spritz with Cherry Coke. Why? I don't know... it sounded good lol!
    After 4 hours, remove the ribs from the smoker and wrap each rack individually (meat side down) in foil with some chips of butter and brown sugar. Be sure to seal with foil, sometimes it may take several sheets to completely cover. Continue to cook at 225F for 2 more hours.
    Now we are 6 hours into this smoke. Go ahead and drop the temperature to 200F for the next 2 hours or until the internal temperature of the ribs are between 195F-201F. This temperature will ensure that the ribs are extremely tender and fall off the bone!
    If you choose a good rub you will not need any sauce with these bbq ribs!
    ENJOY!

    Super impressive video and spot on recipe. Tried this with a similar seasoning and regular coke and it was outstanding! I will attempt some bbq sauce at the last hour a different time in the future just for fun. Thank you for making ribs that legit fall off the bone super fun and easy.

      Just remember you don't have to smoke rips for 8 hours to get them tender. You can make tender ribs in 5 hours

    You should really try the PB charcoal pellets... I mix them with apple wood pellets and it’s just fantastic.. Smokey, earthy etc they’re really good.

    Question for the pit master : Recently bought a nice Electric Smoker. First cook was 4 racks of ribs doing the standard 321 and a beautiful 8.4 lb Boston butt. Complete fail. For years I’ve cooked on a pellet grill, used my same timing and methods but both were a complete fail. This was my first time cooking using a water pan, plus it was raining all day. Is there any possibility of too much water ? Neither of my meats were the “fall off the bone” like I’m use to. Was very disappointed , packed up my new ES and took it back. For note , the smoker did a great job keeping the temp level all day.

    • @AndersonsSmokeShow
      @AndersonsSmokeShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay I would say that it’s likely a temperature thing. Sounds like the smoker wasn’t as hot as it said that it was.... what internal temp did you pull the butt at?

    • @SlickD217
      @SlickD217 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I run mine at 300 for a goal of 250/275 whenever my smoker is more than half full.. Doesn’t seem like a lot but over 4/6 hours those few extra degrees really make a difference.

    I have to give you some credit.. while all of your videos have been good, these last few have been great! Your production quality has increased significantly since your first video, you seem comfortable in front of the camera, and you look like you’re having fun! Keep up the awesome work!

      We have really developed a passion for not only the cooking, but the whole production. We have made investments in sound, lighting, and editing capabilities... and really started to try and increase value to our final product! I’m glad that our hard work is noticeable to everyone! Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for the support!!

    great video! After it all was done..how many bags of pellets did you have to use?

    • @AndersonsSmokeShow
      @AndersonsSmokeShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on how cold it is outside, the smoker would burn 1-1.5lbs of pellets per hour

      @@AndersonsSmokeShow ok. Thats what I thought. I don't really need anything that big. But I don't think I can fit a rack of ribs in a series 3. And the horizontal ones don't seem to add the smoke flavor as well. Thank for the info.

    • @AndersonsSmokeShow
      @AndersonsSmokeShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanted a sweet infusion of flavor on these ribs. Plus the acid in coke will help with tenderness.
