This past year has been a incredibly difficult here in the United States with Covid, the Presidential election, the divisive environment that has been fostered by both liberal and conservative parties, violence in our cities, and huge uncertainty of what the future holds. But hearing and seeing the beauty in music performed by these talented young people and by HSCC brought tears to my eyes. The gift of music can transport a persons thoughts, emotions from uncertainty to a certainty that the better nature of humanity can be proclaimed throughout the world by the gift of music. Thank you for reminding me of that. Well done!

Yes majorgeeek, quite right. However, we at SmakOn Content don't make the arrangements, decisions, or organise the school shoots, we just shoot the videos. I believe the public schools though, especially those with music programs, were given equal opportunity to participate by the HSCC, but apparently weren't interested.

Sure@@majorrgeekwhatever you say. I work closely with many of these public schools not to mention with the band itself, but I’m only the guy who shoots the videos. I’m sure you know best.
@@SmakOnContent - okay then why don't you approach any public school, Woodville HS or LefevreHS both these schools have music departments and I am sure the kids would jump at any opportunity to appear on HSCC - after all HSCC is top talent establishing itself with world class musicians and singers namely Danny Lopresto world class singer for one

HSCC, although it must have felt a little intimidating for all girl choir, the rehearsals hard worked extremely well, after seeing the final concert outcome. A beautiful song choice for Wang, a well crafted song and a well disciplined voice control.
The arrangement was sublime

This is an amazing performance captures by you all and the behind the scenes is so cool to see. Need more of these for the HSCC videos.
2 questions - 1) I saw a FB post about how much work it was to put the performance together but the video almost never saw the light of day. Why not?
2) Is the final published video 1 take? If so, how many rehearsals did it take to pull of that amazing piece of music?

Thank you for your comment Dave. Very kind of you to say. I'm sure there'll be more videos as material comes to hand. The video of the performance itself was done in just a couple of takes after a few practices of the different sections (Strings, Choir, and HSCC regulars), but not much was required, the girls were very well prepared, and the video was released accordingly. It was the Behind The Scenes video that almost never saw the light of day, but that's not important. It was released in the end, and I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
Very interesting to watch this point-of-view.
These videos are truly remarkable. Could I ask who's brilliant idea it was to hide the backing singers behind the curtain. I doubt if any other school can beat this performance.
Thank you so much for your comment Road Rash. Much appreciated. Unfortunately, I can't tell you who came up with the idea (sadly it wasn't me), but I can tell you that it was very dark back there, and those brave young girls behaved themselves impeccably. Just adorable, all of them.

Yes he does Duba. Though I can't recall seeing him read, I'm pretty sure he was classically trained.

Yep, absolutely! . . . . . . . With the help of anamorphic lenses, and FilmicPro apps. We also used a couple of GoPros, and a small old iPhone 7 using the native app for the Behind The Scenes video as well.
