Another home run episode. I do really enjoy those different border crossing that you get in this area and also in the Road to Blk Sea areas. Re experiments I do wonder what if any DLC has an impact on the game economy/deliveries etc thats available vs just base game ones etc. So many variables. You always found perfect deliveries hit or miss ha ha ha but great work today!
Nice videos m8. Beware of Sarajevo and Karakaj. At Sarajevo the game stops and exits. At Karakaj, my truck couldn't pass the border crossing and got stuck.
One down nine to go, "Focus Danielssson🙂" Really enjoyable journey, with the AI drivers looking a little bit on the accident prone side. All good fun. Many thanks.
Definitely need the total concentration for this. I'd honestly be amazed if we ever got to even 5. Just so many little things can go wrong that it's hard to imagine me ever making 10 in a row, unless I specifically focus on that to the exclusion of everything else. I'd have to pick an easy short route and just do that back and forth 10 times.
Nice drive! I was thinking about the 'do cities matter' experiment. There's another important variable to that (I think), which will also impact the jobs available to your drivers, particularly early on. That's how many other cities are within a close radius of your city, and how many industries they have. It'll be a complicated one to get to the bottom of.
Ah, yes, that is an interesting question on the cities, for sure. I can see surrounding cities mattering a lot, too, yes. I'd like to think we'd see a huge difference so that it would be apparent. And maybe we can find a small city and a big city near each other?
@@ZillaBlitzPC It's a tough one. I think properly controlling for this will be super hard . I think you need to try and find a small and large city (in terms of industry) to compare who have a similar number of connections to other cities. That said, there are so many other variables at play it's going to be tough to get this right.
@@thecustardprophet8434 Yes, I think you have a good point. My initial reaction was to think that I could just pick two cities next to each other, but then the bigger city would likely be providing a bonus to the smaller city, and the smaller city would be providing a negative to the big city. But... if the premise is to just determine "Do cities matter?" maybe we could take it to an extreme and pick one small city that's rather isolated and one large city that has a lot of other cities near it? If the big city with the good connections does better than the small city with poor connections, then at least we know "cities matter". It might be the size, it might be the location, but cities do matter.
About you being a better driver in the past. I see it this way; when you were new to the game you didn't take unnecessary risks. Now it feels like you are in a hurry to every place and you don't plan enough ahead. Like when you took the twisty road in Mexico. You knew that the american trucks are not great on tight roads, specially with a long wheelbase trailer. And with fully loaded the truck are slow to drive uphill. Yes i know that it is more challenging to take that road with the trailer and when you succeed it feels really good. But is it too much of a risk? Rather drive the tight road with truck only to see if it is driveable with a trailer and keep the streak than get stuck and lose the streak. The problem with you current truck is that it is desinged to pull heavy loads. So it is longer than regular. Buy taglift for next truck so you get super short wheelbase.
These are some great thoughts, for sure. I do agree that I probably should think about making adjustments like you mention if I'm going to stack the odds in my favor for a perfect streak. Good tips, thanks! At this point, while I'm talking about a streak quite a bit, I don't want to focus on it to the point where I sacrifice other things in the game. Like the Mexico winding roads, I definitely could have taken a lot more time to prepare for that, but in all honesty, if I were trying to keep a streak, I just shouldn't mess with that road in the first place. Heck, I shouldn't even be in Mexico at all. It's a great mod, but there are enough bumpy parts that I can pretty much say that no matter what I do I'm going to have something bad happen to me during a delivery.
I wonder if clever use of cruise control would help in the quest for perfect deliveries to help avoid speeding tickets. Especially if you use active cruise. If you use active cruise, the truck will brake automatically and slow down when vehicle infront slows down. Perhaps an experiment for off screen 😂
Yeah, it's really easy for me to drift to higher speeds. I've noticed with cruise control, however, that most of the routes in the game require enough speed changes that I rarely feel like it's worth it. I should try out the active cruise though, see if that helps some with that. Thanks!
@@ZillaBlitzPC active cruise helps when there are other vehicles infront. It can be a touch tempremental though so take care. If all else fails, turn off traffic violations in the preferences menu 😂
@@ZillaBlitzPC yeah but the cake would be less satisfying. You can do 10. May be some special deliveries, they have to be kept under really tight control. Not likely to get a speeding violation on specials 😉
Those special deliveries can be massive though. But yes, it would remove the speeding violation side of things for the most part. To a degree I'm mainly of the mindset that I just pick routes and destinations like normal, without thinking about the perfection side of things, and then if we make it we make it. If not, no worries.
Hi Mike congrats on a perfect delivery this time, I think your narration or reading things while your driving sometimes creates some loss of concentration, I have tried doing a commentary whilst driving and done some silly things like speeding or not being observant and clipping the occasional vehicle. Keep on trucking buddy.
Thanks! Yes, it definitely adds challenge when I talk/read while driving. I often try to pick stretches of roac that look fairly straight and easy to talk, but sometimes that's just not possible. :)
I just got the West Balkans. Have only done one drive in it. Sofia to Skopje. There's a few cities that are in ProMods that aren't in the DLC so I look forward to ProMods eventually merging with the DLC, but that likely won't be for a few months. ProMods is going to override the DLC until then sadly.
Yeah, I think the hardest work that ProMods would have to do would be when new DLC comes out covering an area of the map they've already done. That's got to be a lot of work.
About experiments, I'd like to see you test trucks first. I'm firmly in the camp of "the number of companies in a city matters", but I don't know what to believe about AI drivers and truck quality.
Doing trucks first would be a lot cheaper too. We'd only need one garage and five trucks, so probably 1.4 million. Testing garages would require twice that. ... Yeah, let's do trucks first.
Eyoooo! Perfect delivery and perfect parking, too! That was a pretty good ride

@@ZillaBlitzPC Just an FYI in case you didn't know, ETS2 next DLC is greece and some islands, after that is Northern Scandinavia/Nordic Region
