    Hi Everyone, thank you for checking out the video! Let me know in the comments what you think of the Deluxe Back Box 2.0 for the AtGames Legends Pinball

    Great video. I have the same one you got (BB3 w/ plexiglass option) I've had it for about 2 months now and I love it, looks amazing. Worth every penny. The only downside is that the backbox monitor looks so good, bright, and vivid, that the main playfield monitor looks kinda sad now.

    I've had mine since February, and I just love it! Visual Pinball is a blast to play on it, and it really enjoy it!!

    I've been checking for months, and it is still out of stock. I wanted to get one for my birthday or Father's Day, but I guess that ship has sailed. If the 4K ALP has a bigger, better backglass, I will just wait for that.

      @Tamarocker88 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FYI, the ALP backboxes are never in stock. This is by design. BuyStuff's policy is to use a wait list. If you want to buy one, you must ask customer support to be placed onto the waitlist. They then do not follow up with you. Instead, you are expected to repeatedly contact them as proof of your intent to purchase. If you follow up with them enough times to convince them that you're really going to buy their product, they'll send you a unique URL so you can make the purchase and wait for it to be assembled and shipped. No, I'm not joking. I wish I were. I've seen BuyStuff employees go after people on social media who complained about not getting any followup. They were pretty nasty and abusive to people who merely wanted to buy their product and were never given the opportunity.

    Great job Mike - just need to swap the backglass art to the ones without the DMD cutout on them since you have a 3rd screen now.

    hi, sorry for my english. I still haven't figured out if it's possible to run other pinball machines via usb in addition to the ones installed, or do you have to connect a pc. I see you only have a usb connected. is it possible to make pinball fx work only from usb? Thank you

    • @MichaelBtheGameGenie
      @MichaelBtheGameGenie  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem. Sorry but adding a PC is required to play Pinball FX or Visual Pinball on the ALP.

    • @Tamarocker88
      @Tamarocker88 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FYI, the backboxes are ALWAYS "on backorder". They hide the ability to place an order behind their convoluted "wait list". The customer asks to be on the wait list, is added to it, but is never followed up with. BuyStuff has stated that they assume the majority of the people on the wait list have no interested in actually following through with the purchase, so instead they don't follow up with anyone and instead expect the real buyers to follow up with them after some time has passed... It's a complete waste of time.

    This looks great! I did the back glass mod to my arcade 1up that cooltoy showed. Its such a game changer to have a proper 2 screen backglass.

    Great Video! I love my Backbox 2.0. I gave up on Pinup popper and VPX because it was so frustrating and wasn’t easy for me to get just 1 pinball game up and running. I just stick to Pinball FX.

    • @MichaelBtheGameGenie

      Depends on what you are looking to buy. If it’s new check out Nitro Pinball. Used is tougher. Facebook pinball groups, marketplace and pages like Kijiji. Virtual like the AtGames Pinball is through The Brick

    This looks awesome, except for one huge detail. AtGames is launching a 4KP version of the ALP and ALU this holiday. We know the 4KP ALU will have a 4K screen, upgraded SOC/CPU and UI. Assuming the ALP 4KP will be the same. With all that new power will come new options and I really wonder if the ALP 4KP version will have an upgraded back box. I think this Back Box 2.0 is a MUST HAVE for anyone with existing/older ALPs but since I do not own one (currently real pinball machines), I will wait until the ALP 4KP version is announced, then access its features and see if back box 2.0 will have a 4KP version? Super awesome to see this product but sort of strange timing considering all legacy ALP models are basically going away.

    • @Tamarocker88
      @Tamarocker88 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the 2nd huge detail. The first one was that the cost of the Backbox 2.0 is exorbitant relative to the base unit's cost. ALPs regularly sell at Sam's Club for the deep discount price of $399. Even considering a full retail purchase through AtGames for $799, it's hard to justify investing another ~$500 to replace just the backbox. A larger shortcoming of the ALP is the relatively poor quality Playfield panel. Upgrading the backglass only stands to make the playfield's shortcomings stand out further.

    • @Tamarocker88
      @Tamarocker88 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It would be better customer support to follow up with the people on your waitlist rather than telling them to follow up with you. The customer is already waiting to place their order. The least BuyStuff can do is follow up with their customers to allow them to place their order.

      @@MichaelBtheGameGenie i had mastered the world of emulation a few years ago for arcade/console games, but virtual pinball is a whole other beast. I kind went all in on learning the tedious nature of it all, and got a decent mini virtual pinball machine (2 screen setup). The months I spent on the software side and hardware research, now it just sits collecting dust, hah.

  • @philwilliams8328
    @philwilliams8328 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Seriously, a must have? For $500 I can easily do without it as I rarely look at the backbox other than to see my score and ads nothing whatsoever to the game play.

    • @Tamarocker88
      @Tamarocker88 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, considering the whole ALP can be had for under $500 when on sale at Sam's club, it's an extremely high price relative to the benefit. It's like paying $100 for a full synthetic oil change at the dealer and then paying another $50 for a little tree air freshener!

  • @Kilroy_5150
    @Kilroy_5150 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love the guy's ideas but $500 plus tax is just too much. I can get the whole pinball machine, used, for that much on some places...$250 i can see because those screens are, basically, laptop LED screens and he's expanded on the original idea. It's good but not $500 good.
    nuff said?
