i think it is fucking duisgusting that a labour gov or any gov would let a great company like mg rover go bust, this country should lower its head in shame.for all you that buy foreign cars and other products you have made this country what it is,an industrial wasteland with record unemployment and record national debt. well done all.
What a despicable shame...it is rumoured that Gordon Brown regreted not helping Mg Rover when he could have, 33,000 jobs were lost around the uk as a direct result of the collapse of perhaps the last great british car manufacturer...it still makes me angry after all these years...I can still see MGR workers leaning against the boundary fence crying after being told Rover was finished.
Bristol is still an independent british car maker, also they are the last one as far as I know. I own a 220 Turbo coupe and that is a fine car for it's price!
@armjos1 Well said. We need more people like you, or more people that think like you at least, in this country. Rover cars where quality cars, cars that had soul, character, and class. They had something that other cars from all the other manufacturers diddnt. It is hard to describe, but theres something there.
Rover's have a name for blowing head gaskets on their engines but.. their still fantastic. My dad has a rover 45 it's fabulous, let's hope Rover comes back!
As an Italian and a lover of English cars, in the family we had two rover 600 Si, fantastic car, leather and wood interiors on the dashboard ..... now I have a 1996 rover 216 tomcat rednightfire, a rarity here in Italy certainly not. I will never sell it ..... we Italians have kept Fiat alive to preserve jobs, shoddy cars ..... now Fiat, as a thank you, produces abroad and pays taxes in Holland. for you English, having lost a historic and glorious brand like the Rover group, for this you have to "thank" the Bmw vultures who led the brand to bankruptcy

I love my MG TF! The government should never have approved that sale in 2000! Biggest mistake!!
if phoenix hadnt bought them in 2000, they would've collapsed then, and not '05

Something about this advert is really depressing; It's like the death rattle of a terminally ill person.

That Rover 75 V8 is absolutely stunning! I'd love one of them if I'd be able to be insured for one! (I'm only 23yrs old).
