ASTM D3039 Tensile test of fique fabric reinforced polymer matrix composite

The video shows the tensile test of a specimen made of three layers of fique fabric within a matrix of polyester resin. The coupon was made using the Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) technique using a vacuum pressure of -500 mmHg. The composite material has some defects. The applied force and the extension between test fixtures was being measured. The specimen was cured for a period of 2 h after demolding.
