It had to happen, to show that our justice system is fucked up beyond belief. But they couldn't have found a more upstanding figure to portray this. She did a bang up fucking job! I don't think we were seeing a character, this came from real life experience. She's real af yall

Man she is my favorite character, always have been from day one. I hate how her story ended but I get why Netflix did it that way. Taystee represents the thousands of inmates across America who get the raw end of the deal. They don’t deserve those sentences & honestly, they have no one to fight for them.

rannierunsfast The Max seasons were a lot darker. Seasons 1-4 were pretty chill for the most part, but after the riot started the show took a really dark turn

Taystee is (besides from being in prison ofc) the most relatable character in the show 😂
I believe Season 5 onwards, Taystee became the Main Character to me. While Piper and Alex were too busy dealing with Alex and Piper Season 5-7, Taystee actually went through this really incredible/tragic storyline, but by the end of the show, she evolved from the girl dancing with everyone to really begin reform in the prison system, while in prison.
Yup, she got involved in "white people politics" as she called it.

Taystee and Suzanne had such a great relationship, she helped so many people grow in different ways but when we saw Suzanne at the end of the series she was so different you could really see the impact taystee had on her

She did wrong and hopefully they intend offscreen that Cindy will eventually speak for her, however admittedly Cindy and Suzanne were the only ones who KNEW they guards planned to set someone up so they were just trying to protect themselves. Like it's a lose lose situation

It was Taystee or her to be fair. Cindy and Suzanne were the only ones who knew who really killed the guard, but Suzanne wouldn't be considered a reliable witness. As a consequence, Cindy was still on her own here. Still sucks what happened though, even if I get where she's coming from.
Watching the old season makes me realise how much I love the black crew from the first season onwards. Unfortunate they eventually got split up, but seeing all of them makes me happy🥺
I'm so sad she didn't get the ending she deserved, but whenever our favourite characters end up with a sad story ending, we have to remember that this happens in reality as well, a lot of injustice, unfair situations, they represent those people whose story we don't hear about but happen out there every day.
I don’t care how or when, they need to make a special episode in the future especially for her when she gets her justice and I truly hope they are thinking of that

Also, that “I will potato her at a future time.” “I know...” was on point. The facial expressions made it hilarious. Orange is so underrated in my opinion. Yes, it was popular...but should have been so much more.

Imo, I think it’s up to the viewer to decide whether or not Taystee got justice. The writers hinted at it when Pensatucky actually passed her GED, you should always wait because you never know what will happen.

Tasty was never a bad person she was just let down too many times it’s sad she had so much potential and a beautiful personality and could have had a really amazing future but had the worst luck her mum abandoned her , she lived in care all her life , moved in with a drug dealer cos she afraid of being homeless , sold drugs as that was her only form of income , both of her best friends died ,then was arrested for something she didn’t even do like she could only keep her smile wide for so long
