  • Hi sewing friends! 🌟
Today, I'm sharing an in-depth look at my journey through fashion university, a four-year degree in fashion design and garment construction that has profoundly shaped my career and personal growth.
In this video, I dive into why attending fashion university was a pivotal decision for me and explore whether it might be the right path for you. From taking a gap year to work and save money, to choosing the right university that aligned with my learning style, each step was crucial. I attended Whitecliffe, known for its supportive environment and excellent resources, which played a significant role in my education.
    Here’s what you’ll learn:
🌟 Why I Chose Fashion University: The benefits of structured learning and access to specialized knowledge in fashion.
🌟 Financial Planning: How I managed to graduate without student debt by working multiple jobs and carefully planning my finances.
🌟 The University Experience: Insights into the intense workload, the culture of creativity, and the importance of time management I mastered during my degree.
🌟Post-Graduation Realities: Transitioning from university to the workforce, the challenges I faced, and how my career has evolved to focus on education through sewing with my brand, Ford.

Fun video topic and your lighting and camera angle look great in this.
It was fun learning about how you got here and it made me feel more like we're friends to know a little bit about your past. I cannot believe that you were that student who had assignments done on time and would throw the rest of us under the bus... we would have been friends after college hahaha 😂. I relate to a lot that you said about finding the right path for you before you commit and getting the most out of every experience. I'm glad your path has led you here ❤.

Hello Sarah, we are defiantly sewing friends now !
Thank you for the feedback on the camera angle and the lighting. Such an improvement from my first video !
hahaha yes, I was a very prompt student, handing things in on time. But my point behind that is, it is best to learn about time management when you are in the education system where the consequences are low compared to when you get into the "real world" and the stakes are so much higher, like at a job.
Yes, finding the right path took time and that was something I was willing to invest after high school as I also felt a bit "burnt out" from always being in the formal education system and I needed to figure out what I wanted instead of what other people wanted me to do.
Funnily enough, a lot of my classmates from high school said that they regretted not taking a gap year as many of them went into a degree with little to no forethought on if they even wanted a job in that career path. Very glad I took my time figuring out what I wanted x
I've got another video idea coming up soon talking all about my portfolios that I produced for each of my collections, unfortunately I only have my third and fourth year ones, but very excited to showcase them,
      talk soon, Annie :) xx
