    I now have the Passport for about a week now. I am on it often. I am also using a Z30. I use the Passport more like a small tablet. It is a terrific phone. I installed a number of Android apps on it. They are working very well.
    I found on the Blackberry download site all the apps I need. I am not a game player. I am subscribed to some music and video services. These are working extremely well on this phone. My primary use is for both business and personal management. I actually do most of my emails on the phone since I am out on the road very often.
    I am an old timer with Blackberry phones. I have tried other types, and I will not change. I got used to the Blackberry quality and performance of their phones.

      ***** blackberry is second to none in terms of messaging, the keyboard is excellent, the hub is AMAZING!! I used z10 before I switched to OnePlus because it broke.. after months of using OnePlus, I'm still trying to get over the Hub experience... it's just too damn good for messaging purposes... as for your need of watching movie, I supposed you're better off with the Z30 :)

    • @yangtianshen8894
      @yangtianshen8894 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ***** no prob :)
      yeah, I forgot to mention the browser.. I used UC in my OPO now, it have flash support, but it still doesn't compete to the bb10 browser. for example, if you open a video in one tab, then moves to the other tab to do something, in my OPO the video would just stop and I had to re-buffer it again from where I left it, let alone minimizing the app... this is not the case with bb10 browser. I could go on to explain the small things that makes me miss the bb10os so much but that might took too much space :p
      From my experience (around 1 and a half year with z10) I never encountered any bugs with the native apps... that said, there's "occasional" bugs with the sideloaded android apps like force close or apps not opening. I said occasional because it didn't happen everytime, it just happen randomly.. bear in mind though, before it broke, it was on a leaked 10.3 os, that might be the reason. I don't know for sure though :p
      PS: sorry for the long post, I don't know how to make this more "compact" 😅

    The Passport is great but people must be reminded it is mainly intended for business people and those who work on the fly with documents/emails before anything, so gaming could be much more different because of the screen and the width of the phone.
    It's good to see Blackberry get back to making what they had done in the past, and will get a Passport by Christmas, hopefully.

    BlackBerry blend, usb host, hdmi connect, miracast, support 98% of Android app !
    BlackBerry is back !
    Microsd slot 128 gig ! 32 gig +128 gig = 164 gig!
    The BlackBerry Passeport is an amazing device!
    I hope that there will have the Passeport 2 all tactile like the Z30!

    Why would you need Android version of Twitter? There is a native version plus third-party Twitter apps. They communicate with the OS.

    I've been using BB's since the 9800/Playbook. If most of the major issues are with the software, that's pretty encouraging as Blackberry are very dedicated to improving their OS. They update their OS a lot more regularly than Android. That said I've found having an Android phone is a great way of overcoming any BB blindspots. Love that BB keyboard.

    This is a very good review. It is fair and it points out the flaw regarding Android apps that use Google Play services are not fully capturing the features within the Blackberry OS. Yet it accepts the particular features akin to Blackberry that have been improved and that keep fan boys like me coming back to their products.

    i've been using q10 and it's a great phone for work and play. i'm waiting to get this phone to enhance my experience further with the keyboard and bigger screen. I might miss some apps but in the end i don't really need them. I'm sure some games plays well on it too. can't wait to get my hand on it.

  • @nismot401
    @nismot401 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The "enterprise" factor isn't based around the keyboard. People mention this like BB never had a keyboard or the fact that it was gone at some point. To me, I work in IT and have had a BB for over 5 years, it is all about organization. With android there are so many distractions, talking about all the games,netflix, etc. Those are worthless in a business/enterprise device. In my 4 years of IT I get calls for iphones/androids all the time, but have maybe received 3-4 issues with a BB on an enterprise server, people miss this major point. Overall great review...patiently waiting on ATT to pick their feet up, get off their iPhone high horse, and sell me a Passport.

    Qwerty

    And many more things
    But from last 1 years I was completely shifted on Apple which I actually want to change now..let's see how the new passport is

    I find present smarphones great, but almost all of them lack from a real keyboard. The best phone I had was the LG GW620, which was a slider phone with keyboard. Great deal. I think BlackBerry has the winning niche here by still featuring those great keyboards in the phones.

    i said this before! Blackberry should be an Android phone with it's own overlay. Like Samung and htc does.
    Still keep the same experience but integrate the full Android experience. I would switch over if it did!
    I use the note 4. Came from the s5,s4,s3,s2 htc line. started with Blackberry and bi-passed the iphone completely and jumped on Android.

    I really like how blackberry didn't just follow the trend apple and samsung are creating. Blackberry has always has its own style and unique touch. I really love how blackberry working hard on creating its own element, uniqueness and style with no regards of what its competitors do, it is a very bold move and Im a blackberry user and will always be a BB user, as long as BB is standing out from the crowd and not just like those big touch screen phones.
    All the apple and samsung fanboys saying how bad BB phones are will never understand the beauty behind blackberry, they just blindly follow a brand because everyone uses it.

    Why blackberry was not joint android fully instead of building os based on android? I mean, they could make a skinned android with security and enterprise apps pre-installed if they want to.. And I think it would be so much better for the company's sales too..

News flash there buddy, four square comes native on BlackBerry right out of the box and has since BB10 was first released in 2012.

    I have been using BlackBerry ever since it emerged in the market and as businessman, I would at some point appreciate blackberry's consistency with especially with emails but the rest is just stuck with old cliché concept where there is no significant change in whole platform of it, it is even not consistent and flexible with today's growing software and app revolution.
    Best aspect is its security which I highly regard it as plus point for BlackBerry.
    But last, I hope the camera resolution is better than before, actually it sucks.

    Did he say that Foursquare needs side loading, that's ridiculous, it comes pre-installed with all BlackBerry 10 devices, it's native and gets updates often. Why do these guys make reviews and miss inform people. That's just BS.

      @jwyoungy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      lots, depends on where you live. The Big 3 in Canada sell it, AT&T in the US, or just buy it from BlackBerry itself

    The problem is the price. At same price range we have LG g4, galaxy s6. No way to give a chance to Blackberry with this insane price...

      So what if it's priced high? It's a flagship phone? Is their a hierarchy to follow that only LG, Samsung n Apple can price their flagship highly and not other Companies?

    If I can sell my Iphone 5 to Blackberry for money in exchange for this phone as an upgrade from AT&T then I will be ready for this product!

      @jwyoungy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can sell it to BlackBerry directly and buy from their website. I think they will pay up to $350 for an iPhone (that's the 6 I think, probably $250 for yours) plus a $100 discount off the passport and that's unlocked.

    PLEASE hurry up and make this available on Verizon. Why is AT&T always the preferred carrier for cool new stuff like this? Their coverage SUX in almost the places I travel.

    They don't talk with each other because it android apps and why it not built for blackberry you must ask that app developers LOL. Amazon AppStore just alternative for people who want to use their love app. Don't play blame games to blackberry, blame developers of that apps.

      lol, blame the devs?? peoples are 100% right in blaming blackberry for coming too late to the game, the devs already gave up and move on.

    Apart from business men and women I don't see this doing well on the general consumer market. Even with businesses I think it will sell slowly simply because iPhones and Android phones can do what BlackBerry can and more.

      spoken from someone who has obviously never used a new blackberry for more than 2 seconds. out of the box, according to the worlds biggest tech magazine, BB10 is the best most feature rich OS on the market.
