Canelo vs Bivol will be at light heavy weight (175 lbs) for Dmitry Bivol's WBA Light heavy weight title. Canelo is coming off his biggest win after beating Caleb Plant and becoming undisputed at super middleweight 168lbs. The first to ever do it.

Beterbiev didn't call anyone. He just said, "I want all the belts." He never mentioned the name of a boxer. Canelo, He doesn't care about that. Find me an interview where Beterbiev called a boxer. The only name he mentioned was Usyk. They fought 3 times in the amateurs and Beterbiev knockdown Usyk 3 times He wants to fight again in the pros. everybody avoided Beterbiev. The only boxer who had the balls to challenged Beterbiev was Gvozdyk. The reslut was Beterbiev won the WBC belt and Gvozdyk 2 days at the hospital and then retirement. Why do you think Canelo wanted to fight Makabu instead Beterbiev? It's simple Canelo avoided Beterbiev like the others boxer.

Very old school way of punching he literally "throws" his punches and doesn't push them. His technique reminds me of a young Joe Frazier. Very hard hitting and punches with abandon - but also very very efficient.

First time since GGG that I am close to not having Canelo a favorite. I still think Canelo beats Bivol - but this is a fight I won't be surprised if Bivol wins either. First big test on a big stage for Bivol though and Canelo has been there many times. It's experience and power that I think Canelo has on Bivol. However, there is going to spots in this fight where Bivol will actually be faster. Bivol also has superior footwork in my opinion. Bivol seems to be able to take a punch really well too. How does Bivol handle Canelo's power? How does Canelo adjust to the speed and footwork? I say again - mark my words... Bivol is better than anybody Canelo has fought since GGG. By far. He's proven this time and again against fighters with little to no experience at the championship level and a shot fighter with 2 months prep at 175lb. Bivol is a different breed. It'll go the distance.
@AntMan 2 months is plenty of time. Do you know how camps work? Camps should never be about a fighter losing tons of weight or getting in shape. A training camp is to come up with a plan to beat your opponent. To develop more skills and to sharpen your basic skills. A boxer should come in shape already; if you're overweight and barely losing weight, then you risk over training. That's why boxing is considered a 360-day sport. You need to keep a diet and a good amount of workouts when you're off a fight. That way, when you get to camp, you focus on the plan and not on losing weight. All the great champs started a camp 3 or 4 months before their real one. Fighters who went beyond their job like canelo, Mayweather pacquiao and some others worked out outside of camps to keep their bodies fresh. People who gain too many pounds and don't watch themselves like Benavidez and tank are going to age fast in their sport. It all plays a part in diet, your body gets tired of gaining and losing weight rapidly. One of the prime examples is erik morales; he used to balloon up in weight and dehydrate to make weights in fights. He only lasted till his mid-30s.
Bivol is too fast for canelo at 175, don’t you remember canelo vs kovalev? Canelo was too slow and threw just few shots… if kovalev would’ve more time to prepare for that fight he would’ve won that fight for points.

But Canelo is a very good counter puncher with power enough to stop GGG from excessively pressing. Bivol is very good on his feet, he disrupts timing with in and out movement, distance control, doubling up on the same hand. He is much younger than GGG and still has an engine. He did look rusty in his COVID era fights but I imagine like everyone that you have limited sparring at the time and he should be much better. Canelo is always ready and experienced, so that's where he has the slight odds imo. But if bivol focus on defense and is in prime condition, this fight will be epic,...

This is one of the fights i was looking forward to. Bivol always plans to go the distance and both fighters put work in to break down their opponents over rounds, although I'd suggest the edge in knockout power goes to Canelo. We will soon see if Bivol's distance and work ethic is as soundas it seems with a prolific counter puncher like Canelo. if there was anyone out there currently that could beat Canelo I see it as Bivol with Beterbiev being the only other one out there. Bivol vs Canelo is better stylistically imho. I hope Bivol is readyfor his big opportunity.
Beterbiev isn't that good. IMO Canelo beats him inside of 4. His chin is very questionable; he doesn't have one-punch KO power to hurt Canelo or get his respect during a fight; he's a fight that throws a lot of bunches to accumulate the damage, which, considering the those above, is what would make it a relatively quick fight. Beterbiev probably picks up the pace of pressure and output by Round 3 and gets countered as a result in a later round.

Bivol is too technically sound for Beterbiev and I was hoping this fight would happen between these two first to show that Bivol is ready for Canelo. Canelo as you say is too good a counter puncher for Beterbiev and Beterbiev can't walk through either of there punching power like he has others. Imo Bivol out classes Canelo. Canelo tends to be a slow starter and I think Canelo will have a tough time landing on Bivol. Canelo comes on late but I see Bivol as winning the decision or a draw.

Based on just these clips it looks like Bivol is very light on his feet and has some good speed and power. I'm excited. I definitely see this as one of Canelos biggest challenges because Bivolis bigger but also shows power and speed and footwork. Someone said something along the lines of can Bivol handle the biggest stage and pressure from what's going on right now. He stays focused it'll be a phenomenal battle

Canelo's punches are just so much more powerful and thuding upon impact, Plant and especially Saunders are a testament to this, plus Canelo makes you miss so much.
Bivol has great foot speed and hand speed with power with a reach advantage so this isn’t a cherry it’s a great matchup and challenge for Canelo I personally think he is better then Benavidez

I've followed Canelo over the years and I'm sold on him as a p4p great today, Bivol I really don't know much about but I've looked at some of his fights and now training and he's very good, he might even be a harder puncher than Canelo and remember he is a naturally bigger person. His leverages on his punches look very good and he's in shape now, I think we're for one hell of a fight!
