I was introduced by his personal secretary in 2008 and had been close with his first bassist, Gidget Gein aka Brad Stewart (may he RIP), for years before that ...and when I say she 'asked for it', I mean she LITERALLY would ask for it. She'd would talk up a storm about how "experienced" she was in such matters (sex, BDSM, 'lolita-relationships' as she dubbed them..most of this stuff can be found in interviews with them at time as they often interviewed together) any time anyone was willing to listen...a lot of us DID NOT like her because she was obviously "a poseur" and had a groupie-mentality...had it not been for fame years earlier as a teen actress, he would not have paid her a second thought...he was coming off of the relationship with Dita and Evan was DIta's opposite. Evan was an enabler and a "yes-woman"...she'd agree with everything he said to the point where she'd be asking his friends about his likes and dislikes so that she could research them and then pretend they were her own. it was insane...it's more insane to have known them in their relationship and know that she's doing this. think 50 shades of gray...but the main character realizes that she can sue the dude for all he's worth by reframining consensual BDSM as an insane kidnapping situation....its really rather clever...and then KNOWING that she can actually get away with this and KNOWING that most of his former relationships had a tinge of BDSM...she started contacting his ex's and about a 1/3rd of them (nobody talks about the silent 2/3rds) agree to hop on board this band wagon as their own careers are flailing and claiming that their ex "tortured" them will get them a gig in an HBO documentary and a couple of mentions in a paper before their 15 minutes of bespoke shame are up.

Manson was not legally bound to pay ALL her attorney fees just the fees that related to the anti slapp motion. To Manson it's likely a small price to pay for ALL erws attorney fees just to be able to walk away and continue working. How MM has remained strong through all this blasphemous crap proves what resilience he has. It shows maturity and strength on Manson part to drop his case against ERW. He has alot of positive things happening in his life ATM, so he needs to concentrate on those things. I'm eternally grateful to my other favorite band, 5FDP for taking MM on tour with them. They obviously believed in him and after dealing with Ivan Moody being judged and crucified, I think they understood Manson needed someone to have faith in him. I heard the tour is stellar and it's like MM wasn't ever gone. I'm so proud of Manson that I get emotional with tears and I want to hug him.
The comments about settling cases implies some measure of guilt is absolutely not true. There comes a point where it becomes financially crippling. An average lawyer bills $300-$500 an hour. A lawyer of the caliber of Johnny Depp's attorneys are $1,000+ an hour. Add paying the other party's lawyers too, it's just too much. Over 80% of all civil cases are settled out of court. The courts encourage settlement as there is no way the court calendar can handle trying every case. ERW should be in prison for this mess, especially impersonating an FBI agent. I'm glad to see Manson having a well-deserved comeback.
Manson actually DROPPED the case, meaning he admitted defeat. He actually wanted to settle from the beginning but Evan rejected knowing she had more realistic chances of winning the suit, if it all was for the money don't you think she would have just accepted the offer and disappeared? At least I will give he was mature enough to admit that this was just an uphill battle for his money he was never going to win.
@@asdszf withdrawing a case is not admitting defeat. If Manson sued wood to get his career back and he is now touring and dropping albums what purpose does it serve to continue the lawsuit? Wood made public accusations (allegations with no police reports no evidence or lawsuits of her own against Manson) that cost Mason his career. Sexual assault allegations are in their prime, Its trendy now so its the perfect time to seek these. The social perception is ripe for the taking and lawyers know this. I propose a 5 year cap on all abuse cases. If it is not reported within 5 years of the abuse then it cant be pursued legally in any form be it defamation or criminal.

Manson is rebuilding his career, and is doing great. I think he's ready to put all this bs behind him. But I also think this is a smart move, because the defamation suit isn't going anywhere. And ERW will likely be facing worse legal problems down the line since she impersonated an FBI agent and forged evidence. I imagine Manson plans to go after her with this instead, since winning a defamation case wouldn't actually result in ERW receiving jailtime, and the girl who helped her deserve. Manson doesn't want nor need money from her. And going by the lyrics in his new album, he's out for blood. He wants to absolutely destroy her. and a defamation suit won't cut it. If I was ERW, I'd be lawering the f up.
If something criminal happened then why doesn't the district attorney file criminal charges? It's always the accusors making a claim decades after supposed events and filing a lawsuit seeking money.
I guess Manson has better things to do than deal with litigation, but me personally, I would never let this go. Whether privately or publicly, whether legally or not, I'd get even.
I knew nothing about it but didn’t believe it, it was the timing. We saw several of these things pop up all at once and not one case seemed real. It became the swan song of these women’s careers, a last attempt at relevancy by crying (hmm not sure if I can use the real word) struggle cuddles
I don't know if he is guilty or innocent or something in-between, but one of the wild things she did at the start was sending out a solicitation for other victims in a letter that was made to look like it was from the FBI, making it look like there was already an invitation happening. You might look back on a relationship differently if you knew they were under FBI investigation. If I remember it wrong I am sorry. It was a short lived story with lawyer TH-camrs when it happened which was years ago at this point.
I don't believe Evan Rachel Wood. It's odd she deleted that post naming Manson. If she really was a victim she would have left it up. If you are gonna have sex partners make them sign a contract of consent. You get a copy and they get a copy so there is no room for this kind of stuff. Manson dropping the case isn't an admission of guilt.
Good for Brain Warner, I'm happy Marylin Manson is moving on in the best way possible, with success in his music career. Love the new work, I feel like some music labels are a little quick to drop their stars at the risk of a little controversy, but their loss is another's gain.
This makes no sense.🤨 If Manson drops his defamation lawsuit because he doesn't really have a case then that logically means there's enough evidence to support Evan Rachel Wood's claims that he abused her, right? I mean, if she made claims about him being abusive without being able to provide any evidence to support those claims then that should be a slam dunk for Manson if he files a lawsuit against her.

Phoenix rising was devoid of substance and contained multiple contradictions. Evan Rachel Wood is a liar.
I think that woman is just completely crazy.
ERW was best friends with Amber Heard when both girls were with Manson and Depp. No coincidence.
They happened at different times. Also, Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp have been friends for years so how is that not the coincidence? Johnny Depp has many legal wars where he or his body guards assaulted someone and Johnny Depp settled the majority of those cases. They all sound like toxic people in toxic relationships. You can't say that the men are the innocent ones when they also do questionable things just as much as the women they are with

It's really difficult to win a defamation lawsuit over there. That's part of the reason why JD did his in Virginia and not California, because their laws make it a bit easier.
defamation law suits generally do not go anywhere. Sadly neither do rape or abuse cases. Most don't even get reported. Justice for ERW
The judge was also blatantly working against him and was biased.
You can’t go to California for logical thinking you can go anywhere else in the world for that
He sued in that state because that’s the state where the newspaper was based out of… he had to sue there
@@sophritohAbsolutely right! Washington Post HQ is in Virginia which is who AH wrote the article against JD. JD's lawyers had to file in VA. Laws are NOT easy in VA that's why JD chose a Jury trial leaning on the help of the people of Virginia.

ERW is an absolute psychopath! Men will largely dodge women like this because we use our gut feeling but sometimes we get caught up and it is hell on earth! Men, once you get a gut feeling something’s not right, don’t try to fix them or help them, leave. There is no helping them!
Right from the start I knew Manson was innocent. None of his exes ever said anything alarming, it's why I didn't believe some female celebs who started talking bad on their partners who've been innocent (JD)
Aww man she should not get away with this but I get that he wants it done now. Especially with how well his career has picked back up.
Honestly it’s the best way to end it, this would have dragged on for years and costed millions in legal fees. His comeback has been very successful so I think he knows there’s no point in dragging this on. Those of us that stand with him have made up our minds and so have the people that never liked him to begin with.
I guess I Don't blame him for not wanting a Depp v Heard court situation... but i can see how withdrawing his suit and paying her fees doesn't look the best for him.. I just hope he didn't do it and they both move on
he "did it" but she "asked for it"
I knew them both at the time.
Nah, this case was going on forever and wasn't going anywhere and had no end in sight. Recanting of allegations by other women, the fake FBI crap, the fact the police STILL have his raided stuff and haven't done anything with it because there's nothing there. I know it was a defamation case, but if there was anything to prove he was who she claimed him to be, it would have all come out already and he'd have been arrested for good. I'm sure his friend Depp's case made an impact on bad he wanted justice, or if he just wanted it to end. Now was the best time to end it if he wanted to move forward. Was/is he a complete abusive asshole (especially while on drugs and drinking)? Probably. Probably definitely. Absolutely. But I wonder if there is anything more than that. No one will know what happens behind closed doors, but there were plenty of people to see the alleged rape during filming. That's an insane amount of people to stay silent if so.

Lock ERW up for impersonating a FBI agent
Being tied up with someone in court is incredibly draining, time consuming and expensive. And when you are dealing with someone who is toxic, unbalanced, and has poured all their energy into trying to ruin your life there comes a point where you just want it all to stop. You just want to live your life and focus on the things that bring you happiness and success. If he had done Any of the crap claimed why did ERW lie about So many things? It's insane actually. She is lucky not to be going to prison for what she did. Anyway, I'm glad to see Manson looking healthy and sober and creating music again.
So you stand with someone who has been charged with assault? You stand with someone who admitted to calling her over 100 times in a row, and threatening to kill with a sledgehammer? (Marilyn)
Don't confuse this lawsuit with criminal charges. This was a defamation and emotional distress lawsuit made by Manson on wood. Wood made public accusations (allegations with no police reports no evidence or lawsuits of her own against Manson) that cost Mason his career. Manson sues to prove woods accusations wrong and in the meantime gets his career back on his own. The point of Mansons lawsuit has now been resolved. In the two years this has been making it through the courts erw has lost primary custody of her son, taken a major hit to her credibility and failed to have criminal charges brought against Manson. It benefits them both to end it now. Manson because he already got what he set out for and wood cause she doesn't want to continue to be sued.

I saw Manson in concert just a couple months ago. He was great, he looked great and I think it built his confidence hearing fans shout I love you.

No man stands a chance in california when it comes to ,rightfully suing a woman for slander. He was fkd the moment he tried it.
I guess Manson has better things to do than deal with litigation, but me personally, I would never let this go. Whether privately or publicly, whether legally or not, I'd get even.
I never believed any of it.
