    One important thing to be aware of is that backing up and restoring does not include livesets.

      VERY important point! Thanks for mentioning it. I was pissed the first time I did it and all my livesets were gone. Best to back them up when you create them.

    Thank you, thank you. This is the first tutorial I've found after hours of TH-cam searching that actually shows how to import the patches and export them to your Katana. All the other videos just assume you already know how to do it so they skim right over it or they just don't know how to explain things in a way that makes sense to a newbie. Had my Katana for three days now and I feel I'm just now getting to use one of the best parts of tone studio. Okay, I'm a new subscriber now.

      @@Guitarnivore I'm hoping you can answer a question about an issue I've run into that I can't work out. I noticed there were 4 presets already saved in my newly purchased MKII 50 when tone central was downloaded. Having downloaded patches and attempting to test them out, the patch tones would not change most of the time when clicking the mouse on different patches to try out. However, only after turning the amp off and on, the new tone would kick in when trying them out. This would only last for anywhere between 2 and 6 different patches, then the tones would not change again regardless of when patch I was clicking on. Had to turn the amp off and on again for it to work properly again and the cycle would repeat to where I turned the amp off and on in order for the new tone to be heard. I have the newest update downloaded as well. Can you assist at all? Thanks in advance...

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tg8882 I recall having a similar issue, but it was a while ago. Maybe back up your patchers and do a factory reset on the amp. It won't roll back your firmware, so don't worry about that. Also, if you have another usb cable, try switching it out. I've had cables go bad.

    If im understanding this correctly you can have only 4 presets? Also, when you change settings on the amp knobs, does it save your changes to the preset? Thanks for the helpful video just adding a few questions.

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  ปีที่แล้ว

      With the 50, yes only 4 presets. If you use the panel to make adjustments and you want to save them, you have to long press the bank/channel button you want to save it to. The best way to go is with the Tone Studio though. It makes it a lot easier. There is also a $9 mobile app you can use.

    • @HELLNAWW
      @HELLNAWW ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Guitarnivore Thanks for the info. I figured out that yes it's 4 presets, but each preset can have 3 effects and each effect slot can have 3 settings. That's actually not too bad and opens up plenty of options imo.

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HELLNAWW I really wish they'd make a GA-FC type footswitch for the 50, so you could switch between the channels and turn fx on and off. That's the only reason I moved up to the 100's.

    I have the Boss Katana MKII 100w. Has anyone tried to install Tone Central on a M1 Mac mini? Boss web site says they have no intention of making this work for the M1, al though many apps run under rosetta on the M1. I loaded this on an older iMac with High Serria and it trashed my system and I had to re-install!

  • @nb8374
    @nb8374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question: I'm a new Katana MK2 owner, and my question is what happens to the preset factory patches in channels 1-8 when you import new tones into those banks? Do you have to do a factory reset to get them back? Or do they remain in the library indefinitely with their own patch names? Thanks!

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question. It's been awhile and I'm not sure. The best thing to do if you like those patches is to create a new group in your tone library and save them there. That way if you ever want to get them back, you can just reload them into the bank.

      Sorry for the delay. A lot depends on your guitar. Sometimes your pickups can't always get the same sound as other have programmed it with. You may also need to adjust your amp/master volumes.
