For those who are not in the know - it is "Kelly, watch the stars." by Air. In the same area as Daft Punk but a very different, more mellow group. Also two Frenchmen. Kudos to Andy for doing this song!
So how do I hook it all up? I put my mic into the 3 pin mic input, my lead into the guitar and other into the in on vocoder, the the output lead out of the vocoder out, and into the amp. It's not working though? please help
dude. nostalgia. back when I had an ehx v256 vocoder, "human after all" was the first song I learned to play. youtube needs a "double-like" button, just for this video.
OMG with the first note that bass played in the beginning of the video I instantly knew it was AIR - I love you andy! what a great song to sell a pedal :D
Imagine if the vocoder had been around in Les Paul's day. He'd have one built into the guitar, singing into the gooseneck mic he had fitted to some of his customs :D Someone should build that guitar now, and start a one man robot band.
6:36 Wow, that is very Robin Guthrie, right there! Cocteau Twins didn't use vocoder as far as I know, not with voices anyway, but this would have added beautifully to their style back then. Great presentation overall. Thanks for putting this up.
As a musician, I dont understand why musicians hate auto tune so much. Its an effect that vocalists can use. Let’s throw away our whole pedal board rigs and only play acoustic piano and guitar. No need for reverb, amps, comp, phaser, chorus, or distortion.
Vocoders are really fun- I use my TC Helicon Vocoder a bunch- just used it in a Cissy Strut funk jam on my channel - th-cam.com/video/zos-EE4er_Y/w-d-xo.html
As a backing vocalist I don't need an fx loop, I need an xlr out that bypasses the effect. I'm not setting up two mics for an effect I'll use maybe twice in a gig. But yeah I really want this pedal.
+Jolann Brown Synths? I'd like to hear that little red box with a clavinet, a whirly, or even a hammond organ. Vocoding originated with synths though, so.
this bass is talking baby
Jesus Christ... oh yeah!
Ohhh hey yeah oohhhh yeah
Love the incesticide pic
That's AIR for ya! Some sweet bass lines is what they are all about.
I read that as ‘the bass is a talking baby’ 👶
"This bass is talking baby, this bass is talkin' oh' yeah" lol, I love it!
+1000 for doing Air. In a guitar pedal demo. Andy's breadth of musical mastery is unparalleled.
I was thinking the same thing! Air inspired me to buy a synth and I'm now learning how to play keyboard to add to my library of music here on youtube.
about 5 years ago, I discovered Air (French Band) because of this comment. So Thank You.
Dang, he even sings without a pick, that's amazing pick-less vocal technique right there
😂😂😂
Sometimes, ya think it can’t be like that, but it do.
LOOK HOW MUCH FUN ANDY IS HAVING.
Gareth Webb no doubt he is having a blast.

This is by far, one of the silliest and one of the best PGS videos made.
'Without any gross mouth tubes' ...Great job again!
It kinda looks like he's about to burst out laughing on that bass part...
+Kley De Jong
dow dow bapdow dow dow dow dow
THIS BASS IS TALKING
BASS IS TALKIN
BASS IS TALKIN
OH YEAH
So how do I hook it all up? I put my mic into the 3 pin mic input, my lead into the guitar and other into the in on vocoder, the the output lead out of the vocoder out, and into the amp. It's not working though? please help
From all of Andy’s demos, which are excellent. This is my absolute favourite. I like how he shows off the Daft Punk tracks etc. I want one now!
It was Kelly Watch The Stars by Air.
This dude's demos are always top notch, thanks Andy and PGS
plot twist this is just how andy talks in his day to day and when he talks in his videos it's just a vo
Okay but what happens when you put a Miku Stomp in the loop?
+Steven Chabot Portal into another dimension will open. Obviously.
Somebody call Chappers and the Captain immediatley!!!
Yup, we really need to find this out
+Colin Plumb The first thing I thought of haha
+Colin Plumb yes!
"Kelly Watch the Stars" by Air
Now I can start my Daft Punk tribute band.
dude. nostalgia. back when I had an ehx v256 vocoder, "human after all" was the first song I learned to play. youtube needs a "double-like" button, just for this video.
if you had a really shitty day, this video will make you smile again!
Polyphonic Vocoder Advanced Mode activated is now stuck in my head
The talk box setting is pretty convincing!
+R.J. Ronquillo Oh yeah. And without all the hassle of a traditional talk box. And that can actually be used with bass.
Not until I get Peter Frampton’s opinion will I be convinced 😉
My favorite part in the original Transformer's movie was where Soundwave approached Megatron and said "Polyphonic vocoder advanced mode activated!"
Seen several demos of this pedal and this one really shows what this thing can do. Thanks ,I'm sold,I need one now. :)
"everybody will be dancing if you're doing it right"
Watching this was a pure joy. Thank you, Andy. Love Air, love your playing, perfect.
the best song choice i have ever seen for a vocodor demo.
That kashmir-piece gave me chills
Was hoping for some "mr. Blue sky" or any ELO.
"Video killed the radio star"
Do it yourself!
“The bass is talking, baby!
The bass is talking, oh yeah!”
❤😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤
After seeing this, my life is complete. Andy is the man.
Andy was born to demo. The King of demo.
Haha. Funnest version of Kelly Watch the Stars by Air ever. Thanks, Andy.
what a fun demo. one of my faves and i just watched it for the first time.
Andy this is your best review
Looks like this was the most fun demo to make!
Thanks Andy, always enjoy watching you playing.
I sure wish there was a blooper reel for this demo...hilarity must have ensued
Wow, never thought I'd hear Air on a pedal demo. Andy's got good taste.
Andy did Air. My life. Is. Complete.
I make a living playing a C-1 into an OR15. But, I can still enjoy joy. Why do you hate joy? When do you feel you were betrayed by joy?
This is a good demo. I'm getting one of these if I ever see one in the wild.
OMG with the first note that bass played in the beginning of the video I instantly knew it was AIR - I love you andy! what a great song to sell a pedal :D
I'm pretty sure this is my favorite pedal demo of all time
This is by far the funniest pedal demo I've seen. Pretty close to the miku pedal
You get some pretty neat sounds around 5:44 .. lots of unique uses for this pedal!
Imagine if the vocoder had been around in Les Paul's day. He'd have one built into the guitar, singing into the gooseneck mic he had fitted to some of his customs :D Someone should build that guitar now, and start a one man robot band.
This is a really odd comment to come across two years after, I just the other day had the idea to have a robot themed rock band with vocoded vocals
I bet Andy had allot of fun making this one
80's flashback!!
...this is now my favorite Andy demo...
I love heavy metal and daft punk. I think this is my dream pedal
Andy at this best here
ProGuitarShopDemos This works on Electric Accordions too, & it made a Piano Accordion sound like a Choir. That invention was called the Choirdion.
The "TalkBox TalkBox TalkBox "was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
..greetings from world's very newest vocoder artist...🖤🤘
AIR! Yes! Always love your demos
Trippy! Looks like a barrel of fun - also looks like Andy's trying to suppress laughter early on!
“That guys guitar is talkin”
“My shoes are talkin man “
These can get cheesy pretty quick, but as usual Andy did an amazing job. Not for me, but cool pedal!
I never even stopped to watch this lmao it's actually rly freaking cool!
I didn't know John Cusack plays bass !
Ikr?
I was waiting for Pigs (three different ones) solo!
hahaha yes! look at my profile pic!
hahaha yes! look at my profile pic!
Brett Griffith One of Floyd's finest albums in my opinion!!
+Erick Chicas My favorite.
Andy you should totally write songs, if you do not already!! Hello to Becca
That human after all lick made me feel gooooood.
Andy, can we see the outtakes from this? Gotta be some clips of you cracking up. Pleeeeeeease!
6:15 Sounds like Glados from Portal games.
Beef-Wellington uh oh, you have now given me a reason to buy it...
ok andy, now that you covered an air song, you have sold me.
6:36 Wow, that is very Robin Guthrie, right there! Cocteau Twins didn't use vocoder as far as I know, not with voices anyway, but this would have added beautifully to their style back then. Great presentation overall. Thanks for putting this up.
Excellent Andy ! Thank you
Andy man, you are loving life
The first demo gives me ELO vibes
This damn pedal can do so much!
was waiting for Daft Punk! never disappointed
Great PGS Andy kinda, great use for more controls of ambient sounds it reminds me of top 40 radio snds creative none the less.
This reminds me of that one Key and Peele sketch..."make fun of the robot voice!"
"The tears....they *burrrrn* "
Miss these demos
I appreciate it, don’t forget I’ve been making them non-stop on Reverb and AndyDemos channels. 👊💥
You can sing too, Sir Andy!!! =)
Amazing!
Peter Frampton would like this
Nicely done Andy!
I want to get this and play a solo gig and talk like Soundwave for 5 hours
Should have done the entire spoken description part with the effect
good lookin out Andy
I don't know what it is but saying Oh Yeah always comes to mind when using a talk box
Choir mode would be neat with swells
Andy, what a good sport ;)
but what if i cup the mic?
Great demo...Sold me the pedal!
Nice deep cut with Air!! 👌🏼
The second I read Vocoder, I knew Andy was going to throw in some "Rocky Mountain Way".
I wish this replaced auto-tune.
Actually, vocoders are being used quite frequently, but unfortunately being confused with autotune.
As a musician, I dont understand why musicians hate auto tune so much. Its an effect that vocalists can use. Let’s throw away our whole pedal board rigs and only play acoustic piano and guitar. No need for reverb, amps, comp, phaser, chorus, or distortion.
@@Jtheflavor83 it's overused with a lack of creativity
skeleton amen

or....how about a simple A/B box
lol, gota be one of the funniest PGS vids!
A sign of a great demo is taking me from zero interest to major g.a.s. Well done Andy
fantastico!
they should pay you cuz you convinced me in two minutes over this vocoder. i mean boss speak for themselves, but this is dope
The settings just using as a pedal were cool though
i would like andy to be speaking into a microphone in every demo from this point forward if you don't mind
Dude! I've always wondered how to do that sound and I know now what to get for my pedal board. Thanks!
reminds me of tame impala's Let It Happen or Tobacco/BMSR
Daniel Lee ... Dude, I LOVE tobacco & black moth super rainbow. He incorporates talkbox & vocoder in a totally new style
you're having entirely too much fun.
You can never have too much fun with pedals
That's all I need. My bass talking back to me. LOL
I said I would never buy another Boss pedal. Dammit Andy! That talk box was very convincing. but how is it working without a tube to shape the sound??
haha i love andys videos! i actually wouldnt mind knowing if he ever released a guitar album? i bet it would be awesome!
Cool! Will it give good results with a synth too ?
+Jolann Brown Absolutely!
+Jolann Brown Synths? I'd like to hear that little red box with a clavinet, a whirly, or even a hammond organ. Vocoding originated with synths though, so.
