- we're making my mom goth today! :) we had a fun afternoon talking about the 80s, doing her make up and dressing her in my regular goth things. My mom usually dresses very normal, casual, colourful, whatever you want to call it, so today we thought she should try my style for a day. The transformation worked so well :D Thanks mom for doing this with me!

I love that she's supportive of you and I think it's so nice of you to tell/ask her when you need to do something that might be uncomfortable for her, to get her permission. My mum coloured in the dress on the picture of my last birthday card so it was black! 🖤🖤 It means so much to have supportive parents!

I like transformation videos like this. Your mom had nice taste in music & she listened to The Cure 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 even before you put the makeup & outfit on her - which was amazing by the way. She could consider herself a Goth because we all must remember first & foremost it's a music-based subculture. You did a really nice job & she was a good sport for agreeing to do the video with you. At least now you have a lot pictures I hope of you both dressed in a Gothic style together. 🖤
Hehe yes I thought so too! She's probably listened to a lot of stuff back then which are today played at goth clubs 😉😁 and yes, we took lots of pictures of course!

You see a lot of people like her mom at goth events, probably more than people my age (mid 90’s born millennials.) god for Gen Z who are taking the torch that millennials didn’t know keep properly lit. Slipknot is not a goth band.
There are those who'll call slipknot goth, but I also know lots of younger people who are really into post punk and dark wave
