I dont think the graphics need a remake. I dont play RA3 because it isnt made out of voxels so it feels claustrophobic to play. Unlike RA2 amd Mental Omega.

I passed RA2 for Soviets using conscripts and sometimes mixed with dogs and flack troopers... Almost all missions... on Hard Difficulty... Just making waves of conscripts and send them to enemy postion through attack move. For Aliance same... but it needs not less than 2 barracks because GI training longer... Each time you reach enemy position deploy GIs and they destroy everything around in a blink of eye... but send them not less than 90-100 units
Economicaly it is effective... Conscripts 30 units = 3000 its cheaper than 2 Appocalypsises but 30 cons kill 2 Appocs easily. With clone device its 60 cons that is more dangerous
I think it becomes a less fair test of strength when the conscripts start amassing while the GI's have to stay spaced out. It's just a classic example of force concentration. This would be even more one sided if you actually concentrated the GI's effectively rather than nerfing them by keeping them spread.

Yo ucan see the wave of conscripts slowly bunch together, meaning more of them are coming into range than before, whereas the GI's just stay stationary and the amount of GIs able to shoot remains unchanged. As soon as the Conscripts reach critical mass, they overwhelm them.

The GIs have the obvious advantage of being stationary, thus they condense their firepower much better, and that density of firepower holds throughout the battle. Meanwhile, the conscripts get scattered around and focused down as they advance. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you can bring all of them to the frontline

The thing is, that disadvantage comes naturally with large numbers. If you remove it, it's no longer a valid test. Same reason the ability to be promoted mid-fight is important.

I love how those westwood classic rts games always handled so damm good the pathfinding and also a lot units in game. If you look to other games in the era, they all had either bad path finding or limited build cap.
If I remember my rules.ini file correctly Conscripts also have flak armour as standard so have a little extra defence which certainly seems to come into play more at higher veterancies, of course GIs get wiped when note deployed.
I loved modifying that ini file for specific maps. I ended making tanks super weak to troll some online players who played my maps. It was hilarious. The good old days.
Unfortunately, this video also comes with the conclusion that quantity will beat quality in large scale and whenever conscripts fight it's ALWAYS a large scale fight and they will ALWAYS come in large number.

Simplistic and not entirely accurate. What happens was that in the beginning of the German invasion, the Soviets were caught off guard. It was a surprise after all. In these first battles the Germans overwhelmed the Soviets in numbers as the Soviets were scattered, scrambling for leadership, trying to fall back East. After Stalingrad, the Soviet were now on the offensive. When taking a fortified position, the attack force really needs to be 3x the defenders. Casualties will be expected to be larger on the attackers. The Germans of course knew they were coming and dug in.

I always edited the ini so troops will move when about to get run over. I always thought it was dumb how they would just stand there in the direct path of the tank and NOT move. I dunno about you. But if I seen any vehicle trying to run me over I am damn well going to try my hardest to get out of the way!!!!!!!!!

conscript is used a lot in pro games (not as often as the basic tanks still), GI is rarely used in pro games unless you are playing America (free GI paratrooper).
conscripts is tough and cheap but got outperformed by other troops but for their low training cost you can train more of them to deal with that disadvantage

But that would ruin the test. The strength of the GI is their boosted stats while in bunker mode. If you deprive them of that stat its not a fair test. I guess he could have done a "Control test" of the GIs attacking and not using their bunker at all but really the question people would be interested is this version.
It makes sense that “elite”/veteran conscripts would be much better than veteran GIs with the 2:1 ratio. Think of it this way, an American GI’s base training is way better than the Soviet Conscripts. The American GI starts as a 1 and develops into a 2 as a veteran. The Conscript starts as a .5 and becomes a 1.5. You can see this clearly in the vet on vet fights.
its all about how stack and shooting range. Deployed were more range if they low rank, and if they high rank conscripts were more walking speed so more stack during battle.
Shouldn't the GI move towards the soviet conscripts because to me these tests were a little rigged, with it being more favoured towards the Gi being dug in.
when I play RA2 back then I always play as allied, mostly America just because of GI. they are OP if stack and put side by side together. 2 airborne units can destroy a whole AI base

It's nearly useless. They're just meat. It's good that they can be used to Garrison buildings.
Paratrooper spam is underrated. It's basically free units.
If mixed with tanks, conscripts work better than GI due to their mobility and flak armour... but dogs are still the best

The American GI starts as a 1 and develops into a 2 as a veteran. The Conscript starts as a .5 and becomes a 1.5. You can see this clearly in the vet on vet fights.

its all about how stack and shooting range. Deployed were more range if they low rank, and if they high rank conscripts were more walking speed so more stack during battle.

I dont fight conscript like power to power. I use tanks to step them. Theres another way to win efficiently.

GI’s are defensive Units. Hence their “Dug-in” skill increases their Defense and Offensive Stats than a Conscript.

I completed the entire allied campaign basically with GI spam whenever I could it was the Soviet campaign the really made me think army comps
Shouldn't the GI move towards the soviet conscripts because to me these tests were a little rigged, with it being more favoured towards the Gi being dug in.
While mediocre in terms of overall damage output, there's only so many conscripts you can kill in the swarm...

when I play RA2 back then I always play as allied, mostly America just because of GI. they are OP if stack and put side by side together. 2 airborne units can destroy a whole AI base
