I like this guy. No crazy loud music and over reacting, just a normal "Joe" fishing experience. If you ever wanna try fishing In Sweden p.m. me, can five you a free place to stay and some shore fishing areas, no boat tho.
My husband and I love fishing! Up here in northern Alberta we have a lot of pike and pickerel. We find the pike really love the slap of casting a big Len Thompson 5 of diamonds. Good on ya for telling folks to pack out the garbage!
I will have to give pike fishing a go.got some nice pike in sale water park were I fish for carp and cat fish.the pike go over 20lb .great video mate .👍👍
Great tuition as usual I learn something every time you put out a video and as such I would thank you for your time and kind efforts helping us novices out👍👌🎥🥇
All i will suggest about the rigs is having an uptrace, for fool and pike proof piking. Like your presenting style Danny, concise ! Still practising mine on camera ha. Good to see sensible piking advice on TH-cam.
Excellent and informative vlog as usual Danny - the rigs explanation as well as the unhooking - share your thoughts re 'oils', but I saw you pour it on? - I normally inject - do you favour one or the other? Despite their fearsome look, Pike are incredibly fragile, so the information for some re unhooking is invaluable. Although mainly a lure angler (and I've had a good couple of weeks - 20 pike to 7lb+), I also like deadbaiting and can understand your anticipation if a deadbait rod with a mackerel goes off as you always think mackerel = big pike! - but it's not always the case. Many years ago (40+!), a guy who used to fish for Pike on the Regents Canal showed me a method I often use - very simple... Standard 2 treble trace (size 8) with 2 swan shot pinched on to the top of the trace below the swivel. He used to use a piece of dyed red cork (early baitflag?) on the bottom treble which was attached to the tail root (lower treble in the flank / head of the sprat) so it raised up off the bottom, head down. He would then cast out, let it sink - then move it half a reel turn every couple of minutes to make it move down and then rise again. I have replaced the cork with a slice of a red 'popper' which does the same job (can be a bit of a balancing job to get it as you want!) - it has caught me fish when everything else has failed, particularly when they are just laying on the bottom. Keep up the good work - tight lines mate.
Hi mate nice vid, had to dip out of the live chat tea was ready, we will have to hit the bank some time. And I don't know any spot round here could do with a couple of ideas. Tight lines
Nice one Danny, even thoe I don't fish anymore for the time being, I still like to watch the ppl I am subbed too, also enjoy your videos mate, I hope you have a great Pike and Predator season Pal :)
Another nice one Dan,very informative to someone like me. I only ever catch Pike by accident. Your rig looks dead simple, will give it a go .Maybe worth a go on the Severn in winter.Wot u think.
Nice vid Danny....tell you what changed my piking results last year was pooping the baits up. Had so many more pick ups, only just popped up with the tail sat on the lake bed but I feel it greatly improved my catch rate.
Hi Danny great video mate full of good info. I agree with you I only use pike pro in turbulant rivers or cloudy waters . I live in the ROI and the Irish are not the cleverest about coarse fishing , mainly Salmon and Trout these fucks. I don't know weather you have POLISH shops around where you are but I buy spratts and mackeral from there you get more for your money there also it's a good place to buy breadcrumb there it's a lot cheaper than a tackle shop. keep the vids coming mate. Oh I'm off pike fishing next Sunday myself and my son .
Great video, Love, winter piking but don't understand why such a heavy setup. I use 3lb rod 20lb line or 30lb braid max, only fishing for 20lb fish max
The setup isn't so much for the fish its to prevent leaving traces on bottom the venues fish are super snaggy. My piking does also include so.e meres that require a good chuck so like the beef in rod for that. But line is there purely due to being able bend hooks out n control all the fish in snaggy venues
Deffo for the ledger rod without a float where you wouod have bail arm open and a bite arm in place. I carry 2 simply as if I really want chill out I put them both on ledger and alarms and then no drama if nod
For piking mate any will do, spend what uour budget allows if you want high end csnt beat delkims if just want ones do job korum sell alarms for 10 quid each mate they all at end of day just beep when lunes goes through them
The sponsors are quite clearly shown at the start of the video as to what tackle is in them so I don't understand why these brands come as shock. Ultimately like all my videos they are there to help and have never changed the format of them even before sponsorship. Intro, tackle use, hints tips, in this one oil and unhooking a pike qnd simple.rigs, the fishing and a recap. If you watch a video pre sponsors there just the same format. You will also see comments we are quite a positive community on here of good lads who enjoy channel and fishing sorry.if you don't enjoy channel and tight lines in your fishing

Thanks Danny, loved the vid. Which fish do you buy at the supermarket and which do you buy from the fishing shops? 👍👍👍
Save a fortune of you buy your sardines from them. Mackerel and herring be bit hit miss as mainly are too large use
@@DannysAnglingBlog cheers Danny
Oreet Danny quick 1 mite sound daft how do u no were to set yer floar stop at on the line for floater in for pike pal... Cheers
So....a ledger rig does not use a float and the weight is on the bottom vs a float where the bait suspended ?
Is it not better to use an up trace on each rig?
Do the weights on pike float refer to how much weight to use and if so do you need to use less if suspending a bait underneath? Cheers
Dan do you recommend a bite alarm never used one before want to start throwing a deadbait out with them?
