So basically... Don't buy games on release. Wait a couple of years for them to finish the game, then buy it on sale. For todays gaming market that may be the best advice ever. Cheers:)
I just hate the start last catch the first. Qualify and grud start would be so much better or being able to select one or another on single player

Completely agree, I wish they added more varieties imo. I still enjoyed it, but the last to first format got stale.
@@GFG2gifted you realise that grid starts are broken in custom races due to the excessive ruber-banding specific to custom races.
The more I play GT7, the more I realise its true brilliance. There's a great sense of accomplishment in driving as many types of cars as possible, whereas other racers feel mostly like you'll be driving the same two or three cars over and over again. Whether you're collecting cars through the cafe menus, setting your best times in the Circuit Experience or License tests, joining others in online lobbies or Sport mode, or even creating art with Scapes and the livery editor, there are so many ways to have fun.
I dont know about that. I'm having a hard time liking GT7. It's like I'm a kid that has to be told what to do. The picture npc's are annoying. The overall game just dull. I loved GT1 to 5. But this one is meh at best. Why to restricted. I hate having to start from the literal beginning as if I've never played.
@@nando03012009 I suppose youre not really into cars then. The cafe cards up to the last touring car championship are just there to guide you as an introduction, the real game only starts afterwards.

@danhobart4009 lol what real game? After you finish the glorified tutorial that is the Cafe books there's basically zero content worth doing.
GT7 has the worst career mode in the series, even Sport after its updates feels more like a real GT than what 7 pretends to be.

I was late to the party and it looks like I missed a lot of the problems.
I bought the game in mid Jan 2023. I’ve logged in 78 days and acquired 56M credits. This is entirely from circuit experiences (32 tracks full gold) and lap time challenges (5 golds and 2 silvers).
Of course there are a LOT of things I’d like to change about gt7. Some small and some huge (better penalty system) but after watching this video I’m glad I waited so long to buy it.
GT6 had microtransactions .. they even sold GT6 Credits Cards in stores.
If they went back to GTS’s pay schedule of being able to buy cars for a few bucks each, I’d have a couple hundred quid into the game by now

I honestly thought everyone known this, but Gran Turismo 6 Micro-transactions were slightly pointless since no cars are locked behind DLC (Unless it’s the Anniversary edition or with pre-order bonuses) and also it wasn’t as hard to make money in there too.
@@nivozen Then again (not protecting PD here) if they did take the same micro transaction system from GT Sport, they would have to reset prices for 420+ cars instead of the 168+ cars in Sport (even if now there is 300 in GTS)
The truth is nobody except Kaz and employees of PD know what their planned development timeline is. I trust Kaz to make the best racing game possible, and so far, it's moving in the right direction. Even when the game was at its worst, I had no doubts it would come good. 25 years of franchise investment and development isn't going to go down the drain because of a few fixable issues.
I think with a few more major updates (classic GT tracks, and some exciting new cars for the Daily Races roster) GT7 will be viewed as one of the best racing packages around.
Is a much better game than the last forza, but sony botched up the launch of what is the best simcade gameplay wise

You summed it up when saying "It's all about the fun". I used to race online every day, but now have a VR2 headset am enjoying the cars - just going for a cruise in single player, be it challenges or whatever.
And, the VR showroom. Just wow.
Agreed psvr2 is a game changer. Sooooo many people are sleeping on this amazing piece of technology! Racing isn't the same without psvr2. I personally don't play any video games without psvr2. I even play mw2 with psvr2.(yes my kdr is positive).
I'm planning on getting psvr2 just for gt7 lmao

+They've added a few car, and really altered the physics to feel more real and fluid, as well as a boost to 120htz.
+ PSVR2 in combination with the next plus mark.
+The updated Rewards for Circuits Experience and the 700PP WTC LeMans race are more than enough to have a wallet capable of getting anything you need.
-Things still not really fulfilled:
--Roulette is still nonsense (LOTS of content literally held hostage by it, since it exists nowhere else in game)
--Very limited solo player races still.
--Occasional oddball things like losing special color interiors when making a livery. (see new NSX with Red interior)
I'd argue the recent update has made cars too understeery and Gr.3 and other aero packages don't feel right. As I accelerate through a corner I don't feel the aero pulling me through the corner, it pushes you out. This has changed how i take corners in some tracks
@@CodenameDuchess1984 I've gotten better wear and speeds since the update. On controller. My recommendation, listen to the tires + experiment with break pressure/trail braking ratio. It's like you can feel sidebite now, and to verify, you can change wheel diameter (not just width/track) and the PP is liable to change a bit. Drifitng has really brought it out for me in terms of what boxes it can check and which ones it still cannot.

Roulette has been fixed. Now we just need Mugello, Imola and sebring
I just hate that theres no lap runs for race position. It sucks to always start dead last and spend the whole race playing catch up.

1:15 GT6 had microtransactions as well. But due to how GT6 is designed, they were luckily pretty meaningless. Their existence is a stain, but the game itself luckily wasn't designed to push them at all.
Needs more improvement. Single player starting 30 seconds back in a single file system with no option to qualify is just every kind of rubbish. It makes the racing totally unsatisfying

Stockholm syndrome - those of us who were able to return the game after first buying it still have zero new incentive to touch it. But I can totally see myself warming up to it now if I was forced to be stuck with that purchase.
The biggest issue I have is the ridiculous lack of single-player races. Theres like 50 actual races and barely any of them in the higher powered racing car classes. AND NO custom race isnt a viable option as the AI for custom races is fundamentally broken (significantly more broken than the single-player). Rubber banding in custom races is so bad. Up to 40s per lap changes in AI speed around a 2-minute lap.
There is for sure way more potential in this, especially for single player. Even maybe other modes (if we think back to NFS Porsche with missions for example). - Rene
I started GT sport mode only about a month ago.. something for the penalty system and AI to improve and work together. Let players with a good sports rating have the ability to review penalties, crashes and determine who is at fault and apply re tro penalties and eventually banning players. This way, AI can learn that if a random car turns left into another car on a straight, they will probably be the cause of unwanted penalties. In a game you could map a point in a race for peer review. But overall I love th3 whole GT7 experience. Feels like old school GT and better for it .
The only issues i see are minor but. Id like to be able to remove the in game wheel graphics. If you play with a wheel its redundant to have it on screen also. The other thing id like to see is the race information should be more customizable on screen. oh and the prize tickets are always bad, you have to wait a minute before clicking yes to get a better prize. seems like there is no real RNG
You weren't wrong. Gt7 still needs a complete overhaul. So many cars and no incentive to race them as the pp is tedious finding yourself grinding the same events along with custom races having almost zero payout.
But that could be said about any racer to an even more extreme. The entire time I played fh4 I used the same car outside of any races that required something specific. I never once felt the need or urge to use a different car. Same with recent NFS games. On gt7 I use a shit ton of variety when racing.

It's better that there's many cars. There's not enough cars. One of the main things of Grand Turismo is to buy and collect cars. Modify them and drive them.

After update 1.32 some tracks are almost unplayable if you're playing on a controller, the cars spaz out when you come out of certain corners and if go into the controller and assist settings none of the changes you make improve the situation. It leaves the player with no choice but to use a wheel in order to play the game.

Where you wrong though? If it takes a year after the games release for it to come good then surely that should not be praised. Otherwise it will keep happening as it has with so many other games. i'd much rather have waited the year and had a great experience from the start than what the game has been previous to now. It's actually at the point i'll refuse to play as it left such a sour taste in the mouth. GT4 on PCSX2 is a better game than what GT7 is currently which i think speaks volumes.

They need too kick someone from the game asap. If they are driving dirty. An every time they do it kick them an make them have too jump back in. Eventually they will get tired of getting kicked. They will take the time too drive correctly. I drive right they don't. They win. That don't sound fair.

The biggest thing missing for me is dashcam view. It works best for simrigs connected to console.

Too arcade-like. You wouldn't drive like that irl? I never understood why people like birds eye view or bumper view. It's completely unnatural to race in that manner. I for one race strictly in driver view.
@@GFG2gifted The bumper and hood view makes it easier to corner and see in competitive races, challenges, or licenses. Plus it looks slightly more faster than the Chase camera too.
@@GFG2gifted bumper view is best in GT7 because it puts you at a pretty good eye level and you treat your cockpit like the car and the screen is your windshield. Bonnet is too high on most cars and I hate having my wheel and virtual wheel in gt with no fov options

The fact both of you outline "cornering is easier" is a counterpoint for yourselves as if you need the game to be "easier" then you don't need to be driving in general.
A racing game that doesnt feature new modern cars, only the old models from at least 7 years ago. where are the recent M cars lineup. And u supposed to be the best in the game.
I played my first ever time GT7 on my PS4 today, and i say, i was totally impressed with this game.
The fan notes on Metacritic are an total lie, this game is actually good, thought obviously not the best in the series, but still a very decent title in the series honestly (and better than GT Sport, tbh)
My major issues with the game:
- money situation is worse. They almost halved the credit rewards of the most used races used to grind.
- most 'cool' cars can only be used in custom races with terrible rewards. So you actually need to grind with very specific cars, instead of the cool ones you actually want to drive
I'll save people some time GT7 still has the same price/time gouging in order to unlock all the cars which was the whole point of the previous games.
My only gripe with GT7 in its current state is the insane quantities of lag in public lobbies. As someone who races in leagues, it makes wheel-to-wheel racing much more annoying and borderline terrifying, since you have to guesstimate where the other car will be a lot of the time.
I think lag in general is a problem caused from players
I just wish Sony would release it on PC, because like myself, people are not buying a ps5 console for 1 simulator. The sales for the game would skyrocket if released on PC, and the player base would be larger too.
It’s available for the PlayStation 4 as well, the sales are still doing well too cause it sold around 6 or 7,000,000 copies right now.
More cheaters and broken illegal mods. GT is just fine on Ps5 by itself. Helps to sell Hardware and can do just fine on ps5. Most PC players pirate their games.
Lmao not really. If you’re on PC you’d be driving the plethora of other simulators that do as much and more than GT7 (not even factoring the whole simcade debate)

Haven't yet tried the psvr2 but yeah - sophie ai is the best ai experience I've ever had in any racing game so far.
It was like racing against a and a+ drivers - not once the ai acted clueless. Wish they add it permanently.
GT6 and GT Sport had microtransactions, not a 1st in the series
They difference is they did the micro-transactions slightly better like making it optional to buy the cars for cheaper in GT Sport (Howver Gran Turismo 6’s was pointless with the Redbull X2014 races)
“The day of light” is such an interesting concept, but not as easily understood as the light of day. At least you pronounced Polyphony correctly, which is not usually the case with the majority of TH-camrs 😊
There is still a lot for them to work on in terms of in-game mechanics/bugs. For example, each time you go into Sport mode, the racing etiquette video auto-plays itself and you have to quickly press circle, and it's incredibly annoying. Or the fact that whenever you finish and retry a Circuit Experience challenge, the end-of-round music continues to play into the new round. Or the fact that you can't change the car camera angles while in the pitlane. Or when in multi-player mode, when getting out of the pitlane you have to exit the track to the lobby menu and re-enter the track to pit out. This game is too bugged for it going on a year.
Hi, I found that too but once I let it play the video in it’s entirety and finish then it didn’t come up again. I think its PD’s way of trying to ensure everyone watches the rules!

Gt sports online mode was SO good. Minimal lag was a huge deal. Imagine my disappointment when I have a better system now, the ps5, with gt7, and better internet, and the online play was terrible. So glitchy, laggy, and not pretty. Finally got on again yesterday, decided to try it one more time. I couldn’t believe how much better the online gameplay was in the lobby’s.
You wasn't wrong the game still bug and done with a HORRIBLE rng to get stuff from the roulettes tickets, you gotta be the most average player to not notice the really important stuff and details
i bought this game on release and I didn't experience any of these things you mentioned. Force feedback worked from the start on my G29
There is absolutely no change to the ridiculously low pay outs for the single player with still the same 3 tracks to grind for a slightly justified amount! The online play is still full of dirty drivers with no report option for such driving plus we get the same tracks over and over and can’t even remember the last time they had a race that I was able to use soft tyres on 🤦🏼♂️
Not every online race has dirty drivers though. This week at Suzuka I've been having some great races - I think it's a bit of pot luck really. Typically though I've found as my ratings go up the quality of drivers increases. I do think the penalty system needs more work though, but when the online racing is good, it's really good.
I'm still critical of the game in many ways because the grinding is still ridiculous. You still have the same three events to grand cash with that are repetitive and boring. Why don't they just make a dollar per hour figure so whatever you drive you get paid for every are you spend on the game? This would be much more fun S and we can just go and drive and do whatever tracks and races. We want knowing that we will get a decent payout after an hourI think just having three tracks that reward you to make the 825k ... Essentially, Gran Turismo is a car collection game and we love collecting all the different cars and using them but often I find as a legendary car that you save up for and then there is no race to race that car in. Why don't they have a legendary car section, where, when you buy the legendary car you get invited to a race, and it is exclusive only if you are in the car so this gives you an incentive to them by the legendary car. The legendary cars are like toys basically that you would put on your mantelpiece you buy them and then you don't drive them because there's no point there is nowhere to race them. There might be individual lobbies but I'm not interested in that and they are slow tedious and do not work very well. The game should've been built around the legendary cars not the general c. Yes I still play the game. Occasionally I log on and have a play but I'm not playing it consistently like I was.
I bought GT7 yesterday to try it for the first time. My plan was to play for one hour and I ended up playing until 1am😂😂😂. That game is addictive. I love those graphics and all those cars. It’s definitely a game for me.

Since gt7 release and finish the game, i watching everyone experience, thought etc about the game. the more i know, the more i lose my love to this game. but i forgot, before i bought this game i said to my self idc if this game so hard to gain money, race, i knew i can beat this game and collecting cars i like. I also doing tuning cars, drift, drag. not forget, the sport mode also i play but stuck in B S rank 😅
Love the game but I wish they could fix the 65 gt350 the suspension doesn’t allow the wheels to turn if your on that shirt oval track the car goes into the wall even a at lower speeds
Wait till you see the new updates. The economy probably drastically improved and you can race against sophy 2.0

To have to rely on updates and servers, to keep a product that you already purchased, in functional condition, is outrageous! They better patch that AI and make arcade races more customisable on GT5 and 6 before they fix this game! And ...as a full paying customer, I would like to actually own a copy of GT7 rather than have to go online to play a product that is only available at their discretion!
It would be nice if they added T500 support to the PS5 version.
GT8 will be the one youre all expecting! Maybe....... Well GT7 with the returning content of GT4 5 6!..... Then a league system, i assume Sony and PD are working on something altogether bigger and grander with their "Tournaments" thing
The legendary mixed surface rally tracks and rally cars definitely need to come back, i love GTs original tracks

We were all dreaming about GT7 being the return of GT4!!! This was hinted at by the world map...... but obviously cars and tracks take abit of time.....
Annnnnd GT7 is still cross gen! I was expecting double the car grid count being no problem as well for GT7 i thnik PD are still holding all these features back because crossgen and the need to test and stress test stability etc with PSVR2 in mind...... so now that PSVR 2 is out and 120hz is out, theyre monitoring stability and performance and also Sophy is to be factored into all of this later which is why i think certain big features are held back
They PD can now extrapolate how much more processing power they can play with with PSVR2 a full grid of 20 all running at 60 - 120 with RT and Sophy...... now they can probably slowly adjust or incremently increase grid car count to push the PS5!
I think a stable and smooth consistent play environment is key to PD and Sonys vision of "Tournaments" and the ability to televise and spectate and take part at the push of a button etc
Also don't forget the disappearance of the 32 Ford Roadster as well.
Back then I thought Gran Turismo 7 was gonna be the perfect GT game, returning and classic content, a good car list, good graphics and gameplay, no vacuum cleaners, after watching the IGN review and giving it a 9/10 score I had my hopes up, but then my hopes went down a week later where the Google user rating went from %90 to %75 (yet I still got the game a month later lol). People should re-write the review on the game since the game changed.

You definitely were not wrong about GT7 on release. I walked away after a month of disappointing play. I recently returned after hearing about some of the changes. I have to say they have come a long way from the release, but I think they still have a long way to go to make it what we were expecting upon release. Good video and very good perspective!

holy crap! I bought the 25th anniversary edition for $80 us dollars at release and my boy just bought digital for like $40. Had no idea the prices were so steep where yall are at.

Yeah y'all $40 (digital) equals out to about our $60.
I brought it at the same time I brought GT Sport which was $40, cos GT7 motion control wasn't working for PS4 controllers at the time - cos I couldn't get it working. The sticks worked, but not motion control (sixaxis). Tried everything, resetting controller changing controllers etc. Yet it worked on GTS fine. But then after the update it started working for some reason...
I'm still using the old PSVR on last gen, cos my tiny monitor is across the room so it brings the tracks closer. Not the same immersive experience as VR2 and graphics are grainy, but it works. I tried turning resolution down/up on PS settings, but I think the resolution is set to the goggles itself.

My nephew is PS5 and I'm using his last gen, so maybe that means something for the price, idk. Prob does I'm guessing (?).
I can't remember if it was a sale, I just thought it was a bargain, but kicked myself immediately after cos I had to (re)buy GTS again instead. I brought it once before about 4yrs ago, just for the motion control steering, but neph ended up deleting it. That's why I was stoked when he gave me his old console, cos I could buy GT7 now for the motion control. Cos nephew doesn't play racing - only pretends to think he can play F1 (on the stick 😨). *IF* Codies or EA add motion control I'd play again, cos the wheel I have isn't good enough for F1 (pxn900) and I don't really like listening to paddle shift clicks every half a second anyway. Plus the online lobbies are redundant and crap, especially for last gen... and you can't even change season layout, no old tracks/cars. Got boring for me fast. If it at least had motion control I'd smash all the time though. Cos the paddle clicks get to me after a while - and I'm sure the rest of the house too. "Cli-click, cli-click" 🤣
the dirty drivers and PDs unwillingness to take action against dirty drivers is an absolute deal breaker for me...........
Gran turismo feels generic because it's what they're going for now and it's sad because this series had some good ideas they trashed to fit more into the sim genre.
Remember LM editions? Ya know PDs own takes on a racing version of a specific car, yeah whatever happened to those? Winning a prize after every race? Gran turismo 5 got rid of that and since then they have no replayability. Original custom tracks that were actually fun to drive on? Thrown out in favor of real world circuits, i don't care about bathurst, silverstone or spa. Where is seattle circuit, complex string and tahiti road/maze/dirt route?
Why does online races only with 15 cars?!

Didn't really do it for me. If I want a challenge I'll go online otherwise I'm tryna get Credits. No need for Superhuman AI for normal grinding. Maybe make a championship series with it.

For me, the only real big issue I have is All the dirty drivers that get to do whatever they want and ruin everybody races. I have anger issues which is yes on me. The problem there is Once somebody starts bullying me, I fight back and only screw myself😒 I just wish they weren't allowed to race and band from sport mode, thanks for letting me vent!🙃
Maybe you are part of the problem. Maybe a simple accident sends you over the edge and now you ruin Your race and someone else's because of an accident. Always review the replay first and take names if you really feel slighted.
Unfortunately, roulette are still the same garbage, and lobbies are still and impossible laggy mess that still for some reason has no option to keep the lobby after the host leaves
The bad outweighs the good. This game has so many problems. The ai. The penalties. The roulette system. The 20 million cars that you cant use. The catch up races. The split screen is still broke! I wont be buying number 8 thats for sure
Years later and they cant fix split screen and sadly i don't see it getting fixed because they are pushing online gameplay alot they shove it down our throats but basically is what most players play online so split screen and local play is going out thus lowering the cost to manufacture and the charging even more plus a monthly subscription what is happening to games in general that's why i went to a pc and never looked back not even once

@@scottd7222 pc has free internet online gameplay, all my friends moved to pc , i play my favorite games with mods so i get extra entertainment out of my game, no pc dosent have split screen but has a s**t ton more features and things i can do if that answers your question about why i moved to pc and never look back i get it i have a ps5 and a xbox but i dont use them they are stacking dust only game i play on ps5 is gt 7 and Fortnite and indies

It is class trying to beat your best time the grip change and handling difference between cars and how unimpressed you get with hooligan online racers

The new races they keep adding are getting less and less payouts with ai opponents that are so far ahead you have to spend thousands and thousands of credits just to have a chance.
The put a 2 lap nurburgring race that only pays out 25k. Are you kidding me? You have to quit and restart the race with the guila at the back of the pack in order to have a chance, and thats driving the guila myself.
The new fisherman's race is only 1 lap, its taken me all day just to finish 3rd.
This game is seriously trash, ill never buy another AAA sony game, and ill probably never buy another Sony console either.

Dude. I just bought a nice used ps4 and gt7 after a 10yr no gaming run. I'm soo disappointed to learn I bought a demo only. No offline career mode...Sony and poly screwed everyone that doesn't want to play online...
@@facetious_1 bro i feel your pain dont know about you but maybe im to old for this new gaming industry it just isnt what i grew up with, it just the industry is not made for the players no more, i believe that they can deliver an ultimate game, gt4 base with some tweeks with local coop editable( with 20 cars, car grid selection...)and net multiplayer with 20 cars ditch the offline mode return the track editor, 1000+ CARS with all that i believe you have a gt game beast.
Even forza is going with the constant online connection its a shame for me is still ACC, F12020

Yeah. Oh kay, if you're not familiar with Kaz's and PD's history of duping their consumers. I'll give you a pass based on that ignorance. I, however, and many others are more familiar with their antics.
First things first. IMHO GTs 2 and 6 were the most satisfying to play. Those iterations had the number of cars and tracks to keep us interested for years into the future if they ever had the cajones to support the games. Today, too many of our favorite original and real circuits are missing. The same can be said about the many cars from earlier releases that never returned.
Second. After all the visual and sound improvements in 7. It still lacks the variety to keep us interested. Do you even know what 10% of minuscule amounts to? Seven was released with about 200 cars. Which is miniscule to the thousand plus cars in 7. Two hundred plus 10% comes out to less than 300. That's less than 33% of 6's count. Also, who in their right mind would be ok with not having dynamic weather and time after spending years playing under these conditions... at most tracks.
Lastly but not lastly. The innovations, us veterans of the series continue waiting for, are parts of cars like mirrors and bumpers to break off. And engulfing fires to follow catastrophic incidents... intentionally or not. I for one love to watch the CGI driver trying to climb out these wrecks while the rest of the field follows a safety car past the spectacal. And what ever happened to drag racing? How hard can this possibly be?
In the end, seven is nothing more than a jip. And Kaz and PD know that every year there's a fresh, new and desperate group of youngsters yearning to be entertained.
OMT. After being called out for intentionally under paying winning performances they made the cars less available. I love collecting cars.
GT7 has been kicking ass all the way up until they just screwed up the driving physics. Who wants understeering cars?
Just increase your cars natural frequency and roll cage
I believe this game is great, I've always enjoyed it.
Many of the issues people complained about in the original titles (GT1-6) were done away with.
They sacrificed quantity for quality.
The sounds, models, physics, etc. are all better.
The payouts could be improved for sure, but they've given away lots of money, and also provided some good time trials and special events to address that.
We also have the ability to make CUSTOM RACES, therefore the need for added races is nearly diminished. The only drawback is the payouts for custom races being lower than some of the premade races.
Overall I love this game and it really allows you to do more than any other Gran Turismo that came before it.
They can only add more content and freedom with time.

GT7 is still disappointing, due to the lack of Lexus, BMW E60, Mitsubishi Evo IX, Honda/Acura DC5, Subarus, Indianapolis, Motegi, Silverstone, etc. And also the ABC Kei Car Trio is still inactive due to one of the members is still gone.
Although I think the car and track list is good they still need to re-add Silverstone back and looking at the leaks for the upcoming cars they’re gonna add it looks pretty good, but I still want the 2003 Xanavi Nismo GT-R
I'm glad PD haven't wasted any time on this terrible suggestion.
I wont play GT7 because Sony insist security chip is in a wheelbase not just the rim. They've always been money-grubbers with stuff like this so its a no from me. If you do buy a base with PS5 compatibility there's every chance they will pull the plug when the next gen comes out. Yes I know that's a while but I plan on keeping my wheelbase for some years - it does everything I could ever want in a wheelbase. I might play next Forza though as that would 'only' require a new rim which could be used for other things too.
I have the same problem with it. I hope it comes to PC like all the other ps5 exclusives. Maybe next year or so.

@@manfredweigele2369 I've a VR2, like you. I've fallen back in love with simracing after becoming slightly dejected. Driving in VR is just out of this world.
I'm sure VR in PC is awesome too. I have a PC but just can't afford to splurge on another headset and upgrades to make it powerful enough to get the most out of it and future-proof it. I'm not anti-PC, amazing headsets out there.

I like the VR in gt7, but after the initial wow factor wears off it just feels to slow. Even in a really fast car at top speed it feels far to slow.
