A few days ago I started watching your Lord of the Arena videos. They've been helping me quite a bit with the do's & do-nots of arena deck construction and in-game decisions. Fantastic series, thanks a lot!
Well you could have killed the flesh ghoul in 2 turns easy. But you were so scared of it getting buffed up to 6dmg, that you opted to take 3 turns worth of dmg to your hero instead :S
Major necropost here but it also really annoyed me the fact he kept calling 4 mana cost cards "Late game". At this point he favors face damage and 1 cost cards way too much. He took a Wisp over a Truesilver or something because it was a 4 mana cost card and therefore "Too much lategame" in his mind.
Hey here's an idea. Let's pick the same class we did terribly with last run because of a lack of board clear and then skip taking consecrate 3 FUCKING TIMES!
That's one of the less obvious mechanics of a Mage though, it would be pretty silly if you could do it across the board, Enrage decks would become far too potent.
In the 2014 dotpw you have a mode called "sealed deck" in which you open random booster packs at the beginning and you build a deck based on that card pool. You can unlock 3(?) more booster packs by doing the sealed deck campaign, and you can compete against other sealed decks online. That's what comes this mode the nearest I think.
"Secret: As soon as your hero is attacked, gain 8 Armor." "It is worth clarifying the vague text for this spell. "Attack" specifically means a minion's attack and this will not trigger from Area of Effect spells like Consecration or direct damage spells like Shadow Bolt." It is called Ice Barrier BTW
Best thing i love about you is if you say something is really bad when it is amazing and you did not know the next episode you just get better and better and better!
I just wanted to say that I've been a sub for a while to your channel, but seeing you and hearing you cast at blizzcon was really cool, You bring a very exciting and deep edge to the gameplay and strategy. It was cool to put a face with a voice and you pretty much carried the cast which was great! Keep it up, i'm still waiting for my beta, god only knows how long lol.. Keep up the great work and thank you :)
This is one of the most hilarious hearthstone videos I've seen thus far! It sure would have been no.1 hilarious hearthstone video if not for Husky's 1 billion HP panda video!! Haha! I guess TB is also the comical Brit!! (Florence went home to see his family..... that was truly touching)
Probably about the same time it's released in the US. there's no release date for either yet, other than sometime this year. However the EU beta just started a few days ago.
Florence has prevailed through thick and thin. No longer a green recruit, but a veteran of great renown, well loved by the people of Stormwind for the great service he has done for the Alliance.
The priest is Anduin Wrynn, he's the prince of stormwind and Varian's son. he didn't get any real spotlight till cata, and I quit playing then so I've got no idea if he's done anything important at all
If you mean digital games, Magic 2014 is your first obvious answer. You also could try the Kingdoms CCG, Might & Magic Duel of Champions, SolForge, or Infinity Wars, all of which are playable right now. For slight deviations there's Spectromancer on Steam now and Card Hunter coming out in a week (deck building + tactical gameplay). The big competitor for this game will probably be Hex, which should be out roughly at the same time, but the backer alpha is starting at the end of the month.
someone that knows card games better than i do, would it make sense to use your hero ability as often as possible (unless you're warlock) to get advantage of using mana but at the same time saving cards to lay down more at a time when you have the mana (with some exceptions of course)?
Yes, you can play with your friends directly. Right now TB is playing Arena, which requires you to spend gold to enter the drafting session (and you leave at 3 losses or 9 wins). But outside of that, you can play randomly or by going against a specific player. TB and other "youtubers" who play Heartstone have done so. You can look through TB's channel or, say, Jesse's, Wowcrendor's or Husky's. There are more, but those are the ones I watch :p
During that mage fight, 30mins in, isnt it better to attack to trigger a secret before putting more cards on the board? Like how TB was worrying about a Vaporize appearing on the board.
The legacy of Florence. He was summoned along side a young dragonhawk and an argent protecter. the dragonhawk fell but the gurubashi beserker arrived. The stormwind champion joined him and he felt powerful. the defender of argus trained him in the way of taunt. after slaying a starving buzzard he was named by his king, Florence. The greatest recruit to ever reinforce a board.
Tb Love the hearthstone videos been keeping me sane the last few days come home from work eat my dinner and watch your videos Doubt you will see this but just want you to know you Jesse and dodger keep me entertained every day :)
i understand not showing short footage if you just loose, but if you get a decent run like 6-9 wins would be great to see the whole set of games :) just my opinion! loving it all!
whan u take fatal dmg on ur hero, it activates making u imune to the dmg on that turn(if u have 4 hp and a 4dmg or more minion attacks or a spell hit u it activates)
"Card draw city, population: ME"... I lost it there xD TB, you are THE GOD of freaking entertainment. I shall build a shrine in your name and let you bask in glory!
TB: vs that warlock, you should have just thrown out your taunt immediately. He would have killed your taunt but he 'd have been down to 2 HP and no dmg on your hero and then keep on throwing creaturesat him instead of letting him fill the board with minions esp since u had like only 2 taunts in your deck (and one indirect taunt).
Can you attack your own minions with a weapon out? If so, I'd be using the 1 damage weapon to trigger the berserker and the acolyte of pain. Always wondered why TB didn't at least try that.
What you could have done in game 2, use the 2nd hit from the dragonhawk to kill the imp. It's a matter of initiative. Sure, you get less damage than if you 'force' your opponent to do the trade, but if your opponent uses something else to kill it, it gives the imp time to beatdown and/or trade with another minion.

I did not believe that you would make it to the end with that mana curve, but I guess I was wrong. Well played.
Great series, I'm really enjoying it. In the game vs the warlock, I think you would have been better off if you kept playing cards. You still force him to kill off whatever you play in order to get the buff, wearing down the ghoul's health while you're not getting hit by his extra damage anyway. Better to take bad trades then to leave yourself wide open for turns. I can understand being hesitant to play on turn 3, but if you played on turn 4 at least the panther would have been dead and not hitting you for 4 every turn. Sure the ghoul is a bit stronger, but you're still reducing his board control and saving 2 health per turn.
Question; have you ever seen Firefly? If so, have you ever seen Friends or BBT? Firefly may not be famous, but it is a work of art. It is on a much higher level than almost any show today. It's deep, well written, humorous, dark when it needs to be, and adventurous. It is the Macbeth of the twenty first century.
20:10 Not saying you did anything wrong, but you could have summoned a squire, use Defender of Argus to put taunt on all 4, use the coin and then summon the Cult Master, next turn summon Stormwind Champion :D Basically card draw metropolis if he attacks OR tons of free damage each turn if he doesn't :)
29:00 You should have played for board control instead of health advantage. Health is a resource you need to use in order to gain other advantages(card advantage/tempo/board presence). In this game 1 hp=30 hp
well looking back at it I think eating the hit from the ghoul was ok the first time, the problem is you let it snowball out of control since the dude was summoning 4 damage critters and you didn't summon any minions. Sure the ghoul gets 1 attack but then again it's just 1 attack, your objective was to live until turn 6 when the tiger can come out and kill the ghoul so the thing is every +1 attack the ghoul gets is 4 (or more) damage you avoid.
In game 2, not chipping at the ghoul was a misplay. If you summoned minions instead of passing your turn, he would either have to deal with them, losing health on his ghoul and not hitting you, or ignore them and have it it die anyways. Worst case scenario is he ignores your minions and keeps swinging at you. But you took those hits anyways, and didn't have the things on the field to show for it.
The thing with the ghoul in the second game: you should've played more minions, because while the ghoul grows, it's only in attack, and not in health. So you had to give him the choice of either throwing his other minions at yours killing both and growing his ghoul or keep letting you grow your board. He probably would have traded his minions, so by the time you drew that Truesilver, his board would be minimal. But considering he had a Shadowbolt, the chances of winning were pretty much zero.
Against the Mage, Dzerty, couldn't Mr. Biscuit hit his own 'Guru'bashi' in order to bring it up to a 8/3, and then clean up? He had enough damage on the board. Though, when backseat gaming, it's easy to spot how things could be done differently.
A few days ago I started watching your Lord of the Arena videos. They've been helping me quite a bit with the do's & do-nots of arena deck construction and in-game decisions. Fantastic series, thanks a lot!
Florence goes home, gets knighted. Blizzard sees this Video, makes the card Sir Florence, Champion of Biscuits.
"Card-Draw city, population me." Best one liner ever.
Yeah Florence!!! Goin' home to see your wife and kids, so great
Ah florence, a brave and true protector of light
2022 man never forgotten always missed
lol there should be a taunt specifically of TotalBiscuit saying "WHAT WAS THAT?"
Anybody rewatching these in 2020
Definitely
I think he overestimated the flesh eater.
He should have thrown the taunt and then tried to take it out.
And thus began th epic tale of florence, the recruit who became a hero.
This video is why you fricking take consecrate.
I love this series, this episode had me giggling all the way through.
Well you could have killed the flesh ghoul in 2 turns easy. But you were so scared of it getting buffed up to 6dmg, that you opted to take 3 turns worth of dmg to your hero instead :S
Seeing TB pass 3 consecrations for young dragonhawk, blessing of might and gurubashi beserker made me flip every table in my house.
Let's pick the same class we did terribly with last run because of a lack of board clear and then skip taking consecrate 3 FUCKING TIMES!
i mean he got the full 9 wins so it seems he made the right choice
@@lavenderwalrus9875 9 wins vs opponents of this caliber though, lmao did you see the priest? I dont think I've ever seen someone play as bad as that
That's one of the less obvious mechanics of a Mage though, it would be pretty silly if you could do it across the board, Enrage decks would become far too potent.
Florence shall go down in HearthStone history as a hero. GGWP Florence.
Your name shall be, "Florence". That was funny as hell. Keep up the good work.
Chance for 3 concecration...didnt take any of them :'(
The Priest in Hearthstone is Prince Anduin Wrynn, the little blond kid from Vanilla WoW who grew up to be a priest somewhere in Cataclysm or Mists.
Yup, I never concede. If my opponent wants to BM, he earned it. I'm not some sore coward.
I'm so proud of Florence, he did a great job!
Absolutely love these videos, keep 'em coming!
That priest game... lol
Loving these TB and loving Hearthstone. Working my way through all of the classes now deciding which to focus on.
if you don't like your cards you drew for arena can you just back out and reroll?
Yes, but you'd have to respend the 150 gold. So, it's not really worth it.
That priest battle was hilarious. Your reactions were just so silly
What on earth was in the mages hand?
In the 2014 dotpw you have a mode called "sealed deck" in which you open random booster packs at the beginning and you build a deck based on that card pool. FLORENCE LIVES!!!
TB, I just wanted to say I really enjoy watching these Hearthstone and I hope you keep doing these.
"We're not gonna swing with it because we're not the crazy lesbian priest."
It isn't really so much that I love the game, it's that your voice is relaxing to listen to while working...
TheRev112 was so terrible. I can't believe he got invited to Hearthstone and I haven't ;)
"Secret: As soon as your hero is attacked, gain 8 Armor."
"It is worth clarifying the vague text for this spell. "Attack" specifically means a minion's attack and this will not trigger from Area of Effect spells like Consecration or direct damage spells like Shadow Bolt."
It is called Ice Barrier BTW
YOU CAN SILENCE FREEZE GOD DAMN IT TB >.
I just realized your Hearthstone Episodes had me watching for 6 hours now. Well that makes 30 minutes for breakfast before I have to go to work. Nice
The lesbian priest was screaming "ALL MIGHTY UTERUS!" when she was banging away at him with his copied sword.
Ice block triggers when fatal damage is taken, it makes the mage immune for one turn. It's not very good imho.
Florence OP #florence4lyf
Best thing i love about you is if you say something is really bad when it is amazing and you did not know the next episode you just get better and better and better!

Totalbiscuit idk why but I get an eerily large amount of deja vu when I watch your videos.
This is one of the most hilarious hearthstone videos I've seen thus far! It sure would have been no.1 hilarious hearthstone video if not for Husky's 1 billion HP panda video!!

I think the fact Ice-Block psyched you out so much makes Secrets hilariously amazing.
The priest is Anduin Wrynn, he's the prince of stormwind and Varian's son. he didn't get any real spotlight till cata, and I quit playing then so I've got no idea if he's done anything important at all
Thanks for the hearthstone vids TB, always good to see more arena play.

That was surprisingly pleasant and awesome, I'd love to see more
That fight against the Priest might have been my favourite game of Hearthstone I've seen.
i like watching this because your explaining the way you are choosing your cards, i like listening to strategy
Nice to see the a pally deck in action. Still haven't seen much of Rogue yet...
someone that knows card games better than i do, would it make sense to use your hero ability as often as possible (unless you're warlock) to get advantage of using mana but at the same time saving cards to lay down more at a time when you have the mana (with some exceptions of course)?
TB has made me addicted to hearthstone and i don't even have a key yet. This is a wonderful start to an addiction.
The part, where this priest started to take the swings with Sword of Justice and TB's reaction to that. Totally made my day! :D
I hate the fact that I'm addicted to this game already without having played it for even one second... ;) Thank you for my regular dosis! ;)
Yes, you can play with your friends directly. Right now TB is playing Arena, which requires you to spend gold to enter the drafting session (and you leave at 3 losses or 9 wins). at 49:07 "you know what would be really nice? blessing of wisdom on that guy..." you still can't target it with spells XD
During that mage fight, 30mins in, isnt it better to attack to trigger a secret before putting more cards on the board? Like how TB was worrying about a Vaporize appearing on the board.
Florence is the man!
This is probably the best lord of the Arena video so far, very few derp moments.
Really enjoying these! Keep them coming!
"RNG" Random Number Generator, common terminology that means it's unpredictable and reliant on chance.
The legacy of Florence. He was summoned along side a young dragonhawk and an argent protecter. the dragonhawk fell but the gurubashi beserker arrived. I lost it there xD
TB, you are THE GOD of freaking entertainment. I shall build a shrine in your name and let you bask in glory!
You can silence a freeze if i remember correctly, silence gets rid of all effects good or bad think of it as a dispel all
we've got enough weapons, don't need anymore........" lol love the pause of temptation there
i love watching you play this game, its hilarious. keep going
You can get rid of freeze with silence, right? I saw your opponent do it before in an earlier video.
I have no idea how this game works but TB's commentary makes this plenty entertaining.
30:42 "You can't just sit there and be afraid of everything that's gonna be thrown at you"
WORDS OF WISDOM
21:00 I just cracked open an egg, and a chicken came out when he said "buutt!"
Hillarious.
Florence, for your services to the Alliance in its time of need, you shall be remembered as the new Champion of Stormwind.
BY FAR THE FUNNEST EPISODE OF HEARTHSTONE
Can you attack your own minions with a weapon out? If so, I'd be using the 1 damage weapon to trigger the berserker and the acolyte of pain. Always wondered why TB didn't at least try that.
another question what if the mage has vaporise and you attack them with your hero?

Oh God this was the best episode yet, so many "What the hell are you doing?" moments from the opponents XD

Funny priest battle, mysterious mage battle. Awesome video.
Anyone else notice than in the description of card effects that random letters are missing like "Ta nt"
29:00 You should have played for board control instead of health advantage. Health is a resource you need to use in order to gain other advantages(card advantage/tempo/board presence). In this game 1 hp=30 hp

Really enjoying your Hearthstone videos
my butt is clenched so hard right now from watching you and Jesse play TCGs

Like the episode idea, it gets rid of spoilers and we get to see the runs end.
I think these vids are really good as you can tell your enjoying it :D
these are so good, thank you for making them
Go Florence! A happy recruit going to see his family again, after so many ones died to fireballs and such. He's a hero!
This game looks very interesting and fun. Has TB looked at Solforge?
