I'll be honest, the increase in corona cases and gloomy weather has been keeping me down. I've been at home most of the days, but spring is finally here in #Seoul so I had to go out and explore again.
In this episode of #JOANDAY, you'll notice that Seoul is looking very empty. I've never seen in it like this. We're all trying to stay positive during this rough time🙏

It’s really weird seeing how empty everywhere is. Be safe Joan, but also don’t over stress about it!! The biggest way to prevent getting it is to always properly wash your hands!

I know right the flu even has a higher death rate than corona
The flu has a kill rate of 0.01% the corona has a kill rate of 3.4% and it hasn’t even mutated yet. Don’t spread misinformation look at the WHO and why this is NOT like the flu.
MTBB that’s soo wrong the flu death rate is 0.1-0.2%and COVID-19 is 2-4%. Corona virus is even deadlier and contagious. On top pandemics that kill a lot of people like Spanish flu that killed 33M people between 1900-1918 and is estimated that it killed even more people than WW1 and WW2 combined.
Mta 305 the Spanish flu was a insanely deathly strain they don’t even know why it had such a high spread and death rate...anyways point is no ones overreacting coronavirus is extremely serious that’s why everyone’s quarantined.

I live in Shanghai and it's really horrible. It's literally empty. Experiencing 14 days quarantine isn't nice, glad you are able to go out! Been doing online classes daily:) Being glued to the computer is so tiring!! Stay safe everyone!

We have gone thru' that first week in Singapore and it's like a ghost town in all crowded area especially shopping centre. Don't panic and freak out. Just do basic hygiene and mask and everything will be alright. Fighting!!! **From random passerby **
the mask wont even prevent u from getting it. only if your sick. but washing hands etc is best
Some tips which I read from the health care instituted:
• Practise good personal hygiene, washing hands frequently with soap
• See a doctor if sick and stay home. Only return to school or work when fully recovered.
• Drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.
• Ensure proper ventilation of room/ apartment.
• Try to refrain from touching your face when you outside (hand holding railing in the train, bus etc.)

At least you're staying home. I know a public school teacher who has been running all over Seoul with her extra time off. I'm being forced to go to a hagwon and teach through Skype in an infected building...the bright side though, is I'm getting paid...many hagwon people aren't being paid for weeks.

I planned to go to Seoul only in May, but obviously, I have to be updated on what's been going and I'm thankful for the transparency that many people have been who are currently in Seoul and how the situation has affected everyone. Yeah everything seems so empty lately. I haven't left my house in a week and finally stepped out today for work. I've been taking this time home to workout more, cook more homemade food, film videos, and take care of my skin. I realized wearing a mask has been breaking me out. Sigh. Take care of your health everyone~ Don't freak out, but of course take precaution and stay sane (if staying home for a long period of time).
I understand what you guys have been going through as my country (Singapore) was experiencing what you guys were experiencing a few weeks ago. Take care and stay safe!

When you guys waved around your masks and touched the front of them right over your drinks at the cafe, I cringed. Please don't touch the front of the mask after wearing it out! Defeats some of the purpose
@Googoo ga ga it's yo boi Baby Yoda. Yes, but if you happen to touch the virus and then touch your mask OR if someone is infected and coughs near your mask, the mask now serve as a vessel for the virus to spread to you subsequently. This is why masks should mostly be worn by people who has the virus, or else wear it with caution like what OP was talking about: Take it off by the straps and wash your hands when you put on/take off the masks.
This type of mask won't protect from the virus, so it doesn't really matter how much they touch it. Masks like that are to prevent you spreading the virus to others if you are infected. It won't keep you safe from contracting it.
