Taking APART the Old, PLACING the NEW Raised Beds

- FINALLY!! After 13 months of sawing, sanding, burning, caulking, oiling and waiting through a Minnesota winter to finish, it's time to put these new babies into place even though the temps are sweltering! The old beds would not have made it through another growing season and I'm SO grateful I got the wood over a year ago. I can now get excited about planting and growing my garden!

Cathy you are such an awesome craftsman, you have an attention to detail that a lot of people miss. Your beds look amazing!!!!
That’s so sweet, thank you 🥰
🎉Bravo!!!🎉
Prepsteader Bob is going to be so proud of you and what you've done!
I know I am!
Big hugs! Big respect!

Awww, thank you ☺️
Great job Cathy! I am ready to learn how to build like some of you women who inspire me! I’ve always left it to the men and I’m ready to do it myself and not have to wait!!!
Lol, it’s really so much easier than we think. Definitely draw out and plan it, and don’t rush the build. Whenever I try to make something in a hurry, I make mistakes. You can do it!
Those new beds look fantastic. The old ones were definitely past their prime. really great idea with the tubes for row covers
Thanks Dave! I’d been thinking about that since early last summer and knew it would be so much easier to install them before I place them filled with dirt. I still want to add them to the older beds but that will have to be in the fall when things are done growing.
Good looking and very sturdy construction. Thanks for sharing!! Great Minnesota construction!
Thank you so much! Yes, if we want things to last here, we need to make them durable.
@@northstarprepsteader Agree! It is amazing that things stay together (or work) in MN after being in -20f and +100f! Take care!
Well done, Cathy! Those beds look awesome and will surely last much longer than the last beds! I can't believe how hot ya'll are up there! Yes, Presteader Bob will be so proud of your accomplishment for sure! 👌😊💞
Thank you so much, Gail 💖
Great job Cathy! I love your garden! ❤️

Stake holders is a good idea.
Thanks! I’ve already used them and they’re working great 😊
Hello from a fellow Minnesotan! The new raised beds look great.
Thanks Ricky!
I love the pvc tube idea!
Thanks 😊
Love the PVC idea! Is the dirt always so compacted in the spring? I thought raised beds were supposed to stay looser?
Thanks! Because of the amount of snow we get, it very much compacts the soil. Three feet of heavy snow is a lot of weight! Raised beds do stay looser than soil that you walk on, but these still need to be loosened up.
