    This appears to be a covid era issue. For Piraeus nowadays, cruisers report being dropped off close to their ship terminal when arriving by any Uber or taxi. Also, many people don’t arrive directly from the airport but from their hotel, for which there may not be a transfer service by the cruise company.

      I have sailed from Piraeus more recently, although from a different part of the port, but the taxi was able to drop us at the terminal entral. This is shown in my more recent video.

    Nice Video. May I ask why you were able to bypass that haven checkin area directly at the entrance to the left?

      We didn't bypass it but we don't film the check-in desk or security as staff often object. That said it took less than 30 seconds at the actual check-in desk. I know we were taken through quickly as there weren't many Haven passengers there at that time as a lot of the US passengers were on a delayed flight so, for the Haven passengers, there were a lot more staff than passengers when we went through. Have you cruised in the Haven from Piraeus before?

      @@TheKennedysTravelChannel not from Piraeus. We head out on the Jade next week on the 19th. I was curious about the checkin at Piraeus. Every port is so different. Any other advice or tips would be appreciated. Thank you for taking time to film this and for responding to my questions.

      @@rholuxe9998 Our trip was during the pandemic so we needed covid tests. As we had our on the way from the airport we had bright coloured wrist bands to show that the test had been done. A crew member saw us getting off the coach and walked us straight through. We had three different people take us from the coach to the check in desk and then two more people after that. The lady escorting us to check-in sorted everything for us and we barely stopped walking. The best advice I can give you is to book transfers with Norwegian. That saved us what must have been well over an hour queuing to get the bus into the port. Also never believe anyone who says you can walk from the train station to the port. It is miles away!

      @@TheKennedysTravelChannel We are staying in Athens a few days prior so I have a private car taking us to the port. I am confused about the port not allowing cars to drop passengers at the terminal and making them get on a bus. That seems a bit daft!

      @@rholuxe9998 You can see the queue of passengers on the video. I asked the staff at the port what the issue was and I was told that passengers are not allowed to walk past the port gates (it is still quite a distance to the ship). I don't know if it is always the case but there was only one transfer bus operating and covid restrictions meant limited numbers of passengers on each trip which explains the very long queue (there is only one queue which you cannot bypass if you are a Haven passenger - the couple in the cabin next to ours had to queue for over ninety minutes to get into the port as they made their own way), but I guess things should be easier now. If I sail from Piraeus again, I will take the cruise line transfer every time. I know the situation was different last year but it really did make life a lot easier and we knew that if there was a problem Norwegian would sort it out.

    Was this terminal A or B?

    • @TheKennedysTravelChannel
      @TheKennedysTravelChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terminal B. It was the furthest berth from the gate and the train station.

    Not much of a check-in

      Sorry that you don't like our videos. The staff at the actual check-in did not wish to be filmed, but that part only lasted around 30 seconds as we were taken to a separate desk for check-in.
