    Extra mortar mix on the stone is fine…. Dont be that guy. Don’t fancy up stone and mortar too much, leave it looking natural like it should be. A little extra mortar never hurt anybody.

  • @ronpassmore7053

    Nicely done. I want to do a variety. 1) Moveable, on solid / big castors (to get around code and put on side yard), 2) No L, just straight. 3) Griddle, natural gas, 4) Counter top on one side of griddle, butcher block on the other (think carne, tacos). I think the biggest element is going to be to have something build the frame, since it will need to accommodate the griddle, cabinet doors, the castors, the counter top and butcher block. If you have any ideas, gotchas, etc. love to hear them.

    • @rolandperez4284

      It has held up really well. No issues at all.

    I’m think of doing same idea, except a lot bigger. Maybe 2.5’x16’. I was wondering if you had an issue with the base it’s sitting on? Any cracking? I have a 5.5” patio I wanted to set it on but I heard it needs a 1 ft slab with footings. Any feedback would be a huge help

    • @MrGizmo211
      @MrGizmo211  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A 1ft slab would be crazy. You could park a truck on that :). I did about 6 inches or so and a concrete guy told me 3 inches with rebar would be plenty.

    Great job here. Quick question: How did you attach the frame to the concrete pad? did you drill holes in the pad ? or some type of adhesive?

    • @MrGizmo211
      @MrGizmo211  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - drilled and put in concrete screws to hold it tight.

    I Definitely will be doing something similar to this in the coming months. I do realize this is an older video now, but are there any other things you would've done differently since it's aged some? did you add the barstool/ extra countertop space??
    o.

    • @MrGizmo211

      I would have definitely added a bar overhang to it. I also think I would have added some sort of sun cover about it.
