Thank you! Yeah, I really LOVE that shot - love the symmetry! I agree with you 100% - DJI made a good move here. PS This is not my review, that is coming. Cheers!
Good to see you are back on YT Steve👍. I've got the Neo myself too. It's a fun drone and for the price unbeatable. I will post some Neo cinematic video's later when I have the time. Greetings from 🇳🇱
Thanks so much. I was gone for almost 11 months. I honestly didn't expect to be away from TH-cam that long. Life got a bit too overwhelming and I had to focus in on what was most important. TH-cam takes an incredible amount of time so it was both an easy and a hard decision to put in on pause for a while. Other than saying goodbye to our beloved dog Molly, we are doing good. Thanks for checking in.
@@SteveCoutts Great to hear buddy, so sorry about Molly, I did like to see her ambling along in the videos. Good to see you're back up and running, and dare I say loving life again. Best wishes to you both.
Nice unboxing Steve, it’s a tiny drone, that’s for sure. I consider it more the Tello 2 than the Spark 2, because of the low price point. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bill! Has your wife flown a drone before? The NEO is really fun to fly. I'm quite enjoying it. I had no doubts you would be wanting to get your mitts on the Air 3S. It should be a good one!
@@BlairAir Following is pretty darn good but it really depends on your settings and environment. I took it on some pretty gnarly stuff and it shocked me how well it managed. It had the most difficulty with hairpin corners, especially on single track with steeper elevation gain or loss. Hairpin corners on double track with little change in elevation were handled easily as long as you don't go too fast. 😀
I’m getting the DJI Neo for Christmas this year. I’m only getting the base package because ONE of the reasons why is because I already have an RC2 controller (I bought an Air 3 FMC w/ RC2 controller). Do you really think I should buy 2 extra batteries and a charging hub for mine??
I think getting extra batteries is a no-brainer and I am glad I picked up a couple of extras and the charging hub. Battery life is advertised at 18 minutes (best case) but it sure feels short when you're used to 30+ minutes. I am very happy to have three batteries and there have been times I wish I had more - haha! The NEO has such great controller compatibility, it's kind of dumb that DJI didn't offer a Fly More combo without the controller for those of us that already have one. I would have been nice to get a better deal on the extra batteries instead of essential paying for a controller I didn't get. Best of luck with your NEO when you get it. It's a lot of fun! Cheers!
Note at 65w+ charge rate the Neo batteries charge fast. All 3 simultaneously in an hour - eash at 20-25 mins. IN THE AIRCRAFT they knock it back to 15watts max and 50 minutes for ONE battery. The Hub is a must, and 60watts - DJI 65W is perfect, if not the cheapest charger for the rate. I also have a controller - hell if you fly DJI you almost CERTAINLY have a compatible charger . There are 6 that work AT LAUNCH. Wait till thry add Motion 2 Goggles Integra (not 2 for sone reason) abd FPV controller 2. I have: RC-N2 RC-2 Goggles 3 Motion 3 FPV Controller 3 A phone. My finger 👉 (10 of them!) Thats a lot of compatibility. ALSO: Why has everyone suddenly forgotten about the TELLO? Yes DJI is a reseller, and did not design or manufacture it, but they do sell it. Its tiny -ER than the Neo. Just sayin.
I didn't grab a 65W DJI charger on my initial NEO order but have in a subsequent order, even though I knew it was a perfect match for the NEO's two-way charging hub. The controller compatibility is awesome! Certainly unexpected in my opinion. I just hope that when the NEO Pro, or whatever they call the next version, comes out we maintain broad compatibility. The DJI RC was terrible for *me* in that regard. I bought it with the Mini 3 Pro and that's the only drone I own that it supports. It supports a lot of the older Mavics but not the Mini 2? C'mon! I can understand not supporting newer models but I never understood why they couldn't at least add backwards compatibility with the Mini 2. As for the Tello, oh yah!!! I totally forgot about the one even though I made a video on it! Too funny!!
Considering it's $200 price point, fully manual FPV capability, autonomous flight, controller compatibility and portability, it's an amazing little drone. Sure, its video quality doesn't compare to drones costing HUNDREDS more but that is not what it's trying to do here. It is a drone for anyone and everyone who ever wanted to get in to drones or maybe just get some interesting shots. For that, it's excellent and in good light the video quality is actually quite good. Its versatility, portability and "no hassle" operation make it a no-brainer for folks who just want to capture some cool pictures and video. Cheers!
@@SteveCoutts I dont understand why you never got the fly more package and chose to get extra batteries and a battery charger which works out the same price but without having a controller. This unboxing would confuse potential buyers as buying each item separately is not good value for money and the fly more package would be better as it comes with 3 batteries, charger and controller.
@@pakchannel1760 I actually ordered the Fly More combo first, then cancelled it and did what I showed in the video. The Fly More combo is most often the better deal but the thought of getting *another* controller, when I had one - the RC2 - that worked with the NEO didn't make sense. I would never use the RC-N3, I would always default to the RC2. I did the math and knew that I was essentially paying about the same and not getting a controller. I did think about trying to sell the RC-N3 controller after the fact but felt it may be a hard sell. Who would be looking for just a controller? So, even though it was essentially "free", why would I get one just to have it sit around unused? Getting something I don't need or use seems very wasteful to me. As for folks getting "confused", I think people are smart enough to do their own math. In the video I explained why I did what I did, including already having a compatible controller.
The bike ride on the bridge...WOW!! DJI is brilliant to create a drone with ease of setup and use out of the bag. Great review!!

Yeah, a cool drone, and SO many different ways to fly it. Love the FPV, but also the no controller 'flying camera man's capabilities.
Absolutely! Thanks for stopping by Don!

Good to see you back, Steve. Does the NEO have any type of OA?
Thanks so much, good to be back! The NEO has no OA whatsoever.
Nope. It does follow your path without cutting corners well, so if you don't bonk yourself, it won't either, in most cases
