I just love how you walk us through the sewing process, explaining the whys and how along the way. You are a true teacher! This is coming from a teacher.🥰
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I plan to make these for Christmas presents. I already have made 8 different ones. I know my family will love them and hang them from the Christmas tree. Thanks for your excellent instructions!
I have just found your lovely bird tutorial. Thank you for sharing and I would just like to say that you have the most soothing voice I have ever heard on any tutorial. Such a pleasure to listen to you.
How beautiful , these birds are ❤ wish i sewed but never had the knack for it ...sad for me but i do make LOTS of other things , so i cannot complain there ..i am a landscape artist , still painting atb73 years old and teaching it locally..but b these birds are the most adorable item ive seen in forever ! Im sure u make a host of other things too, like me ! Hugs from another Florida grandmother ❤
Thanks Dale! I would happily trade some sewing lessons for painting lessons….. Something I want to learn and is on my bucket list. This is a very simple make. I hope you give it a try😊
Hi, new subscriber from Australia. I’ve just been binge watching your videos and I’ve stopped with the bird one, only cos I have to get up early in the morning. I don’t have my sewing machine with me as it’s in storage, a brand new one that I purchased but never had the opportunity to even open the box. My other new one, which I’d just got used to was smashed up in an accident. I’ve been loving all your videos so far. Im not a very experienced sewer but I do love to give things a go and I’ve noticed how well you explain things as you go along. I can’t wait to have a go and try making a few of these items. You do make them look easy, so I’m hoping if I take my time, I’ll be able to make the things that I really like. I cannot wait to make quite a few of the birds and also the butterflies. I loved the tea towels and the scarves for the kitchen, I’m wanting to try making a few of them along with the bowl holder. I think your projects are all gorgeous. TFS with everyone. Just wanted to let you know how much I’ve enjoyed your videos so far and how I’m looking forward to beginning. I don’t always comment but I’ll always watch. Have a great week.
Love these! Can’t wait to make some. Will use some for decor and some for cat nip toys that I’ll give as gifts to my cat owner friends…and Xmas gifts for my cats.😸
Hello, here is your binch watching video stalker. 😛 I'm so in love with so many of your video's. My add head can't decide witch one to make first. Lol 💖
Awwwww so pretty 😍!! Nicely done , Angela 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 love these birds 💕💕 My fabrics are not as pretty as yours so I will be going shopping. Sale at 50% for solids and printed cotton ….yay ! Do you know to laminate fabrics ? Cause I want several of these on my mommy’s grave . And also on my aunt and uncle’s grave . I want them to be water repellent. Maybe I will put some on sticks for my planters , Mother’s Day gift for my mother in law. I am going to figure out a way to also put your butterflies at mommy’s grave. Every time I see a butterfly I think it’s my mommy saying hello. My brothers are going to think I am nuts , but they appreciate when pretty up mommy’s grave. I plant her a fresh garden every year with colourful annuals . They help me water it from Spring to Fall. Oh …so excited to make these ! 🥰🥰 And I agree with Sharon Lalli ….toooo beautiful for a cat toy. Thanks so much for posting a distraction 😁😁😁 ….I am going to enjoy going shopping for fabrics !
Hi Berniece! Glad you like them. You can use Heat N Bond to add vinyl coating to your fabric. I think there is also a liquid version too but I’ve never used it. I guess the other solution would be to use waterproof fabric but not sure how well they will turn inside out. You can fill with plastic instead of batting. ( like I did in my cat toy video). I think it’s a nice project you’ve got planned😊
Well, I finished my first one; it's not as perfect as yours, of course. I am using a home sewing machine, Janome HD3000, and I find that trying to start stitching on an edge sometimes doesn't work, so I sew toward the edges instead. Also, I used a 2.0 length for the main sewing and increased the length to 3.0 for topstitching on the tail. Giving us stitch length would be helpful. Thank you!
Hello Angela, thank you for your video and your pattern :) I have purchased your pattern and have just successfully finished your bird! Would you be able to tell us how you came up with the pattern? I am looking at making my own birds but have no idea how to create a pattern, especially the bottom part where it needs to match up with the top part's notches. Thank you!
Thanks so much Joyce. There was no real method to making this pattern. Whenever I design something, I will make a rough pattern and sometimes make over 20 samples before I am happy with final result. It is from the final sewn item that take apart and I then draft my final pattern. It is also from sewing all the samples that I come up with the best method to sew efficiently. You can try reprinting the pattern at a smaller scale for different sizes or use mine as a base and change head and tail shape etc. Cheers!
I can’t find the PDF pattern. These are so cute!! I want to make with my granddaughter. Please tell me where I can find the free PDF pattern. Thank you.
Hi Jenny, did you purchase from the link in this video description? Only patterns from Notches Sewing are genuine. There are dishonest businesses out there using my videos without my permission as their own ads selling copies of my patterns. Please let me know what date you purchased the pattern or email me through the shop. Cheers!
Hi Jenny, the email with link for pattern is sent immediately after payment confirmation. I have sent it to you again. Please check your spam/junk folder as well. Please email me if you still have an issue.
Not set up for Paypal on Shopify. You can make a direct payment on Paypal and I can forward you the pattern if you don’t have the other payment options. Cheers

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words. 😀
Had to give this an immediate Like for the cuteness of the video's thumbnail. I'd give a 2nd if I could for the pattern & end results.
Thanks so much!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I plan to make these for Christmas presents. I already have made 8 different ones. I know my family will love them and hang them from the Christmas tree. Thanks for your excellent instructions!

If I don't have a fabric notcher, can I just use a scissor? Lovely video!
Absolutely. Just don’t cut too deep as you are sewing ¼” seam allowance. Cheers!
@@NotchesSewing thanks!
I just noticed you mentioned to print on letter size paper. Wondering if anyone has been able to print it on A4 paper in Australia?
No problem to print this on A4 as it is a small pattern that fits. Just select Letter size and 100% scale when printing.
