Dermot Parker exactly. Fucking exactly. Eurovision deserves songs like the Israel one. Not that i am not singing it from time to time, but it's not comparable to the Estonia or the Hungary one, which i also adored. It's a shame that 'different than usual' songs don't get what they deserve.
l o I found toy a typical eurovision pop song. It had a message yes, but nothing special. Instead of Hungary, with the metal genre and Estonia with opera genre. Again, congrats for your win. But i believe there were better songs than yours. ☺️

It's like she flew so high and shade the light on other Eurovision's participants and we could see how mediocre at best most of them are... Like she raised the bar so high that I can't watch Eurovision now without disappointment...

It makes me sad that "professional" juries don't have the ear for this kind of music. They put Sweden, a simple pop song that could be performed by anybody, above such an amazing song and such an amazing performance. For years now juries are putting down any song that are leaning towards the opera. Such a shame.
So agree! Sweden especially has been following one specific mold for years and it's just too bla, no meaning, no heart! Formula. Baffled to jury, who are these people?? Shame indeed.

Almost 1 year later and I still can't believe how this masterpiece got only 8th place. Most singers can't even reach this high notes and she did it perfectly. Not to mention the dress which is fabulous. Maybe this too good for Eurovision :(

I'm not denying that this song is amazing (it was my favourite) but it did place lower in televoting than the juries. So while the juries should have rated it higher, so should the public that voted.

I'm writing from Turkey. This performance is really really wonderful. When i first watch, i think "This song is definetly winner". But this is 8th. Juries, are you kidding ? "Making this song 8th" is big humanity criminal
The televote placed this lower than the juries did. Televote placed it 9th with 102 points, whereas the juries put it 6th with 143 points. Televote gave more points to Moldova and Ukraine of all countries ^^'

Greetings from the UK. I was with three friends, we were talking to one another as Eurovision was on, and this was the act that made us stop and just listen. Her voice is absolutely insane. I love how effortless she looks when singing it. Fantastic makeup, a dress that won't be forgotten, and a voice that soars almost as high as the stars she wants to reach. Whatever the results, this was by far my winning voice. I still have chills when she breaks into the second chorus. Phew!
Well done, Elina. Stunning in every way. I hope she's proud for representing her country with this enchanting piece.

me and my partner were there that day. we watched the family show/grand rehearsal in the afternoon. We both got goosebumps while she was performing... i know it was a year with a lot of great songs but she should have been among the top 3 that night! We were gobsmacked by the power of her voice and performance. In other songs i remember the crowed cheering , talking , laughing... when she started singing we went all silent...
