As Kenyans, over the last 20 years we have made tremendous improvements to make our democracy work. It has never been easy, and we are still not perfect, democracy is a constant effort. Let Nigerians and the entire African continent remember in 2002 we managed to uproot a dictator from power after 24 years of mismanagement. And the transition to power was without bloodshed, it was a smooth democratic process. Also, remember in about 5 years later the incumbent failed to relinquish power after being defeated in an election, leading to violence that led to the killing and maiming of more than 1000 people. I repeat, democracy is a process, it takes time to build working institutions and get it right. Even the USA has its issues. Get out an vote!!
In 2007,over 2000 kenyans died and other 10,000 were displaced due to post Election violence, its something we learnt the hard way and we can't afford to go the same route once again.God Bless Kenya.God bless Africa
These presenters must be sisters. .. I never saw Malika share a seat with you. Plus Malika should have less Naija accent for her to qualify being Kenyan but it's creativity at its best. Keep up girl
I'm a Kenyan,I don't want to say we are perfect, but guys hummm pray for Nigeria oooo, please please,I was there apart from election too much kidnaping, rape, ritual sacrifice, let's pray for Nigeria day and night, grace of God is sufficient
Am Kenyan but when I see Nigeria my heart bleed for this giant imagine with the population the oil and other resources it should be the Dubai of Africa
the gas they don't even extract most of it. the location. should be the biggest air travel Hub. connecting east west North South Africa even EU and Africa. should have built a train to Morocco connecting EU and west and central Africa and then south Africa and avoided use of Egyptian Suez canal. I hope they will improve. we should be getting all our refined oil from Nigeria and avoid the enemy Arab oil. even gas. we should get palm oil from Nigeria not Asian countries. Nigeria must get very very serious has alot of potential
Shell in collaboration with corrupt leadership has managed to mess up Nigeria for generations. I'm Kenyan and I want to see a STRONG black led African country to fight for the smaller weaker ones. Nigerians should wake the fuck up!!
Here to support you from Kenya 🇰🇪, thanks for shading light 🕯️ about our country, yes we're doing good in a no of sections but we definitely have our weaknesses but we try as much as we can to improve.Rem no one is perfect.
Hello am from Nigeria and I want to know how I can send money from Nigeria to Kenya and receive Kenya shillings! I send Naira to Kenya and I receive Kenya shillings?
14 day supreme court decision is mandated by the constitution, they have to deliver a judgement, on election disputes. Even the court said 14 days wasn't enough to get into the nitty gritty but they had to follow the law as stipulated. SCoK even when you disagree with the judgement it's still a fair and sound judgement. imo
wow that analysis was spot on..am a kenyan and sometimes we need to appreciate the gains we have made since the advent of the new constitution. We have made great strides but we need to be vigilant with politicians as they always try to meddle with laws to suite their selfish ends.we as africans need to pick best practices from one another to uplift our continent. Thanks SISTERS for the chat twas enjoyable.
as a kenyan i wish nigerians would listen to you, its takes time and patience which many citizens of many countries dont have, kenyans we learned the hard way!

Many African countries are celebrating their 60th - 70th national independence days. 70 years after the American Revolution, the United States fought an inhumane horrific Civil War with nearly a million dead and half the nation in absolute ruin. Then the country instituted racial apartheid for another hundred years. The truth is that America didn't become a democracy until 1964 when everyone (including Blacks in the south) actually could vote. So - the US has only been a democracy for 60+ years. And last year there was a violenr attempted coup to stop the transfer of power. Democracy is bloody business, a constitution is a bandage over centuries of wounds. Perspective.
As a Kenyan most of the positive points given on Kenya as true but are largely superficially while in actual fact our governance systems needs serious improvements if not overhaul.....
I cannot believe people in other countries believe we're good when I think that this Kenyan government of ours needs to be more open on what they are doing, the judiciary sees fishy to me
@@melanin_n_kinks totally agree with you. Kenya is heading to the right direction. She is not yet there but definitely on the way there in many sections
That's why we have to keep pushing. We can't go back to where we were pre 2000s. We are ok, but never good enough or satisfactory, democracy is a full time job.
Wewe acha maneno yako...vote buying and conscious buying was there and infact rampant only that it was high tech and you needed to be smart enough to notice it

True democracy requires commitment and hard work. And must be underpin by strong national institutions.
